Thank you so much for the videos, they are very helpful. I am designing an addition for my parents and was having issues so i was wondering if i could do a video request. The problem I am facing is the addition is butting perpendicular to the existing house, same roof peak height, but the walls on the addition are going to be 8' but the walls on the existing house is 7'6". If you need additional info let me know, i have the project in solid works so I can send you a screen shot if needed. Thank you for all you do!

Design 101 Tip:
Never design a bathroom door opening visible from either the kitchen or living room.

That is a great tip. Be wary of design tips that don't work well on smaller projects.

@@gregvancom I just finished building a 400 sq ft ADU and I had that very issue so I realized that if I re-designed it as an L shaped building I was able to make it work perfectly with the bathroom door in a tiny hallway, facing away from the kitchen and LR.

I tend to agree, i never liked designing bathrooms that have a clear view to any living space opening other than bedrooms or in hallways. Unfortunately, sometimes we're constrained by space so we don't have many options.
