We don't have that in our language.

For Adidas, think first about
Adi Dassler the founder, pronunce him first and directly after that say adidas.
With Volkswagen, think of folk.

das ist natürlich korrekt, er hieß Adolf, aber für die Eselsbrücke nützt einem das in dem Moment eher weniger. Zu kompliziertes denken hilft also weniger.☺️

which is pronounced with a more open o and the L is actually spoken in contrary to the L in folk/fohk

It's like people don't know pronuncations of names vary between languages and dialects. Paris, Köln, Nike, Colgate, Porsche, etc. People in different places pronounce them differently. Insane, I know!

I know I'm going to be really dumb here but you pronounced Adidas how Americans would say it. I would say it closely how this 'germans' would say it. It threw me off when I saw the British flag and sounded like American 😂
I really love the diction of german language. Birkenstock is my favorite from all of these. I still remember the moment I heard Obersturmführer for the first time. I didn't know what it means but to this day it sounds great to me. You know the way german pronounce it with certain stance and attitude, it's not pronounced casualy it's pronounced with proudness.

omg, Obersturmführer is a terrible word from the 3rd Reich and we never say it any more ( except for our Neonazis) but you might be right because the Nazis used to pronounce all their military ranks with aggressive effort and attitude like in "Jawohl, mein Führer".
Thankfully that attitude as well as the People have changed. Now, 'Birkenstock' really is a peaceful name, lol.

@@grandmak. For me, it's just a word that sounds great, there must be dozens and dozens of words like that in german language but I don't know them. And we czechs laugh to everything so i don't really understand the concept of terrible words. My dad use to say: Sranda musí být ikdyby tatu věšeli which can be loosly translated to Fun(laugh) has to be even if they are hanging your father. :-)

"Correctly" in German, not when speaking English. In English a "v" is not an "f". Germans don't pronounce American brands with an American accent. This is childish.
Although Mercedes-Benz was founded in Germany, the name comes from his daughter which is Spanish. So it would have the “tha” with the “c” (merthedes)
Wrong. She was Austrian. But if you make pronunciation dependent from originally being a spanish name then almost every brand is pronounced wrongly. Especially the naik or naiki brand.
