Scotty has to be one of the nicest guys on the planet! He helped me program my Panamera Turbo garage opener which is ridiculously hard. If you’re having a similar issue you better call Scotty otherwise “good luck”. You won’t find the “correct” instructions ANYWHERE on the internet- or at least I couldn’t and i looked for days. Thanks again Scotty and thanks to Porsche of Ocala for posting these very helpful video’s

Kudos to Scotty. Without this step-by-step video there is no way that I would have figured this out on my own. Thank you for saving us hours of time and frustration. Much appreciated and all the best.

The infotainment system in the 992 generation is terrible! Terrible!

  • @robertwadeexpertkidsdentist

WOW. Thanks! Nobody at Porsche could help me with this. You are a lifesaver. 👍

Brilliant! This worked perfectly for me. I previously gave up trying to program the HomeLink when following the Porsche manual. Thanks much!

Big thanks. After I hit the garage button I just went back in the car and clicked the number I wanted to assign the spot to. Voila. Nice video.

My god, I was missing the part where I have to click that secret button on my actual garage lift machine or whatever. This helped a lot! Thank you.

Thank You Sir. New 992 Turbo S and using the 'clicker' until I found your video! The users manual falls short if the instructions to program the garage door opener fail. (No plan B except Google)

I followed all directions but for some reason my Genie isnt responding to my Porsche. Any other tricks?

I found that Genie Illuminator GL2T won't work with Porsche Homelink.
Porsche Homelink just did not recognize the signal at all.
I'm guessing GL2T generates signals differently from other simpler Genie remotes.
I Had to use an old intellicode remote which fortunately I did not throw away.

I just bought a 992 Turbo S and looked this up to see how to do it. I am coming from a BMW M8 Comp and that I figured how to do on my own in less than 2 minutes and was done in about 3. Why does Porsche make this so difficult?

I've done all this and was able to successfully program my garage door to a homelink profile on my 992 911. The problem comes is after the fact. When I create a shortcut on the PCM home screen. When I do this the button on screen changes between 3 different states, seemingly at random. It can show the name of the profile (Garage Door), it can say "Show all Profiles" or it can say "Configure Homelink Profiles". It is as though it forgets that a profile already exists.
When the button displays the profile name (Garage Door) all I have to do is press it to send the signal. Only 1 click required.
When the button displays "show all profiles" I have to press it to bring up a pop up where I then have to click on the profile name, Garage Door, to send the signal. That's 2 clicks required.
When the button displays "Configure Homelink Profiles" , clicking it takes you to the original set up screen where you can NOT open the door. Instead I have cancel out of the set up screen, to go into the Car Menu, then Homelink profiles and then click on send. That's a total of 5 clicks on 4 different screens in the PCM just to open a garage door.
Cars have had garage door openers in the for several decades. Why in the name of Ferdinand Porsche does this not work in $150k car!!!!

Is there a way to program the garage opener with a physical button if you don’t have sport chrono? What about the personal setting button on the left of the steering wheel?

992 is literally going backward in so many ways! IDIOTS! I have a 997, and it has THREE buttons on the top to open upto THREE different garage doors, WITH a click of button, AND you can do that while driving (doesn't need to be in PARK), this is so ridiculous to go through multiple various menus JUST to open or close the garage door! Those FOUR buttons are needed for other functions, it's idiotic they've removed the basic buttons one needs everyday with stupid touchscreen menus!
