    I appreciate your video in that of all the media I have watched/read about the 175D (including the instruction manual) this is the first I'm hearing that a 5G phone is necessary. Looks like I'm stuck with a drone that I can't fully take advantage of.

      Thankyou, but as I have tried to explain many times you don't need a 5G phone, you just need a phone that is 5 GHz WiFi compatible, and most newish phones should be. You definitely don't need a 5G internet phone but a 5 GHz WiFi. They are different things completely.

      Thankyou, double check in your phone , but the 2.4 GHz allows the drone to connect to the transmitter so you can fly line if sight. The 5 GHz allows you to connect the app to the drone and drones camera so you can see on the screen what the camera sees

    Hey 2cat. Have a problem. Lost my 720e. I have 4 batteries for this drone. All were full charged. The first 3 batteries when I installed went dead right after calibration. The forth one finally stay charged after calilibration. Did a propeller test n the drone took off on its own. Tried to fine the line of site but had no idea which way it went. Was trying to do the return to home and nothing. Looked and looked. There was a forest to my left. Tried the gps app but there was no video feed after 2 hours the controller batteries went dead. Something strange is happening here. 17 satellites I was out in the country so no geofencing.
    Do you any suggestions??
    Would holy stone possibly come good for another one or suggest some help?

    Hi Sir, Thanks for your video. I bought this drone a few days ago, and I followed your instructions and everything ok, the problem is that when I go outdoors the drone stays in "optical mode" always, I have changed the place three times and the results are the same, I can't get the "gps mode".
    If it is in the 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz it is the same. (The camera image is working ok)
    Do you have any idea what's going on?
    Thanks in advance

    • @2CatMedia
      @2CatMedia  Před 2 lety

      I have not tested it as of yet, so I don't know if it does say gps mode, I was only summising. But the optical mode it is supposed to be both indoors and outdoors up to 20 metres in hight. So I would suggest taking it up to say 30+ metres if it safe to do so and see if it changes. It may be that it does not tell you at all, but I would hope it would tell you how many satélites it's connected too. You can also try flying it say 20+ metres away and at a safe height, the press the return to home button. If the GPS is working it should rise up to the selected height then return home close to you.

    Hi good video but can you explain about the wifi please. I have a Huawei y9 19 I have 4g but what you seem to be saying is the to use the HS we will all have to get a 5g phone. My 2nd question is wifi won't work unless you have an outside connection, is that what you have or am I missing something.. Dan

    • @2CatMedia
      @2CatMedia  Před rokem

      Hi Dan,
      No you don't need a 5G phone. A 5G phone refers to the newer high speed mobile internet connection it is capable of from your mobile phone provider. Most phones have 4G mobile internet connection and the new phones may have the faster 5G mobile internet connection. This uses internet data as part of your mobile phone package. So if you say had a 10gb mobile internet data allowance every month, everytime you used it, it would come off that.
      What I'm talking about is a 5ghz WiFi network connection not a 5G phone. They are different things. Every phone will have a WiFi connection, to connect to an external network to get internet such as a home network or a public hot spot. You would use the WiFi connection to maybe get a network/internet connection when you can't get a mobile connection. So if you are in a coffee shop and you have either a 4G or the new 5G phones and the signal is not great you may be able to join a WiFi network so you can connect to a more stable hard wired networks. So each phone regardless of if it is a 4G or 5G mobile internet phone will connect to either a home or public network if you allow it too so it can use internet from that WiFi connection rather than rely on the mobile internet as part of your phone contract. The WiFi connection is what we are talking about here, not the mobile internet connection. Even if you had no mobile data allowance left as part of your phone contact, you can always connect via a WiFi connection at home or in public where available. A WiFi connection is recognised as a GHz connection. Just like when a home network router sends out your home internet via WiFi to certain devices in a certain GHz range.that could be a 2.4ghz signal or 5 GHz signal. Both send out data in a similar way but 2.4ghz is longer ranged but 5 GHz can go through walls better but is shorter ranged. So with a drone it will in essence be its own router. It will send out a certain GHz signal to the transmitter so it can be controlled, that will typically be 2.4ghz. if it has a camera it will also send out a 5ghz signal which will link from the camera to your mobile device so you can see what the drone sees.
      All phones should have a 2.4 GHz WiFi connection but some of the cheaper or older phones may not also have the 5 GHz WiFi connection. So in that case your drone would not be able to send the video signal to your mobile phone, because your mobile phone would need to connect to the drones WiFi signal much like you may connect to a router at home or in public, only at home or in public you would be connecting to WiFi in order to get internet access. But, in this case you are connecting to the drones network in order to use that signal to see the video live feed it is sending.
      So you just need a 2.4 GHz and 5ghz network connection (WiFi) on your phone regardless of if your phone is a 4G or a 5G mobile internet phone.

I feel privileged.. secondly I think you can see I'm a total beginner at the drone game and for one reason or another I've homed in on the HS 175.. Hi butch,
      Thankyou for sharing, I get your point about the batteries, but unless you use a multi meter then you not going to know the quality of the voltage or level. I would probably consumer a lie battery as storage. But if you plan on using it say once a week I would just keep it charged. I've never had an issue really in regards to that.
