- A common problem when picking door locks or deadbolt locks is having difficulty picking the lock in the correct direction to open the lock, but very little difficulty when picking the lock in the opposite direction. Today I'll show you an extremely useful and very inexpensive tool called a "Plug Spinner". Enjoy the video!

You just showed crooks how to break into someone's home by stealing or even worse. Fast Forward to 2022 were evil is on the rise. You need to take all your videos down. Repent to Jesus Christ, before the is evil at your front door. For we are living in bible prophecy times. We are now in the beginning stages of birth pains. God is mad at the world. His wrath is coming.. Don't stay on the wrong side for the Lord already WON by sacrificing..for our sins. Keeping these video's up is a sin no matter if you had good intentions. Your helping to put peoples lives in danger.

Thanks for the video,. I do Bank safe deposit locks for a living, have general lock picks for picking flat pin locks. But dead bolt locks have given me a fit from picking the wrong way. That took is cool . Thanks for the Banggood link. Just ordered one 👍
Somethings should not be shared publicly. This is one of them!
This is nothing, you should see what other channels show. LOL
Getting a bunch of these tools - I have 10 rental properties and the renters constantly lock their keys inside the house, or the wife or boyfriend / girl friend or husband has them in their car at work and I just locked the house and can't get in. If I'm already in town and don't have my landlord key set, I have to go home and get them, or keep these in the truck and use them to open the door. I charge the renters $20 if I have to come and open the door, and doing this 3 times will pay for all this stuff !!!!! Keep making these great videos with links to new lock opening tools !!!!!! Thank you !!!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Please share. Thanks
Awesome! Now if I have a little time I can use the nice staff bathrooms at school!

I've seen a lot of LPL videos, but not one that covered it being easier to pick in one direction vs another... There aren't many locks that present a challenge to him though, so maybe it isn't a concern for him anymore. Glad to see info from another source.
I just got one. Now on the next lock out, I'll be covered if I pick it locked😎 or if it picks easier to the locked position.

But there are many methods to opening locks. This video shows only one simple technique.

+electronicsNmore - Presumably, the plug spinner can be set to spin clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on the situation. How is this done? Does one turn the knob on the back of the tool to preload a coil spring inside, then pull the trigger once the bit is inserted into the keyway?
Rotating the rear knob and locking it into position either direction, loads the spring. Thanks for watching! Please share.
Your presumptions are 100% correct.

good tool. thank you.
You're welcome!
Short version. Pick the lock to the closed position, insert spin tool, then use tge tool to rapidly spin the cylinder to the open position.
What is tge tool?
what makes the lock cylinder more difficult to pick in the correct direction? in my experience, a few styles of deadbolts rotate opposite of the bolt. does the "turn" of the inside bolt have a direct relation to the outside lock cylinder?
Murphy's Law .... for whatever reason, it will "always be easier" to pick to the lock position. In most cases you can pick it unlocked properly, but sometimes those damn things will only pick one way, which as luck would have it, is the locked position. Always have a plug spinner, and if you can afford it, don't get the plastic $10.00 special. They don't always have enough torque to spin the cylinder properly.
Good video, very useful electronicsNmore!
Good video.

Cool tool, would you be able to achieve a similar result with a drill and a small flat piece of steel? Looks like all the tool does is spin fast so it doesn’t allow the pins to catch again. But maybe I’m wrong.
It's possible, but the drill may not snap as fast, and the drill can damage the plug if you don't use a very low torque setting. Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out my locksmith video playlist below and share.

So many things in the US are poor due to the patriotic obligation to buy local product that is mostly over priced and overrated.

Not too secure!
What does that have to do with this video? If you want a secure Master Lock, then you need to do as shown in my other video.
czcams.com/video/IEfV6nImbLM/video.html
Howdy Abe. You should see a variety of locks at Home Despot. Buy only Grade 9 or 10, and they cannot be opened with tricks, and can't be attacked by bolt cutters neither. I just got robbed, I'm buying a double keyed set for 27.00 for two locks. They are probably 50% bigger that the standard #5 Master Locks I've always used. I'm also making massive strong frames for my kicked in doors, and the locks need to be intimidating too. All the best, Patrick :-)
As I tell my customers, security is an illusion, and locks are for "honest" thieves.

Very nice video. After the Plug spinner does the lock still work or completely destroyed? It seems it works with shock/impact and seems like it will destroy the lock after handful trials?
Yes, the lock is just fine. Be sure to share my channel with others and look over my extensive video playlists for other great videos of interest to you. Thanks!
I'm a retired locksmith. The plug spinner doesn't destroy the lock. All it does is simulate a VERY fast key turn. Much like the old trick of pulling a tablecloth out from under the dishes, it relies on inertia to keep the pins up, while the chambers in the plug shoot past.
All the thieves have enjoyed your video !!!!
Whats the action on the tool resemble? Like a center punch?
Is it possible to do the initial pick, and then take a flat head screwdriver (or some such), jam it in the key hole and turn the cylinder as fast as you can counterclockwise past the sheer line - before the driver pins fall into place?
Alternatively maybe using a powerful drill with a flat head bit to try the same result?
You cannot spin it fast enough.
Excellent tip.

@@electronicsNmore Indeed :)
I never imagine I will need this video, we got an old house with 6 bedrooms, each one have an old lock with an old fancy key and on top a DEADLOCK! but not keys for any of them, but not problem, I never lock my bedroom, but today came back after driving 4 hours to find myself at 11:04 locked out of my bedroom! Now I cannot imagine where I am going to sleep if I cannot unlock this thing, plus I am afraid "somebody" is locking himself in my room, because the only way you can lock this deadbold is from inside, where is not a keyhole!
Will you like the idead of a stranger sleeping on your bed? Since we just moved we do not have a sofa or big chair yet, first we want to repaint the whole house, okay, we do not have furniture yet, only beds and we have boxes of stuff unopened yet, also.
You see them on TV pick the lock & open the door, but they didn't turn the tumbler to rotate the bolt back. They're doing no more than sticking a key in the lock, ya still have to turn it, & I'm no locksmith. Ahh, the magic of TV.
Great! Now anybody can learn the art of breaking and entering.
If you think "the bad guys pick locks" then you're sadly mistaken. They're dumb and lazy. (That's why they're crooks.) There is nothing shown in this video that those proverbial bad guys don't already know. Besides, they're not going to bother picking a lock when it's faster to kick a door in, or smash a window. Picking locks is one of the LEAST USED methods of entry for criminals.

It’s not that easy...but if you have a plug spinner... well 🤷🏿♂️
@@donutviper1 ... The plug spinner (and I wish he had used the proper term) only helps if you have the lock picked in the wrong direction. I've only done this a few times. Yeah I can do the same thing faster with just paper clips, But I do like that tool you made, Paper clips aren't durable and bend easily.... To much activities for one lock, It's easier to just use regular picks or paperclips, The rake technique works easy with paper clip's....
Casy Leer you’re full of shit.....
@ You can with a large paperclip. It's just MUCH slower and more tedious, because the paperclip tends to bend, hang, and snag when you try to manipulate the pins. If you have more money than time, it's hardly worth the time.
With spool pins too? I think not. Tension will bend the paper clips
@@wing9856, I got it covered now, I took a grinder and made my own lock picks from a screwdriver, They work and don't bend either....

While a thief is messing with the lock the wireless alarm system has already notified
Look up the Lock Picking Lawyer on YT for examples (no affiliation). Look up his bucket list or whatever he calls it, you'll see it on his list of uploads. No lock is thief proof. If someone wants in, they'll find a way. When the lock is too complex, they find an easier way in.. like smashing a window. Deterring a thief (with home alarm signs, or beware of Rottweiler) goes a long way.
@Leon Kiriliuk 100% correct!
Thank you. My mom put a deadbolt on her panty drawer. This helps.
Very nice.
Yeah but how am I gonna remember this when I am full of beer at the end of the night and have forgotten my keys? 😞
You were pretty specific about clockwise turn locking the door and counterclockwise unlocking, but didn't say that it was due to the lock being on the right side of the door. If the door opens in the opposite direction, clockwise would unlock and counter would lock. Could be confusing to some without specifying direction of opening the door. Great video otherwise.

Also, in the real world of homeowner installed locks, at least 30% are installed upside down. And that changes the picking direction.
A sharp knife to cut through the vinyl siding and a saw to cut through the wood inside. Carry a door with you to make it look like you're putting in a new door :p
What's the last tool you used what kind of gun is that
Thanks. Now someones gonna break into my house after watching this.
If they do, they won't be using lock picks.
The fastest way to drill off a lock is to place the drill bit just to the right and left of the keyhole. It will hit the screws and turn them backward and then the screws and lock fall right off. Its way faster than drilling the pins out. Of course, you need a new lock after that.....but yeah, nice video for picking.
Thanks for watching Terry!
Incorrect. Drilling the top of the keyway is almost always the most productive approach.
Drilling the shear line doesn't allow the pins to drop. And in a POS deadbolt like yours it's easier to drill for the mounting screws on either side and the deadbolt falls on the floor - no skill required. A Rytan plug spinner is my tool of choice for lock flipping after picking or bumping.
Mostly correct. When you drill out the shear line, most of the pins are drilled away, but some partial upper pins/fragments can and will fall down when the twist drill is removed. Thanks for watching
So true. A-1 plug spinner is also nice. I have had many years of service from my "knuckle buster" .
Always look easy when a master in their craft is doing it. When I do it.....nothing happens😂😂
You can learn, it takes practice. :-)
You don't drill the keyway to allow pins to fall! Above pins are springs which can jam pretty damn quick when twisted between plug and housing! You drill the shear line, trapping the top and bottom pins respectively which allows the plug to turn.
I've drilled out a few keyways before, never a problem. The top pins and springs fall down and out.
Instead of buying a tool, try your Cordless Driver/drill. All u need is a thin edged (grind down if needed) slotted head driver from your Driver bits...and ur done. Of course the Picking part is what takes some time.
May not snap as fast as a spring.
