As a Canadian- if you get ketchup chips (or any chips) get Old Dutch brand. Also, you can and should miss anything Tim Hortons. Large cities have amazing 3rd wave coffee and pastries. Timbits just come from a freezer bag.

oh we have the second one in Argentina and it's a national dish... 😅 we have it with sugar. my mom used to bake them when I was a kid and she would let me go crazy with quince jam. That was our mediatarde/snack. she had them with mate, and I would have it with mate cocido or tea❤ it brings fond memories from my childhood

The beaver tail looks like a Mexican treat we called buñuelos. It's also a fried dough topped with cinnamon and sugar. If you live outside of Canada and you have a Mexican bakery around they should have them. I mean it's basically a churro just flat.

It's actually called Fry Bread and is a Native American/Alaskan Native food. It's not a Canadian dish at all. It's American, and Native American more specifically.

I love poutine! Only thing I swap my cheese curbs with tonsil stones or garlic cloves because of the flavour. People need to try tonsil stones with fries because of the sour flavour that adds to it. Gonna dig for some stones now!

I have been in Canada so many times when I lived in Alaska. Went up and down the Cassiar and Al-Can probably 100 times from the Lower 48 back to AK. I NEVER found but one restaurant that my family could stand the food in. It was a Russian cafe in a little out if the way town that I cannot remember now. Canadian food is the most bland tasteless food I ever ate. My husband said that only English food was more tasteless! He was stationed there for 2 years. Don't believe any of this! The only thing that would be enticing would be the Native Fry Bread if fresh fried.

Love this list. (Except the ketchup chips I've never tried them) I've only had a Beavertail once in my life and I feel like I was too young to appreciate it.. it was in Ottawa too (I'm not from Ottawa we don't have them really in my city) I want to try one so bad again !
Nanaimo bar is I think one of the goats of desserts.
I went through a huge Butter Tart phase as well I like them still but not as much as I used too.
This is just perfect I'm so proud of it being Canadian lol
