Join me and my colleague Laura Jayne Ayres as we solve our way through Exit the Game: The Abandoned Cabin, which was one of the very first Exit the Games, published in English in 2017. In this video we unbox the game and solve it from start to finish, so there are spoilers throughout. đ
Each week we'll be solving a different escape room box, including not just other Exit the Game boxes but also Unlock, Escape Room The Game and many others - including some great indie escape-room products from Kickstarter and elsewhere too - so please do subscribe to the channel if you want to follow along on the journey!
Thanks for watching, and please feel free to comment below! And if you've enjoyed this, then check out these playlists of some of my other escape-room puzzle solves:

This was awesome! I was excited to see that you have started making more videos. Canât wait to see whatâs next âșïž
Thank you so much! Next week we have another Exit the Game solve coming up, and we plan to release them on a regular weekly basis going forward. I have a few dozen unsolved games on my shelves to get through! :)
Cool
Lovely surprise! Wasn't sure I'd see another puzzle video until December đ
Really glad you enjoyed it! I donât blame you - I hoped to add some during the year last year but never did, so this year I made sure that I got round to organising it! :) Weâve already recorded the next one, and scheduled the ones after too - the plan is to be properly weekly.
This was fun to watch! I hope you make some more of these videos with either other Exit the Game games or escape-type games from other game companies. Thanks!
Thank you! We definitely will - we'll be uploading one every week for the foreseeable future, with a mix of types of escape room games. Next week is another Exit game, but after that we might do an Unlock or Escape the Room game. I also have a large number of Kickstarter-funded escape room games to solve, but I'll probably hold back on those until we've solved a reasonable number of the more widely distributed games first.
It made me laugh that I saw "barcode" first where you two saw "brocade". Clearly two very different worlds...đ
Yes I should have thought to look at that anagram again! Brocade is quite obscure but I have come across obscure words in translated games before, and I think I was too trusting that there would be only one answer! I didn't hold it on camera but I actually looked up 'brocade' on my phone just to check it was actually a real thing. Should have realized that was a warning flag. ;)
@@drgareth you did raise an interesting point in the video though, about whether word puzzles should have multiple possible solutions. I agree- imagine the chaos if the Countdown Conundrum was like that every day. Perhaps the designers didn't realise brocade was a word?
@@DevilboyScooby Or they did but thought 'no one will ever think of that'! :)
it must be the yeti who locked you in the cabin!
Great video. Associations play a big part in solving puzzles don't they. đ°đ°đ°
This is a little easier than the mysterious island in the same exit series.
Thank you, and that would definitely be quite a plot twist! Somehow that's less menacing, I think, so I like it! :) Next week we're solving another Exit the Game, The Sinister Mansion, but thanks for the recommendation - we'll solve it at some point I hope!
@@drgareth ooh I haven't played that game before. looking forward to it!
WaitâŠ.Where is the other picture, the one with the fireplace??
Itâs revealed by solving one of the previous puzzles, which tells you where itâs hidden. Does that help?
We can't find it... The one with the fireplace... We are from the Netherlands
@@hannekebrandes5897 under the inside of the box
Same. Came here looking because we got that it said to look in the box but it wasnât there
*Spoiler* Itâs hidden in the bottom of the box. If you watch at 16:07 youâll see the riddle that reveals this, and where exactly to look in the box. (If itâs missing from your box, thatâs very unlucky! Complain to Kosmos and ask them to send you a replacement)
