How is a company legally allowed to overload you?
Such a violation should be on the company, not the driver.

If you are fueling securing Etc then yes you should stay on duty those are on duty requirements but when you were sitting at a shipper for extended periods of time knows you have no special requirements other than sitting there so you can go off duty and do a split

There's no CSA points in an overweight ticket. It's a violation, and they have different levels depending on how heavy you are, but no points of any kind

I was hired by Western Express in VA and everything you mentioned about them is like you were riding shotgun with me. It's uncanny how you had the same problems as I did.
Thinking about buying two quad axle dump trucks and running out of my local quarry with one employee.... then maybe try to grow from there.
I grew up with a couple guys from Uniondale on Long Island. You remind me so much of them! Keep making these daily hits if you can. Good stuff my man! God Bless!

You are not responsible for weights just tandem placement. It's common courtesy to let the company know that your over weight so they and make the call but your 5th wheel to center rear tandem wheel has got to be right. Most states is 41 ft but ky la Al tx ga ms don't have one for a 53' tandem trailer you can have your tandem slid all the way back in those states I think ca is 40' but it's been a long time sense I've been there. There is charts you can buy and I think it's in the fmcsa hand book or you can just call dot in the states you're driving through and ask. The company is responsible for weights tickets and the driver is responsible for the tandem distance ticket

If you’re OTR with a California address, you’re either lazy or dim… or both. Even as a company driver, you should find a carrier that will pay you 1099. Set up your LLC, and write off everything. Then you work your clock as best you can.
