    Join Laura and me as we solve Exit the Game: The Enchanted Forest, one of the many games in the continuously inventive 'Exit the Game' series from Kosmos. In this video we unbox the game and solve it from start to finish, so there are spoilers throughout. 😁
    This video is part of a series in which each week we solve a different escape room box - not just other Exit the Game boxes but also Unlock, Escape Room The Game and many others - including some great indie escape-room products from Kickstarter and elsewhere too - so please do subscribe to the channel if you would like to join us on this fun adventure!
    Please do also comment below - we'd love to know what you think of the video, and whether you solved the puzzles faster than we did! Or if you've tried the box yourself, what did you think of it? And if you enjoy this kind of thing, do check out these other playlists of my various escape-room puzzle solves:

    tje 076 ordering was because you crossed out the 0 on the outer ring, the 7 on the middle ring and the 6 on the inner ring. Those are the precise numbers that have to be lined up. It took me also a moment to figure out though.

  • @ivaerak
    @ivaerak Před rokem +1

    The pearls number sequence is not arbitrary. It always starts from the outmost ring towards inside in Kosmos games.

    • @drgareth
      @drgareth  Před rokem +1

      Thank you for watching! I don't think reading inwards is arbitrary either, but the issue is we simply didn't realise that it was the rings of the crossed-through numbers we should be ordering. It's also reasonable to look at the ordering of the given jewels (for which left to right is the obvious reading, and probably the most commonly used ordering in an Exit game), or an ordering based on the left-to-right or top-to-down positions of the jewels or numbers on the dress when the ribbons are tied. Until I drew on the wheel in Sharpie and span the wheel, the existing pencil lines were not sufficiently clear that it was at all obvious to us that the crossed numbers were on different rings. Of course we should have thought of this sooner, but most Exit puzzles with multiple equally reasonable ways to deduce an ordering do explicitly specify the ordering that is required. That the solution doesn't explain this makes me think that it didn't occur to the authors that you might look at this differently, but clearly at least we did. :) To be clear, though, I don't think it's a bad puzzle.

      @@drgareth Yes, you even had it at the very start when the X card popped out, you immediatelly mentioned the outter-inward ring method but never tried it and went for the help cards instead. Sorry I was commenting as I was watching the vid, later on in vid of course you explained it. Beautiful game series.

      @@ivaerak Sometimes we watch the videos back and spot something so obvious we can't believe we missed it first time! Or like you say, we sometimes say something out loud that turns out to be correct but wait a long time to pursue it. We certainly have our 'doh!' moments! It's all part of the fun🤣

      @@LauraPuzzles @drgareth Was wondering do you also play the 'Escape Room the Game' ones (large box with a chrono decoder device and plastic keys)? My fav is 'Dawn of Zombies'. Also we just played the 'Escape from Dead Town' (published by Professor Puzzle), graphically my fav so far, but kinda lacking in few segments.

    • @drgareth

      Yes, I have most of the (many!) English-language Escape Room the Game games, including some imported ones from the US and Australia not available in the UK (such as their jigsaw ones). I hope to solve some on video soon!
      I also have a few Professor Puzzle games but I’m not sure if I’ve tried the one you mention although I’m pretty sure I do own it. I plan to solve their “Curse of the Dark” soon, hopefully.
