- If only for a few more minutes, Mats Sundin extended the Maple Leafs 2002 playoffs run, scoring the game-tying goal with 23 seconds left in the game. Martin Gelinas would score in OT to end the series.

Bob Cole was not just a master at making a fantastic play call, he also knew when to stop talking and just let the atmosphere of the game speak for itself. He truly made it an art. RIP Bob Cole, no one can even compare
Bob Cole makes that moment magical "and the place goes crazy."
He has that way of elevating his tone and volume of his voice into the moment to amplify what your watching.
Yeah, but it’s usually either Leafs/Sens/Habs games and nothing else.
Absolutely brother
Rest in peace.
From 1994 to 2023, this was the closest Toronto got to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Still the closest
Best Leafs crowd at the now Scotiabank Arena. Beating last night vs Tampa by a bit

I was 20 years old when I saw this game live. Such a different time in the world, in my life, and in the NHL.
I don’t really follow hockey religiously like I did back then but man everytime I see this clip I remember the rush of adrenaline that pumped through me when Sundin tied the game.
Rip Bob Cole 🙏 this call was an all timer.
This was hockey! Bob Cole announcing and Mats Sundin scoring a big goal! The good ol days!
Cole and Neale had style and enthusiasm. Jim Hughson is the auditory equivalent to watching paint dry.
Yes memories for sure
This series hurts me more than the one against the bruins
Our team was stacked DAMN
We had 11 regulars out at one point. This was Sundin's first game since game 6 against the Islanders in the first round. Tucker had missed 4 games. Renberg missed all but 3 games. We had players like Farkas, Dempsey and Donald MacLean taking a regular shift in the playoffs after playing 30 games combined in the regular season.
The one thing was Curtis Joseph had missed all of March that year, coming back to play the last 2 games of the regular season before going into the playoffs fresh. He, along with Roberts, Mogilny and the unsung heroics of McCauley, carried that team through the injuries.
I have little doubt if they were healthy they would have run Carolina out of the rink all series and faced the Wings in the finals. And with Joseph playing his best hockey in a Leafs uniform, who knows what would have happened there.
Miss these days. RIP to the GOAT Bob Cole.
Bob cole moment..."and the place goes crazy"...we also need to bring back this goal song
Zombie Nation is forever tainted since it was used by the Bs.
I wish this series was talked about more/ had better videos and highlights of full games! Leafs had the better team and should have won this series!
This goal was probably one of the loudest crowd reactions to a Leafs goal at the ACC/Scotiabank Arena
I was there, and game 5 in Raleigh... it was also very heartbreaking to barely get back to my seat for OT and leave heartbroken...
The loudest sound I've ever heard from the acc
"AND THE LEAFS HAVE TIED THE GAME" R.I.P Bob Cole you be missed
The Kaberle fake shot then slider to the net is Defence to Offence 101. Perfect pointman play!
I still get goosebumps watching that moment. Definitely my favorite Sundin moment and possibly leafs moment for the time being.
Leafs fans deserve playoff hockey

@@mrbob424 second most cups in the league
@@keepups1586 Doesn't mean a thing. The franchise is old as dirt; if they didn't have the 2nd most, it would be pathetic. You could be 57 years old and never have the memory of the Toronto Maple Leafs winning the cup.
@@leeham6230 oh yea whats the goal of hockey? To win cups. So I guess your pretty stupid
After what catastrophe happened against the Canadiens in round 1, the Leafs are total joke. They DEFINITELY don’t deserve the playoffs.
Seeing Tucker, Roberts, Mogilny and Sundin all get knocked down. Sundin still buries it. Epic. My favorite leafs team.
and the acc was never that loud again
Was just as loud in game 3 on Monday night.
You're right it won't! It will be louder!!!!!!
The leafs were away this game. See the white jerseys?
@Lee Ham No they were home, there was a point in time where most NHL teams used white jerseys as their home colour.

@@mamaji277 They copied it lol wow bruins leafs need to bring it back for the 2020-2021 if leafs fans really want to be hyped, use the same horn now, but then immediately switch to this part of zombie nation, the Bruins and leafs one are the same song but different part, so then bruins fan wouldn't say u copied us, and technically leafs used the song in 2000, bruins started using it in 2003.
I miss these days and this TML team!!! Ty Mats!!!!
RIP Bob Cole. Legend.
Oh my god, this is it. The most glorious goal in Leafs history on home ice since the Cup win. Who knows what the possibilities are if they make it back to the Stanley Cup Final? Only few can imagine the potential of such an event!

What? Gilmour's wrap around in '93 was the most glorious

RALEIGH!! WE DID IT!!! WE MADE THE FINALS!!!!
This could’ve led to the Leafs’ first Cup Finals appearance in 35 years, but sadly no…
I jumped out of my chair so high I swear my head hit the ceiling
Irbe really stood his ground this whole series.
The proud comeback of the Leafs to the cup finals, until Carolina slammed it.
RIP BOB COLE YOU ABSOLUTE LEGEND
Came here to my favorite Bob Cole moment to remember a Canadian hero, and a hockey great worthy of the Hall of Fame.
R.I.P Bob. Canada is closed today. We lost a member of our family. Thank you for understanding.
"AND THE LEAFS HAVE TIED THE GAME"
What do you see at 0:14? That's all three forwards directly in front of the net as the defenseman is about to shoot. You will NEVER see the current Leafs do this.
Back when no buckets was still a green light, what a damn goal baby
I really wanted to see them match up with Detroit that year in the finals.
We would’ve been swept or lost in 5 games maybe we could’ve taken the redwings to six games at most. But the redwings that year was stacked Yzerman, Shanahan, Hull, Lidstrom, Hasek, Robitaille, Draper, Chelios, Fedorov, Larionov and a rookie named Pavel Datsyuk. All of them now hall of famers
@Chris D Flames basically won the cup in game 6 but a terrible no call was missed and screwed them over
@@codywanschura3824 yea they would stomped the leafs
@@codywanschura3824 true. That's the most stacked team in league history. The base team from 97 and 98 (already loaded) + Hasek, Hull, Robitaille (If I'm not forgetting anyone else).

People ask me why I'm a leaf fan after all these years.

So much noise man. Love it.

You NEVER. STOP. CHEERING.
Man it could’ve been the Leafs vs the Wings in the final, god that would have been so huge. Of course as always the southern market team has to ruin the matchup that people actually want to see.
this leafs team was very underappreciated after watching the past 6 seasons

Irbe's bucket is amazing
The Leafs Needs To Go Back The Way They Were.
I thought they could recapture this magic in the dying minute of game 7. Evidently not.
2002 Hurricanes wouldn't let you breath. Their defensive coverage was almost perfect.
Just like the current Carolina hurricanes team that’s in the conference finals again…could we see a rematch perhaps? Lol
cause they played the neutral zone trap
Leafs seem to have a long history with paul maurice lol
We need this goal song back not this new Mickey mouse song from step Brothers

If this happened now you would have to worry about if they went 1 mm offside or goalie interference before fully celebrating.

The Leafs should have blown those guys away in straight games. Frustrating series.
