@@nator1654 True, FS2020 still needs alot of work though. Getting in close and those textures are jumbled in ALOT of places. I landed a Icon in a small stream and there were cancerous house textures embedded in the banks. I mostly envy the performance you can get on FS2020 more than the graphics.
The map is already 50 GB in size though

30:13 my hometown “Samandag” in Turkey . It just in the border in Syria. Turkey border starts when you have passed that mountain but people are still Arabic actually . If you go bit more East in Syria from Latakia , there is “Idlib” town which is really hot zone nowadays around m-4 m-5 roads because of the conflict between Russia+Syria against Islamic rebels+Turkey. Both sides deployed advanced technological war systems. You might see many different actions there..

The crispy ac130 at 37:07 is for fire training. If you look at Raf valley on Google maps you see a crispy hawk t1 at the end of the runway

Actually, the lake's original name that is written in the Bible and used in Israel is Kineret.
The name Sea of Galilee made its appearance later on in the New Testament.
This map looks like it will be great for all kinds of stuff.

@@CakePrincessCelestia I also didn't know what it was called in my language, but when Wags mentioned them I realized he was talking about those things right away somehow :) Seems like a fitting name, even though I have no idea why do I think so :))
The AL Hajar airport on the elevated coast was worth the price of the entire map. AFAIK it is the only runway that is not flat and has a very noticable altitude change. It can be very tricky because it is not like the other runways you could land a shuttle on so you really need to practice up on your short field and pinpoint skills.
I hope to join the Grim Reapers soon, I have the A-10A I am in training. I plan to get the F-18, F-16 and the A-10C. Expensive. I guess all get the F-18 first. I practice everyday. The A-10A isnt the greatest but it gives me raw experience to destroy targets and fly correctly. Until I get the high end high fidelity cockpits and you know actual radar. Finding targets in the A-10A can be difficult without radar. My X52 Logitech HOTAS isn't very good, its wonky, hard to keep the aircraft stable. I have the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. But I am not breaking those out until I get really good at this. Plus I need a bigger desk to use them. And materiials to keep them dust free. They cost $560 bucks! So I don't want to start using them, until I master this. I am sure when I do use them it will be a dream. Anyone suggest software that can make the X52 HOTAS better? I tried this one software, where you can draw curves, seemed to make things worse for flight control. I know the X52 is just crap. The default dead zones seemed to be the best to use.

Leave the inputs native and then edit the curves in game. I recommend the viggen if you don't have a good hotas setup as it doesn't require much in the way of hotas and teaches you in simple terms each of the most common ground attack techniques. Plus it's just gangster as shit. I flew all the FC3 planes, a viggy and the fishbed with a beat ass old logitech Extreme 3D, a webcam and an ARUCO code taped to my forehead, and even attempted the warthog, but it was too much of a pain to manage all the custom modifiers for the one hat switch to do ALL the hotas functions. I blew up one of my old ass gtx 670s taking off in a fishbed at night, in the rain, so no more DCS for me until I get a better PC. You should be chillin with the hardware you have, just watch all the GR tutorials and the other DCS content creators and you should get decent pretty quickly.
PS, the hog really only uses radar with respect to the jammer and the RWR, target aquisition is done with the litening pod using TV, IR or laser. The viggen is about the only plane that uses ground scanning radar for acquisition, and that only plots a point on your flight computer as a waypoint, it doesn't track a signature. If you want to practice BVR combat and air to air stuff in general, get the eagle. The F-15 is a superb air to air platform and is only a FC3 low fidelity model, so your head wont spin like if you tried to fly the falcon or hornet.

I really hope they put Cyprus in. I will get to fly over houses I lived in & take off from airfields I actually flew planes from.
There are a lot of airbases in Syria because so many countries are “helping”. They all want to have their own facilities.
That was pretty cool CAP and RC and nicely done. Fabulous map and it seems huge. Is it bigger than the Caucuses map both in size and landmass?? Really looking forward to see a big fat Campaign with GR and TFR (where Ill be Campaigning with the lads), once DCS sort out the dynamic gameplay.

Now that 2.7 is out with the pretty clouds it seems Syria runs MUCH smoother now. I held off on getting it. But now that 2.7 is out I have it and am loving it. I had tried it when they had the play for free events and it lagged bad.

Cap I really think with over 100K subscribers, and as much Advertising and Promotions you have done on your Chanel for Dcs World, The least Eagle-Dynamics, Wagner, DCS World owners Could do is provide you with a nice gaming system to help show off there products to the best of it's ability. Heck I alone own like 70% of DCS's Modules because of you and GR. If I had the cash I would buy you one myself. I'm thankful for all the time and effort you put into making the video's & tutorials that help us. You guys that don't make video's may not know how much time goes into them. 30:00 You get an A in Geography ... but an F in History my Friend. That mountain is called "al-Jabal al-Aqra'a" which means the Bald Mountain (logical huh?), it in Syria, but on the borders with Turkey. I come from Swaida, to the south near the Yarmouk River you followed and liked at the beginning of the video. Golan Heights are Syrian (UN-recognized so), but currently occupied by Israel. I love aviation, but my heart achs now watching this, Syrian Assad (tyrant) and Russian airstrikes and barrel bombed all these nice cities and towns. more than half the population had to flee including myself. We can now recognize the aircraft or ground missile type from its sound; but it makes the heart stop beating and crunch

Polar opposite of Channel Map. The optimization used in this map must be applied to Channel asap! I still love Caucasus as I recently used the latest Terrain Texture and Better Trees Mods that came out in the last 2 weeks.

t persian gulf is still better for multiplayer due to the 2 separate mainlands, which have a better red vs blue dynamic.

54:54 That's called LOD (level of detail) and works kinda like you said, a mesh "mipmap". Although mipmap is automatic by the engine, whilst in LOD you have to remake the model several times with less and less polygons on it

It is digital combat simulator after all, it doesn't say anything about air only. Who knows if they expand to ground units in the future.

37:04 "What the hell is that?" It's a fire training area. They have a mockup aircraft they can set on fire to practice on.
If you set up a cold start A-10C II instant action mission, it starts at this airfield, and if you look around, you can see this on fire with some trucks around it. At least I did yesterday (29 Jan 2022).
You're talking about the number of airbases and how they have so many of them. Where I live (Houston Texas), a quick google search tells me we have 33 airfields in the Greater Houston area, 2 of which are major commercial Airports, 3 of which I know anecdotally operate as limited military as well as commercial and are medium to large as well. I remember reading about a neighborhood where people keep their aircraft behind their houses that are "attached" to the airfield. (sounds like a nightmare to me).
San Antonio (180 miles west of here) has 4 large military (or former military) Air Bases, as well as a very large Army base with all it's attendant limited Helipads and small airfields. This on top of the commercial air field and all the normal small to medium fields.
All of this is to say, lots of airbases feels normal to me

But seriously, the scenery and weather are just about the best they have going for them, and it is usually as impressive as what you get from any sat overlay. Like you said, when flying high it looks great... well so does Google Earth.
The rest is pure rubbish, full of bugs, unfinished and unusable. Why do you think no one is doing a detailed “cold” start video of any fs airplanes? Because nothing inside is modeled.

Myself is having a great time flying in areas I know. It’s detailed enough for me to navigate visually everywhere I go.
I’ve noticed that several of the Syrian Airfields seem to be incomplete at the moment.
Incirlik is a joint US-Turkey and NATO base. That's why it's so huge. There are even some B61 nukes there

Hey cap for a big 50v50 mission on the syria map you could do a "protect beiruit" where the blues have to protect beiruit and stop the reds from making too much damage. and the reds have to cause as much damage as possible

Incirlik AB is jointly used by the USAF and the TAF. USAF assets include tankers, F15`s, A10`s. "N" weapons are stored there

Does this map come with a list of every static target that each country has? I mean the targets the map maker put in for us?
I think just like any dcs map that youre gonna have to put the targets in yourself, unless its landmarks or infrastructure
Hey there does anyone know why the prices on all dcs modules increased so very much? I’ve checked on both steam and on the original dcs website and for example: the f18 just some days ago costed 50~ dollars but now it costs 80~ dollars. Can someone please explain to me what could or has happened?
Edit: the modules’ original standard prices didn’t seem to be having any discounts on them
ED put their cut from 30% to 50% so prices had to go up. I *think* that was the reason.
