Western isn't as bad as people say. Look at the people complaining, most have never worked a job b4. Its a 2nd chance, or beginner place. Same as most big companies, the night, n weekend dispatcher aren't plugged in.

Do not let them know you're leaving until After you're at your home terminal and you've cleaned the truck out ! Trucking companies are very petty ! They will leave you stranded !
YMMV..... if you been treated decently then act in kind. Regardless, keep the truck clean, move all personal items out beforehand. Just pack a small travel bag. I used a throwaway sleeping bag. I scheduled my departure for the same time as my off time. It works out. Take lots of pictures of truck and trailer, send them to your dispatcher. Thank them for their time and patience with you. Hey, everyone likes an attaboy. Even if you are bitter, just part with class.
A friend of mine left western express and his final check was also untampered with. However he fell asleep and when he woke up his wife was pregnant! 😂

Pick what you think are necessary to your safety and pay are essential.Comfort is secondary but does add an element to longevity of your overall health later down the road of life. I love trucks but the actual finding of that specific driving job that meet all criteria is a dream trust me. You will settle and thats not a bad thing. I've had many trucking jobs. One of the Biggest No Nos is unsafe truck. The majority of my career was fighting safety mechanical issues, but safety wants you to be safe oxymoron. Sayings like "We treat you like family." RUN "We have an open door policy." RUN sign on back of truck hiring RUN Good jobs dont advertise constantly.Good jobs dont have high turnover rates. Good jobs dont necessarily pay well. Good jobs have well maintained equipment. Good jobs have professionals talking to you. We are not slaves. We are human beings. Dont take that job if it does meet your basic human requirements. Remember alway have respect for yourself if you don't no one else will.
