make sure to run the game at least once.
1-Win key + R
2-Type %localappdata% in the run window
3-go to Robocop\saved\config\windows and open engine.ini file with any text editor.
-r.ReflectionMethod=x : x=0 : Disables Reflections completely. x=1:Lumen Reflections x=2:Screen Space Reflections.
-r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 : Disables Depth Of Field completely.
-r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=x : Adjusts the sharpness of the image (better keep x between 0 and 1).
-r.Lumen.Reflections.Temporal=0 : Mitigates the noise in Lumen reflections, particularly when using DLSS.
-r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.Temporal.MaxFramesAccumulated=32 : Decreases the noise (or boiling) in Lumen Global Illumination.
-r.DynamicGlobalIlluminationMethod=x : replaces Lumen Global Illumination with alternative methods.
x=0 : Baked GI, x=1 Lumen GI, x=2 Screen Space GI.
*this one will negatively impact the quality of the game's lighting and cause a lot of darkness in most areas.
-r.shadowquality=0 : This will get rid of all shadows

Probably the best game setting optimization videos out there.
I wish games didn't overlap their settings so much tho, the depth of field toggle shouldn't be tied to a generalized post processing setting.
Yeah sadly a lot of triple A titles have DoF and other preference based setting such as Vignette and Chromatic Aberration locked in a Post Process Effect setting and it is the indie games that usually have these available as checkboxes. I've noticed this whenever I try out a new Early Access or indie game.

@@quintit Vignette is annoying unless it used in specific contextual scenes. But I found that chromatic aberration looks fine in some games with correct settings for subtle smoothing and color grading effect. Same thing with motion blur, it should be implemented correctly without too aggressive effect. Bad implementation is the reason while some people despising some really cool artistic effects.
I agree, games with a blur slider are nice and a slider for more post processing effects would be welcome. Even though I would never use chromatic abberation, I appreciate options for stuff like that. By adding a tiny bit of blur the game can remain legible while simultaneously reducing the uglyness of low fps.@@J0rdan912
I also suggest turning on HDR via the .ini. If you have a HDR display, the visuals difference can be striking
There are now new options in the menus from reflections, shading, foliage and more to mess around with. Would love to see an update for it.

The lumen denoising cvars are extremely useful and make the game look a lot better. Those glitchy lumen shadows and reflections were bothering the hell out of me.
How can we use this "Lümen cvars"?

They just released a new update earlier today that added a lot of new individual settings like foliage quality, reflection quality, and global illumination quality. You may need to make a new video soon

I think for the proper XeSS upscaling you'll need an Intel card. From what I understand XeSS has a software and hardware path where the latter is of a higher quality

The latest update primarily focuses on enhancing Path Tracing and DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
I don't see the necessity to revisit and test all settings again, as it would be a waste of time and effort. However, I'm considering making a video to discuss the new update, highlighting the improvements, and examining the CPU and GPU performance differences compared to the 2.0 version.

I run on GTX 970 + 4790K@4.0g, but it's frustrating because it's so slow. Even though I almost designated the option as LOW. Just in case, it's also helpful to set the screen to full screen.

Every games need a preset option called benchmarking preset
I had terrible stutter in demo while shooting or running. I hope they fixed it in final version.
A lot of the stutter was tied to the initial shader cache. I haven't had that issue to be honest.

Lumen.Reflections.Temporal=0 does not seem to work for me. I entered it into file and it was not deleted but it is not working. I did comparison screenshots and reflections in water still shimmer.
Do I have to change ReflectionMethod too for it to work?
P.S. I tried both -r and r (without -).

I have 3050 laptop gpu, 16gb ram and i5 11th gen... I know it is not the best but it's decently higher than the minimal requirements. Still, I can barely keep a stable 30 fps even on the lowest settings.

Any fix for the traversal stutters? Utilizing Engine.ini mod from Nexus mod seem to reduce it a bit but not completely. Why does UE5 so bad bruh.
Devs arent taking the time to optimize their side, these ini tweaks are things they could do
I'd want to clarify that it's probably not the dev's fault but most likely higher ups rushing them to make these decisions to cut stuff / time to work on things

You have missed a few things on your optimized Settings including Textures.
Hello im sorry but i have a cuestion. Its what can i do if in my file only say engine ? Not say engine.ini
It's the same file, .ini is just a file extension (like .mp4 ...).
Even with this settings still dropping like crazy from 80-100 fps on full Epic, 1440p and DLSS Quality to 40-60 on lowest possible settings during some corridor levels or combat segments. Game is just another shitty optimized UE5 title. And night vision contact shadows are extremely bad with this settings. Still a solid improvements for any PC tho.

Be sure you are not using frame generation and that it's turned off. It will crash the game and play at maybe a lower resolution if needed. If still crashing then use DLSS dlaa and see if that helps if u have a Nvidia card
@ragex-3785 I have a 3080 so no frame gen. I think it's because I was using the ini files from a mod on nexus that has nicer contrast But after switching to my default engine.ini its working fine so far

My brother was crashing due to his undervolt. Make sure it's nothing on your end.

what can we do with such a bad texture streaming?
When it come to streaming, it depends on your internet connection and your video output resolution when you stream the games. I'm using 8000kbps bitrate setting in OBS, and for me it was really great for output, you can check my youtube channel livestreaming for this game.
And this one I just paste from the obs
720p video at 30 frames per second - 1,500 to 4,000 kbps.
720p video at 60 frames per second - 2,500 to 5,000 kbps.
1080p video at 30 frames per second - 3,000 to 6,000 kbps.
1080p video at 60 frames per second - 4,500 to 9,000 kbps.
4K video at 30 frames per second - 8,000 kbps.
@mekanin I think you misunderstood. They was not talking about streaming the game but the textures streaming in.

the config file helped a lot thanks, but damn this game is barely playable on my 4090, i get 110fps and that is on the low side if what i can enjoy.
I'm running solid 60fps at 4K with everything on epic on a 4080 (+7900X, 64GB DDR5) but the texture pop-in is killing me.

The game runs like shit, I was expecting similar perfomance to Terminator Resistance or at least close to it considering the graphics are pretty much as good in both tittles even taking into consideration the difference versions of Unreal and the fact that actually simple somewhat simple graphics helps with that retro feel to it. But instead this shit ask for a fucking NASA computer (3 times the requeriments you need for Terminator Resistance) and the worst is even people with those rigs are reporting stutters, models and textures popping and input lag.
How do you like your brand new car backfire. Well, this is what traversal and any other stuttering does on UE games. Enough is enough and game publishers must know that they are not going away with it . Absolutely unacceptable now.
