I forgot to mentioned in the video that I've tested XeSS DP4a (Standard Model) which support AMD and Nvidia GPUs , the advanced XeSS upscaling model which is supported by intel Arc GPUs may not exhibit the issues I've mentioned in the video.
I'm working on Baldur's Gate 3 optimization guide and I know that many of you are eagerly awaiting this video , so stay tuned :)
Your videos are always appreciated by me and many others. Please test DX11 vs Vulkan in BG3 for both fps and for HDR visuals, if you have a HDR display. :)
i hope you test BG3 in main town aswell
Good job, mate
Under the Upscaler quality you should have chosen balance instead of quality.
Are you going to make an optimization guide for Baldur's Gate 3?
Yes please!!
Phenomenal job on the new video as always. You keep on doing the job that Digital Foundry has been neglecting for the last 2+ years which is consistent PC comparisons. Keep up the good work as DF seems to be more focused on console comparisons and you'll easily be able to pull in what they're neglecting.
thank you again, been waiting for this !
Thanks again for the detailed yet simple explanation.
Yes, I've been waiting on this!!
Amazing! Thank you!
Thank you for not only showing with results what does what but explaining what every setting does in detail this makes it so much easier to understand the settings and i'll def know what to look out for in other games thank you
Thank you very much for this video! I didn't think it would make such a difference playing on low setting (since my laptop forced the settings to low for performance). However, I didn't realize that having an upscaler was required to help boost the performance with the settings. I've decide to go with NVIDIA DLSS and the recommended choices (with small stuff like foliage and water reflection effects on ultra) and it's just as glorious as I had hoped.
Cheers for the video!
Thank you for keeping PC performance analysis videos alive and especially for your focus on best possible visual presentation vs frame rate.
thanks bro, you explained what i was asking in my head
Very helpful!
Thank's man!
Niceee, thanks for the guide, keep it up for next games 👍👍
I love that you also include image quality. It's why I'm subscribed.
Great guide, as always.
Great content as always. You are the best.
Youre doing gods work brother. Liked and subbed. I used your guide in dying light 2 and sons of the forest
Again, a very helpfull guide. Thanks a lot
Your videos help a lot. Thank you very much
Another banger of a video.
my game runs ssso smooth now, thank you so much, amazing video
Thanks again for your detailed guide. Do you plan to do one for Callisto protocol?
Thank you.
Boss❤
😅by this point all my games are based of your benchmarking tutorials thanx man🔥🔥🔥
It's so funny how his guides are so much better than all the other bullshit guides that other youtubers have. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
You are a true king
Tyvm good one , BG3 next 🤔
Thank You! Another alpha game!
I love how it plays and looks on dlss 4k with my 2060super.its good enough for me.also thanks for the video I was waiting for it.
this channel need to be know more!
您的性能优化视频是我见过的最好的。谢谢
oh man yore the best simple and beautiful
Thabks for the detailed expo, this reaply helped me out, as i was wondering why i was getting 35 to 45 fps btw what resolution are u using for this? I have a 2070 super would these settigns still work for me ? And a ryzen 3600x
The king has spoken
nice video, I hope to see a Baldur's Gate 3 video
I seem to get really bad hitches, stops, and freezes. Thats my main problem. And it happens mainly when any animation start to kick in, like reloading, clambering, enemy and npc specific animations/attacks will cause thus for me. Not sure what it is myself.
Hi, are you going to do one for Baldur's Gate 3 as well?
for the nvidia reflex, do you recommend on or on + boost? i have a rtx 2080 ti and intel i9 cpu
There is a great mode tool , to increase FPS, by disabling some SSGI and shadow quality to even more.
how
Genio!
you are the best
Finally
Thanks again Benchmarking! Oh boy the graphical options of this game, I swear, is so disappointing. It's obvious that they just used the basic Unreal 5 graphical settings. They should have opened up more detailed graphical settings for more customizable level of graphical fidelity. The View Distance quality being the most useless graphical option.
1:53 Is this not a high temperature for your GPU?
They make a lot of games to run great years later
Has anyone been able to force TSR in this game? Consoles seem to use it instead of FSR2 and it has much less ghosting, usually it was quite easy to add in late gen UE4 games so I hope it’s easy to add in UE5.
I know this video is pretty old atp, but I wanted to comment for anyone looking that forcing ReBar on made my fps go from ~86 in the intro to ~105.
Id highly recommend researching and trying for yourself if your system supports it!
10700k@5ghz and a 3070
heyy bro we need an optimization for BULDERS GATE 3 pls
Can't optimize a turd. Will wait a year or so hopefully they actually fix their game because it looks really good
a 1650 gets 20fps on 1080p low
@@shadowclaws45 yeah because this game pushes boundaries in some area's.
Agree with you...of course why they are rushing to release unfinished games cause there is big Sharks coning in September.
Hopefully they split effects quality out into seperate options
its better to wait for the final patch to play this cause the 1st had 8 and it ran way better i beat it last year and didnt have any drops hardly and i was using a 3060
I tried all the settings you recommended, but it didn’t give me a single fps sadly :( What’s even more bizarre is that going from everything high to everything low in settings doesn’t change my fps at all either. I have 3070ti, Ryzen 2600 3..8 GHz and 16 GB RAM, playing on 2K resolution. I don’t know why but my GPU usage is only like 40 % and CPU even lower, around 30 %. At the very beginning of the game I had over 100 fps and it was running smoothly, but as soon as I entered the town it all went to shit and it’s the same in the first map after the prologue. I have 50-60 fps, but somehow it feels like playing on 30-40, it’s just completely unplayable. Is there any way to force the game to actually utilize the hardware, or it’s just so poorly optimized that nothing can be done?
its poorly optimized for PC, its built on console first and for console since it rely heavily on DLSS/FSR upscaling with Frame Generation on to get performance your gpu usual get from other games.
I finally rest and watch the sun rise on a greatful universe.
Muito bom. Obrigado, tem me ajudado muito nos meus jogos.
wow somebody doesn't use click bait in the preview
I didn’t play this game on release, but it definitely runs pretty well now. That must have patched the performance hit with detailed shadows as it only seems to lower my fps by 5 or so with it on.
Can easily get 70 fps + in most areas at 4K DLSS set to Quality and every setting maxed including detailed shadows.
I personally turn frame generation on since it boosts up to 120 or so at 4K.
tu é brabo vei. pode fazer do cyberpunk 2077 por favor?
tem que mandar mensagem em ingles pra ele lol, e ele ja fez, soh olhar no canal
i wonder can this guy make baldurs gate 3 optimized settings video, because only setting what make difference its shadows in bg 3 )
i rly dont like how upscaling is becoming a must
6:51 for summary
DLSS quality in options tab is the best one?
Yes, DLSS Quality is the best one.
with rtx4070 on 1440p i make 165fps with fg 🔥🔥❤
I know it's stupid but in any chance can you do a gta v optimization guide...
Something's off about the smoothness in this game. I capped the fps at 72, but it feels like lower fps than 72 in other games.
I agree
This is usually a frame time issue. Check your frametime graph.
The new Detailed Shadows option does a lot more. It also adds shadows from extra light sources like candles, fireplaces, lamps, world stones, etc. It also seems to add stronger AO as a result of the better shadowing. It's a very essential option in my opinion.
The frames suffer a lot though. And again the developer needs to make a detailed graphical options. It's so asinine to tie other graphical options to detailed shadows in this case. Also no description at all in the options menu. This is a bad form of implementing graphical options. Nixxes is the gold standard when it comes to PC graphical options.
@@conyo985 I agree. Tying too many settings into one slider is poor utilization, but visually speaking, I can't leave Detailed Shadows off. It just makes the game look so much better. And thankfully, I'm still able to stay above 60fps with it ON, so might as well right?
OPTIMIZATION GUIDE to baldurs gate 3 my conrade?
Has this game stutter problems like hogwarts?
Love how this game ties in mutiple if not even 5 graphics option in 1 slider option. /endsarcasm. They need to overhaul the hell outta the PC graphics option to optimize it but I wouldn't hold my breath since its a console first game with a bad PC port. I can play RE4 remake on ultra at 70-80 fps at 1440p but the intro and city part of this game runs like dog shit at 20-35 fps on medium!
Can you do a optimized video for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey?
All max but vol clouds at high fog mid
Digital Foundry and Hardware Unboxed have both made guides on it, I recommend looking at both of theirs!
in this game low & ultra not too much difference
but fps is alot D:
This is gonna be hard for you, the game even at lowest settings runs like shit xd
CAN YOU DO GTAV ONE DAY FRIEND
Weirdly enough a lot of the settings don't increase/decrease fps the way you would think. For example, when I have shadow quality on ultra and turn OFF detailed shadows my FPS goes DOWN.
Max has been dead for like 8 years stop using its its mutiple vida that show its not a big diffrence from high and high runs way better
I never agree with wasting time with developing games with motion blur, screen shake, and depth of field. Our eyes already takes care of this, so it's like adding double motion blur and depth of field.
-bit 100 -1920x1440 -dx12 -mhz 61% -ms 10.0% my game maxinx tps and fps 100-102 pc game Ultra 920 GeForce GT710
horrible game performance and optimalization…
Complètement d'accord
I think part of the reason why the game is so demanding is poor graphics setting including combined settings into one. Basically lazy console port.
Funny how you mentioned this game offers nothing visually yet Losomn alone has some of the best geometry and art style I've seen so far on a game this year. You do your foliage comparison on Ward 13 when Yaesha has the best looking one in the game and I get it it may be due to the procedural nature of the game but, this is not a simple benchmark video. This game is in Unreal 5 and it may be not using all the bells and whistles but, to say it does not have visuals its just wrong. See the review from Skill Up channel he does show how great this game can look and his description is just on point. Other than that good job on the optimized settings.
its no need to use max thats been dead for like 7 years its mutiple vids that show its not a big diff from high
I cannot believe how shitty games run nowdays its insane.
If theres no way to disable nanite or virtualized shadows it wont help anyone since this game is so geometry dense 😂
Remove the music when you speak or reduce it more.
Rip pc port i lost hope 😢😢
To be fair, the first game also had issues with performance and was never really fixed. I think it's more of an issue of the development team not knowing how to optimise their games in general, rather than being a rushed title.
Why not recommend Ultra for Effects?
I was wondering about that too... in the fps comparison scene used, there was no fps hit, for slightly better image quality...?
In some other scenes the difference in performance may be more significant. So it's better be on a safe side, I guess.
max been dead for like 7 years its multiple vids showing its no big jump from high stop using max
Men this game makes no dam sense how is i can run the game on everyhting maxed out on a 3090 and i9 12900k but the minute i move that shadow quality setting to anything higher than potato mode my pc sounds like a jet and i have t30 fans then i put it back to potato it goes quiet just of that 1 setting some bs
Max been dead for 8 years no reason to use it it's mutiple vids that shows it's not a big diffrence from high use that
Dlss is awesome, however it created a culture of lazy developers, good old times when devs had to work hard to make a game fit a cartridge
game was def not rushed, the game looks great and remains looking great on even my shitbox. and just playing the game for the gameplay u can 100% tell its the least rushed game in the last few years
Not even you can help this game
Here's the real Remnant 2 optimization guide:
1. Do not buy unoptimized games. Since the devs will never learn to optimize their games, if people still buy their garbage.
2. Pirate the game from Dodi Repacks which comes with the online crack fix so you can play on the legit Steam and Epic servers with other people if you want.
3. Play on the lowest settings and drop the resolution and enable DLSS until you get 60fps. Or buy a 4090.
4. Enjoy the terrible game. Who now cares if it unoptimized since you got to play it for free.
1. AAA games in general are terribly optimized and usually those who buy AAA games have powerful PCs that can shrug it off or consoles. Besides, AAA games will get optimized in time. People who buy on launch day are either impulsive, have too much money to care, or can live with the launch day experience.
2. You are encouraging the stealing or theft of someone's hard work. Game dev isn't easy. I would like to see how you pull it off
3. You clearly don't pay attention to the video or other similar videos.
4. Yes, maybe in 5 years when it's free on Epic.
I won't continue further because I know you're just here to troll and bait people.
game is good but runs like shit
the graphics settings for this game are terrible and it's optimizatipn is even worse
I'm like this game runs way worse that resident evil 4 remake and looks worse in general. Still fun though
