It's also useful as a decoder if you want to re-key locks without taking all the cores apart.
Just checked out your site for the first time and I have got to say, I LOVE that you have these for automotive style locks, I will absolutely be ordering these in the near future. Absolute game changer for me being able to decode.
I can watch you pick locks for hours, so satisfying!
I’m a paramedic. I routinely have calls where grandma fell, can’t get up, and doors are locked. Usually the Fire dept has to come and gain entry for us with tools meant to separate doors from frames. I have thought about getting picks to prevent delayed entry and the use of force which sometimes damages their doors. This seems like a great product for me to consider for my gear. Every door I’ve came across has been standard KW style.
The problem with these specific tools is that you need a different one for every keyway. So the costs add up really quickly.
But, if you can convince work to pay for it, do it!
That would be an excellent application for it!
@@ScottKenny1978 Having work 'pay' for it, would decrease YOUR pay increase.
For a paramedic in an emergency there are MUCH easier ways to gain entry without picking the lock. For example, a traveler hook will gain entry to most residential locks without damaging and much quicker than picking.

After seeing it, I bought three of these (SC4, AM5, and M1/MS2) though never really got around to getting good at them. I've used decoders before (for the tubular locks) but just hadn't spent the time getting good at picking locks with spools and didn't need these for locks without them.
Until today. My sister purchased some more locks for her new apartment and I was re-keying them to our family's master-key system. However, one of the deadbolts came with the wrong keys in the box..
No problem! Pulled out the SC4 decoder, opened the cylinder once, then promptly disassembled it. This saved me so-unbelievably-much time.
Also my first time "picking" a cylinder with spools, though the purist in me doesn't quite buy that this is picking (but I did at least /feel/ the spools distinctly, which is more than I've done before).
So again, thank you for making this video and letting me know these exist! Even if it did take a year for me to actually get around to using it!

It's an interesting debate, but it's user dependent. Very good example would be nitrous canisters for whipped cream in catering. If you happen to be looking around an area and police stop you with picks, might be more than enough to say your intentions may not be legal. As a beginner with picking sets bought from your website I agree that finding the pin positions is the main challenge for me
LPL should use these locks on some higher security locks so we can see how false gates are picked or what security pins do :) incredibly informative !
YES!
Seconded. I want to see how hard it is to pick really good locks with these things!
It won't be really any different than using traditional tools - spools will give counter rotation in a false set, serrated pins will bind more often etc. Also I think you meant "false set" not "false gate". Gates are only a thing on combination locks.
@@nutbastard Gates are also present on Disk Detainer locks
The ABUS lock he picked first _is_ pretty high security. It has several security pins. LPL is just really good at it, and made it look easy. The Lishi pick isn't going to save you from security pins, it will just take away some ambiguity for the beginner. It will also make making a copy (of the key) easier.
The fact that these are already sold out is highly concerning 😂
@Fallen Engel the problem is not that there is not enough supply, it's the fact that there are so many people trying to pick locks.... Watch out for theft and robberies lol

WOW!!! That’s a BRILLIANT tool!!!🤯🖤🤘
I just tried this tool on my BMW motorcycle. I had both top and side case opened in something like 10 minutes. I have never picked a lock in my life. Amazing!

Love your videos I can undo most pad locks and some cheap house locks with my homemade picks still trying to make a decoder tool 😂 but as we say all in fun
I'm fascinated by what you do. Totally interested. Thx.
I feel like I know the back of your hands better than the back of my own hands.
This actually really helps in visualizing what you are actually doing
Yep, knowing this is key....
@@SmilingDevil I see what you did there
After watching several different lock picker how-to videos, yours included and most preferred, I have ordered me a lock picking kit from Amazon that has three different lucite training locks, for a total of only $32, I believe. I work night shift driving a yard jockey truck, and many times hours go by with no trailer moves to make, which gives me plenty of time to work at learning to pick, while getting paid at the same time! Thank you for giving us all these wonderful videos!
3 weeks later: How is your progress?
@@Jehty21 wow I got a reply? Awesome. My progress is as such: I continue to pick and re-pick the 7 locks I have. I bought a cheap set of those tubular lock impressioning tool set. Have yet to find a lock I can try it on. The Walmart store didn't have any. There's a vending machine where I work that has one, but I'm not even going to come close to touching it. Be my luck the FBI would run in on me while I was doing it. (I have no ill intent. I just want to learn.) Since I started I bought two books on the subject of picking locks. I was NOT pleased with them. I have since thrown them in the trash. Because I've learned tons more by watching CZcams videos. I bought two locks at the Dollar tree, and believe it or not they're giving me a harder time than anything. Master locks are a joke, as you and everyone else knows. My interest has not waned any. It's a fascinating subject. (Or else I am easy to impress.) I don't know if I told you before I bought a $40 Amazon automotive or entry set. I mostly need it in case somebody else needs to get into there vehicle. It's pretty nice set. I would advertise that I would pick lock for free, but I recently found out that the small town of Urbana Ohio that I live in has a corrupt Police department. The police chief has been the police chief for 53 years! So all I would be doing would be getting myself into trouble by advertising. Ohio does not regulate locksmithing, I found out. Thanks for asking about my progress. I sure wasn't expecting somebody to check up on me. Certainly not you. I would have figured you to be too busy.

Not to sound like a know it all, but if you ever looked at those transparent practice locks, and then connected it to his movements, this video would have been unnecessary for you.
I have one of those clear practice locks that I've picked plenty of times, but seeing the pick against a scale just makes it click different.

Very handy set of tools

One of the few comedy moments when he said "not sure what is happening with four".
I want to see LPL in a Lishi Superbowl Ad. Picture this: Tom Cruise is struggling to open a maximum security vault in a Mission Impossible style heist, so he phones LPL, and LPL comes to the scene. You see his silhouette casually stroll up to the vault with his hands in his pockets. His soothing voice pacifies Tom Cruise in his most desperate hour of need.
"Click out of 3...5 is set...1 is loose...Click out of 4...aand it's open. So yeah guys I would recommend Lishi for beginners and professionals alike." LPL hands Tom Cruise a beer. Tom tries to open it before realizing the top is padlocked. When he looks up, LPL is already walking away.
YES! or SNL
Lol holy crap, that'd be awesome XD Great imagination btw! :D
Keep going, I'm nearly there!
I'm just picturing a beer can with a padlock through the opening latch's hole :D

I wish he used these more often, they make it very easy to see what he's doing.
At this point, I'll just keep my door open.
Yeah, might as well go full Canadian and give up on locking your front door, matter of fact building off of that you could go with the preferred "Take it, I dare you" method of old America where you wait with a shotgun aimed at your front door... I mean it'll be pretty effective albeit time consuming.
Just replace your door with concrete wall

Gilera runner mopeds you pull a R clip off with your fingers then turn the back of the barrel round also with your fingers and they start right up lol also the old honda cub 90 they have 6 pins in 2 rows of 3 all u have to do is stick a hairpin or paperclip in hole 3 and hole 5 and it goes or once i didnt have said paperclip so i bit through the 3 and 5 pin wires with my teeth and twisted them together lol good times
These decoders are great! But last night I found a critical weakness of them. And that is lever handles where the door open on the right. Because the decoder ends up in the bottom side and I could do the front door as it was grabbing onto the pick itself preventing an easy removal, on top of it snowing, it was one of the more difficult emergency jobs I've had to do, and I've been doing this 8 years! I'd be interested to see a video of lishi mistakes that can prevent you from succeeding a pick.
