I believe pacifist run isn't even possible without completing the neutral run. Undyne has to call you near the core, which is possible only after completing the neutral run.

You only need to do all steps of the run very carefully
@@ng42. I checked in Google, it got confirmed multiple times: you can't complete pacifist first, since there are things that can be done only after completing the game at least once.

I suppose that by "true pacifist" you mean the one with Asriel.. that's the one I'm talking about too.. I always called it just pacifist..
Any route that isn't genocide or true pacifist I just call neutral, because if you just don't kill anyone, it will result in pretty much the same ending as neutral, so calling it "pacifist" doesn't really make sense to me, you have to kill Asgore after all.
Saying that I never played the game just because I called an ending not the way it's "supposed" to be called is just silly.
I'm really glad they got to run the game the way they wanted. I think that's the way your first run-through should be! Then the other routes after~ I'm glad they're gonna play again to see the other ending(s)!

Well for your first playthrough the game will only be in neutral mode and you can't do pacifist or genocide until your second playthrough
I thought they played ALL of the neutral route, then uploaded the entire thing at once

@@PyroManiac753 Chara isn’t evil, per se, but they aren’t completely good. They could’ve stopped the player on multiple occasions, but they didn’t.

Not quite a Chara, that would go against Toby Foxes entire way of telling a story. No one ever said Chara hates monsters, just that they hate humans. Chara only kills out of self defense. DJ isnt pulling a Chara, DJ would be pulling a Flowey or pulling a Player on genocide. Both Flowey and the Player kill because they want too and its fun, I would say he is pulling a Flowey because, well, DJ is a player. Hope that clears up some lore👍

I absolutely love this game. I know this playthrough isn't the 'True' way to play, but since I have only seen other youtubers do true pacifist or full genocide, there is quite a bit of dialogue that I have never seen before (Mainly from Undyne). It's amazing!
(Also, I love how they played the game how they wanted to play, not being bullied by fans into very specific routes. Nice!)

This is why i love completely blind neutral runs. The feelings when you realise what you've just done, the absolute horror when EXP and LOVE is explained? Nothing matches that amount of emotion. True pacifist is nice, but it doesnt pack quite the punch without the neutral run first. It needs the disatisfaction of the neutral ending to feel earned. It needs the awfully negative emotions from the neutral run to feel amazing.
People who coerce others into playing pacifist first really did not understand the game at all. It's a game designed to be played again. The neutral ending is designed to motivate you to play a different ending, flowey feeding into curiousity after you finish it the first time. The will to get a better story ending is what motivates for true pacifist. The curiosity for what if's is what drives genocide. Neutral on the other hand is not only good for a first time playthrough, being driven by wanting to play the game, but also for replays, toying with different possibilities. Undertale is not a 'one and done' game, and it's people treating it like that, that is harming it.

@@potatoman7028 I used one and accidentally used another snow piece against Undyne (meant to use a different food item but hit enter twice) but I still have the pie, a snow piece, face steak, and an ungodly amount of legendary heros
