I think it was group effort at different point of times. HWR saw this decide to take over all it. The function TVA is necessary.
After watching this episode, all I could think is what a gift Hiddleston is to the MCU. Glad he keeps sticking around and does such a good job in every thing he's in.

I love how OB never seemed to be surprised of anything... It's like any weird informations that he got made him happy...
Loki just wanting his friends back made me really sad. He finally found his people, his glorious purpose.
I think his glorious purpose is much bigger than that!They are just perks along the way. He can literally save time from time itself
That scene made me break down and I don't know why. Something about him saying without his friends he doesn't know where he belongs made me so sad
Loki arguably has the most developed and complex character arc in the whole franchise. His growth and maturation, change in priorities, motivations... he's grown up so much.
It's also great writing that Loki confesses his reason at a bar over a drink with Sylvie. This is what happens; being honest over a drink at the bar.

No, Loki stayed there because his aura was extracted from the timeline and his home timeline is now the TVA. With the ability to travel through time without creating branched timelines and without technical aids, he has become the god of time. That's also the reason why he can walk the bridge in the finale without a protective suit.

Definitely I thought this ,when he got pulled from the stream by mobius he was fine after that ,so when the loom exploded he was back to glitching but the loom looked safe , his aura would technically still be in the loom if he’s glitching again,therefore he has no need to pull himself out hence the god of time

This is one of the saddest moments in the show. From Loki formerly being a cold backstabber, to now being able to love & trust people who give him purpose & comfort is so beautiful
It’s kinda great in that this Loki is getting his redemption arc like main time line Loki.

Technically, he just became omnipotent - unless we learn that there are some limits to his time travel, he can go *anywhere, anytime* and change *anything*. He can literally write what happens the same way He Who Remains did.
The most mind-blowing part is that he's even able to control time in places that are explicitly outside of time, like the TVA and the Void planet, I suspect.
He can do what Spot from Across the spider verse can
At this point, from what we know, not quite as omnipotent yet. He seems to be limited based on the 'who' he wants to meet. So I assume the end part is because he wants to meet Victor Timely. Will be more powerful if he could actually opt to meet someone not in that TVA room like Frigga across the timeline.
It was so sad to see O.B reduced to being an unsuccessful author because he was still so happy despite not selling anything and getting kicked out of the library.
Marvel can MEAN SOMETHING again after this episode. The record store scene? The writing in general? Incredible. Everything we fell in love with Marvel for.
Loki’s character development is one of the greatest things in the MCU. Seeing his transformation is so good!
He and Nebula have the 2 best redemption arcs, yet they have never met. Would love to see them talk about all the shit they have done.
I love how they made this threat to be completely way more scarier than thanos. It’s a threat to EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE

I didn’t know he became known as the god of stories. I love that and I’m excited for the direction of Loki’s character.
One more thing to notice.. Earlier every time loki timeslips into past, he found an another past version of himself but at the end of 5th episode and probably 6th episode. He slips back but in the same body like the time stone time reversing like logic... It would be great if you point it out next time... :)
He only saw another him when he went to the future tho. In ep 1 he was there twice cuz he was in the future and the same goes for the small moment in this episode.
Im surprised no one caught the speech loki gave to mobius saying" you can go home and it will be as though you never left" is almost verbatum of kangs speech to jane in quamtummania

It's interesting how Loki's time slipping has changed, since before it was violent, and his entire body moved forward and backward in time, meaning there could be two of him in the same place.
But now, when he controlled it, the time slipping wasn't violent or glitchy. Instead of a future version of himself appearing at the exact same moment, it's more like he's mind is time slipping into a past version of himself. Which is really cool.
That's not how it works
That's exactly what is happening though, his future self is slipping into his past self; but now it's more like he's sliding instead of slipping. It's a controlled slide, rather than an accidental slip; it makes so much sense that his mind is slipping into his alternate bodies. Hasn't anyone ever played Soma. The ending to that game is a great example.

nah. This is great but there's PLENTY of goodness for me in the MCU still. Recently, Spiderman, GOTG, all shows except Secret Invasion and Shang Chi, plus the future that includes FF and The Xmen keep me excited.

Loki has this power in the comics why he is extremely powerful. He can go anywhere he chooses. He can change reality, he can conjure, he can have his head cut off and he put it right back on
All the actors on this show are good, but Hiddleston is next level. So much happens on his face and in his eyes ... I hope Marvel has the good sense to keep him around for a long, long time!
I loved seeing OB play around with the tempad while Loki was talking to mobius, gave me such a good chuckle lol
The TVA automation announcement (detail #2) reminds me of the story of "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Ray Bradbury, where the house is automated to do the same tasks every day, even after the family is all dead after a nuclear explosion/catastrophe of sorts. Great story (my personal favorite) out of the Martian Chronicles. EC Comics did an issue of this story! (WEIRD FANTASY no. 17)

This was the episode we needed to really provide stakes for the characters and the various timelines that are dying. I wasn’t feeling it after the timeline bombing of episode 2, but I for sure felt it in this episode.

I’m still suspicious that they won’t stick this ending. I think this season has been a breath of life for the MCU (which was seemingly on its last legs) but I get an ominous feeling as the final episode approaches. I really hope they don’t fumble the end, because this has been so enjoyable so far. It’s obvious the writers have put thought and care into this story, which is so much more than what Marvel has been giving as of late. Crossing my fingers!!
Why would the just tank the finale after all this buildup? I understand how the recent MCU has fared but have some faith in Loki! Be optimistic!

You guys do a great job at breaking down these shows. The effort is definitely evident.
The Shopkeep has an exchange with Sylvia about how he prefers being at work as it feels more like a home than his actual home does which counteracts what Sylvia had been arguing about when she dehumanizes adjusting people from their timeline to work at the TVA. This could be a metaphor for why people like Mobius have preferred their TVA lives instead of their timeline ones, they feel more at home at the the TVA.

It feels like Loki truly is "He Who Remains". And Loki might also semi immune to the temporal radiation since he was pulled out of the time stream earlier.

The BMX movie RAD ingrained this song into my memory forever!
The fact that the Zartan book had OB's real name this whole time without us realizing is great.
This episode was groundbreaking. Showing what all the characters, that we love, looked like on their timelines. It was especially awesome to see everyone spaghetti-fy and then Loki finally control his time slipping.
the pacing for this season has been great. Not one episode felt dull or filler. Hopefully, Marvel finds a way to let the team behind Loki control the bigger story. Multiverse could end up being a mess, if the right people are not writing the story.

As soon as I saw Mobius on his Jet ski, I burst out laughing. 😂 I have never felt so prouder and so satisfied. Whatever happens in the future for Marvel, Loki will forever be amazing. Also, it was so wholesome seeing how far Loki’s grown to the fact that he has friends that he’s willing to fight for.
There are also nods to earlier Hiddleston projects. He played Jonathan Pine in The Night manager written by John le Carré. Sylvie is also looking a lot like Adam from Only lovers left alive. Mimicking his wardrobe and how he's lying back on the sofa, almost as if she's a variant of him as well.
We still haven’t found out what was Sylvie’s nexus event. I hope we get find out in the finale.
My wife, English teacher, pointed out that a lot of the sticky notes are the phases of the hero’s journey (a popular type of template for stories) and that got us thinking how this season really is like that!

From this point forward anyone who cosplays as Loki needs to do the head flip ALL the time wherever they are at conventions. I mean are you even a Loki if you don’t look like you have been falling for 30 minutes?

Notice how the KIND of time slipping also changes as Loki starts to control it. Earlier it was the kind of slipping where his time travelling self and the self of the time where he goes where in different bodies(Like Back to the Future) BUT after he learns how to control it, he's now time slipping in his past self's body(Like Logan in Days of future past).
I think that may be significant in the next episode where loki tries to do the temporal loom thing again and agian
This ep made me tear up, laugh, scream in frustration and honestly I was just left in shock. I would argue this is the best ep of the series so far! The visuals and the acting were phenomenal, I can't wait for next week!!!
I liked how Mobius’ sons had two different coloured shirts. Kevin had the orange, similar to the TVA jumpsuit font colour and Shawn had the dark aqua colour, similar to “Don”’s job uniform. Also the jet skis were both in these colours

Notice that when Loki learns to control his time-slipping, he no longer runs into his past or future self, he transports into his own body and mind.

And he no longer whips his head back, possibly in recoil, possibly to ensure his vision isn't obstructed, possibly both.
In regards to OB’s creation of the TVA, he said that he learned everything from Kang. But in these current set of events, he learned everything from his own book that he himself wrote, which means this OB learned everything from himself instead of Kang. Aaaand that means that we are not looking at the same set events that led to the TVA we saw in season 1. That is, unless, Kang did actually wipe OB’s mind along with everyone else’s, and then retaught OB himself, which would allow for the current set events to be the original set of events all along. Some trippy stuff

Another thing someone pointed out in regards to Don's sons: He offered the son who likes snakes a dog. Loki's children with Fenrir and Jörmungandr.
Has the idea of OB being a Kang Variant been thought about?
He knows all there is to know about the TVA, Temporal Loom and well everything. He could be a variant that was over powered by He Who Remains and had his memory wiped and left in the TVA with his knowledge to make sure everything is kept in check, if something ever did happen to the timelines.
Just a thought.
What's interesting is He Who Remains can only read time up to a certain point, his variants can interact with this said written time, and if this variant of Loki can write time through Time slipping that means this Loki is the most powerful entity in the whole MCU as of the moment.
you do also realize its after he who remains was killed and everyone has free will and isn't bound by his script.

This episode was absolutely phenomenal, so it completely baffles me that critics are hating this episode on Rotten Tomatoes, and people are still review bombing the audience score for RT as well. Absolutely perfect episodes in my opinion!
I couldn't agree with you more. I thought this episode was brilliant! Everything that took place in the record store with Sylvie was, in my opinion, the best Marvel content I've seen since Endgame.

He was a cold backstaber BECAUSE he never felt loved or like he belonged in Asgard.
While S1 was heavily focused on Sylvie's character development and story; This season is remarkable in character developments. Be it OB, X5, Dox, Casey, Mobius, Victor, Miss Minutes they are all done amazingly this season. ✌

Its also worth noting that when Loki time slipped into time theatre 25, the chairs were empty, but also the soundtrack that played when he time slipped into that room was the same soundtrack that played when season 1 Loki saw himself being killed by Thanos, which could be why present Loki gives a strange look in the direction of the screen.
Möbius didn’t remember what a Jet-Ski was, but rather, he said he read about them in a magazine. He had an affinity for them due to loving them so much when on the timeline.
Casey must not have loved fish because he didn’t remember what they were.

I think the right side of the Loom was weaving again rather than unraveling (you can see it getting tighter) - likely because so many timelines are spaghettifying so the Loom can handle the few timelines that are left
yeah i thought the loom was gonna break and the multiverse was actually gonna happen healthily, but then everything turned into spaghetti so i guess not.

People keep forgetting that this Loki got pulled right out of avengers after he got defeated and everyone hates him. The only people who actually like his presence are the friends he made at the TVA. That’s why that bar scene hits so hard.🥺

Great analysis!! This was my favorite episode. It was very weird, but I love the ending and the implications. I think Loki is tapping into god powers even he didn't realize he possessed. He is slowly becoming my favorite MCU character. I really hope they are able to bring the whole Kang storyline to fruition.

If Loki can control time slipping (a better version of tempad) and Sylvie having HWR’s temped, does it mean it is a destiny for them to rule timeline, just like HWR said ?
Or, unfortunately... since Sylvie still needs the "Master" Tempad... and Loki just plain *became* one... they might have to face off, again. This time, one might have to end the other, to keep this from all happening again... and again...
Loki is definitely inspired by Agent of Asgard series. Loki is the superior one out of all his variants. Since he can control the time slipping now, he can actually travel the multiverse by will. I think Loki is gonna play a big role in Kang dynasty, Secret Wars and Avengers because he did recruit the avengers in the comic and it will be a multiverse war with all the variants of heroes and Kang variants. Loki is a God and may be the only one that can go up against Kang. Also, maybe he might takeover the TVA. Lastly, I wouldn't be surprised if Renslayer is a variant to Kang

I think a good reason to explain lokis time travel changing the timeline can go like this: even tho banner said u can’t change the future from a future that already exists, lokis timelines future DOESN’T. Because his branched timeline was pruned. Therefore he is able to change the future because he doesn’t come from the future..

this season has been excellent. the visuals of timelines shedding are marvellous. it's been so intriguing. I hope Marvel realizes that if they're fixing a problem is not Jonathan Majors!
Ehh it been great not excellent some stuff/ scene just take to long or some side plot is just pointless or half the episode is really just a waste like filler they needed something to take up 15min Bec they could only have 20 minutes of actual progressive story telling

That’s exactly what I thought as well. Now that he’s able to use his god powers and the unstable time, I reasoned that Loki’s body was trying to balance everything.
The issue with this is that Sylvie is ALSO a loki, yet doesn't timeslip (as far as we know), and is likewise not immune to being sphagettified.

The bedsheets out the window of the boys room is a nod to Bottle Rocket. Owen Wilson's character Dignan "breaks out" his friend Anthony (Luke Wilson) from a voluntary psych hospital, with Anthony climbing out the window (with his doctor's permission) with bed sheets tied exactly as seen in this episode of Loki
I think all of the Key Lime pie is a clue to Loki running the TVA since his colors are always green.
So when Sylvie said "there's nowhere else to go ?" does that mean before coming to them she tried to go to every branches but they all got spaghettied out ? So that very moment when they all get spaghettied was the last moment of time and everything ?

Loki is like what Tony Stark is in the Infinity Saga. Loki is the one terrified of what's coming. Similar to Tony. This makes me want this Loki to be the leader of the Avengers in Kang Dynasty.
