My favorite soundtrack in the game. I love how each character has associated instruments a la Peter and the Wolf, and the intro theme is the prime example of this.

Whittleton Creek isn't my personal favorite level, but I totally understand the people who say it's theirs.
The best maps in Hitman 2016 / 2 are the ones with the best atmosphere and the most unique targets, and you get two amazing polar opposites in WC.
As his music suggests, Nolan Cassidy is the security-obsessed, straitlaced nut who's actually quite funny in how seriously he takes everything; his theme reminds me a lot of Home Alone and other 90's-era movies with mischievous plots and semi-serious villains.
He's the perfect compliment to Janus, who is deep and poetic: an ancient man, barely living, and who only seems to enjoy life when he's thinking about the past. He's done so many horrible things and he's so close to dying peacefully - it makes you wonder: just what *is* the point in killing him? Justice has come too late. But, in the end, it must come. His music stresses this, as well as his USSR roots, and it's just beautiful.

Love the soundtrack of Whittleton Creek than most other maps in the game. The whimsical parts of some of the tracks are great for sneaking around and thinking of a plan to murder Cassidy.
Janus' theme however, takes a full 90° turn as the whimsical music beautifully transitions into the hair-raising militaristic/spy thriller theme. Giving that amazing suspenseful piece of music.

Whittleton Creek is without a doubt one of my favorite levels in the trilogy. It feels very welcoming and familiar, like it's a place you've been before--or maybe that's just me. In my childhood my school was in a neighborhood that looked a lot like Whittleton Creek. With its softly-playing piano and gentle string ensemble, the level is soothing and feels comfortable. It's like you're being wrapped in a warm, comfortable blanket on a chilly autumn day.
Like Mumbai, the music very much complements the personalities of the targets. Nolan Cassidy feels very exaggerated; he never drops his stoic and militaristic attitude, and his obsession with security almost borders on paranoia. This in combination with his accompanying music, which is not so much serious as it is bouncy and playful, makes him feel like a dastardly kid's movie villain. He feels like a character from a family-friendly movie that wandered into HITMAN 2 by accident, making even his more gruesome deaths feel goofy, too.
Janus is a completely different story. The sudden shift from the soothing music of the streets to the intense, serious music of Janus' house makes you feel like you've just stepped into a relic of the past. Janus _himself_ is a relic of the past. His music reminds you that beneath the appearance of a frail old man is a sadistic, ruthless, and cold person that was once one of the most powerful and influential men on earth, but it also reminds you that those days ended long ago. When you kill him, it feels as though you're putting the past to rest--and giving him the comeuppance he should have gotten a long time ago.
Fun fact: Janus' theme plays in Thornbridge Manor in the Dartmoor Garden Show! Fitting, due to the Carlisles connection to Providence.
It also plays when you're in the treehouse behind the vacant house. It made me giggle the first time I noticed, because this really intense music was playing while I was casually observing the garden party from a kid's treehouse.

"Whittleton Creek, Vermont. On the surface, a picture perfect suburban dream. Wide lawns, golden maple trees and verdant lawns. Most residents here are white collar professionals ranging from university staff to government employees."
*"Most... but not all. Janus' unpresuming home is protected by a host of bodyguards, and intel shows that the fragile former constant rarely leaves the property."*
"Nolan Cassidy, on the other hand, roams the neighborhood streets. A recent arrival, the dutiful Providence Herald is busy making threat assessments and settling in with his security team."
*"Now remember. This is about more than just revenge. Janus is the key to bring down Providence. So get in there and find us a lead."*
    "Good luck, 47."

I am here for Janus theme, because it's probably the closest soundtrack in the new Hitman series to the Jesper Kyd style, which shaped the Hitman for many people. At least, that's how I take it.

Whittleton Creek is literally my most favorite location in Hitman 2. Not just the fact it's in America, which is obvious, but also the fact it's a suburban neighborhood, and I just love that. The music definitely fits the mood of the place on both being inside houses and outside. On the side note, I like this place so much, I play it numerous times just to see how random the outcomes would be, and I'm not disappointed with the results, except dying lol.

2:43 Really quite interesting how the Nolan Cassidy theme brings to mind the Desperate Housewives theme - and I can see bit of resemblance with the kind of neighbourhood vibe as well! That's cool haha 😆

I'm really starting to see the poetry in how some of these destinations are put together. Like how there are parallels between Cassidy and Janus's life and position in the world, but it feels like Janus was far more dangerous and effective in his active years than Cassidy could dream of being.

I will because I feel obligated at this point. -But if it was entirely up to me, considering the Epic Games Store exclusivity deal, the fact that you have to buy Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 again even if you own them already to be able to play them in Hitman 3 on PC, and that progress transfer can only be done once per account, I would have bailed out a long time ago.- Outdated comment.
