The balance on the 19x & G 45 is outstanding.
I own both I was never a Glock person the agency I work for we carry the Glock 22 as our duty issue now I will not carry anything else
I’ve spent around 100hrs researching beretta, sig and H&K, however despite all the research for some reason I simply just keep coming back to G simply because of its simplicity..
Same here. Glock and Springfield are the only pistols I roster. I hate Sig. hate Beretta. Not a HK fan.
@@MrHunt916 Wow, I love HK and vintage SIGs. What do you have against them?
@@StGCfiLife
I actually do like the HK VP9
Nothing wrong with SIG, just not my preference
@@MrHunt916 he doesn’t just own the pistols….he rosters them. Don’t forget that.

Glock 40 oh you got a Glock in 40 caliber? No it’s in 10mm
Glock 45 oh you got a Glock in 45 ACP? No it’s in 9mm
Confused yet ? :D
sootch, explained this in the Video for all of you, that don't know.
it's Numbered as they're Order of Patent. This is their 45th Patent is why. They have done this from their start. Hope this Helps Out.😉
not confusing at all. it's easy...
Only confusing to those unworthy! Repent!
BahHaHaha!! Yep!
Who’s got a Glock 25?
The ejection pattern is superb too. Best I’ve seen on any other Glock.
Best ejection pattern I’ve ever seen on a glock. They finally figured it out
PROTECTIVE RAILROAD DAD Haha!! Finally!! One of the reasons I quit buying Glock in 9mm is cause I was tired of empty cases hitting me in the face
I’ve owned, carried and enjoyed shooting Glocks for 22yrs. I really want to try the 19x/45. Thanks for taking the time, brother.
Did you ever get a 19x or G45?
I left Glocks some time ago. When the G19x came out, I shot it and really liked it. Then, the G45 came out and, for me, it is the best shooting Glock. I liked the G45 so much that I went on to purchase a G26 gen 5 and a G43. Excellent info as always and thanks for the video!
I tried the G45 pretty early in production, and had incredibly had luck with their new breach face geometry, along with problems specific to my example. I've had much better results modifying the G19X.
Great review as always. Just ordered mine today since I'm not on the "approved" Glock list :D
Oh man! You have a good channel too! Will wait for your review as well!
What are they going for $$$$$$.?
One day you’ll get on there, one day.....
Better get on it son😳
Does it have about the same recoil as a 19 or is it easier to manage when shooting one hand ? Got a bad arm
Love Glock. G19X is my favorite, and looks like I have another Glock to get. Awesome video thanks
Thanks for the review Sootch. Now I have to add another to my collection. My favorite glock is the 19x. The balance is unbelievable and its an awesome shooter. The g45 and 19x will make a great pairing. This design balances better than my 17, therefore I shoot it a lot better!
It moves, tracks and shoot well just like a Colt Commander size 1911 does. Shorter slide fuller frame size for control.
Just picked mine up today. Was on the fence with the glock 19x. Didn't care for the front cutout on the g19 gen 5. This one has most of the features that I like, front serrations, no finger grooves, and plus my gen 4 mags will fit . Got mine for $539.00. Of course with the standard plastic glock sights, but I had a set of trijicon hd xr's to put on it. As far as concealing, the frame is about a half inch longer than my glock 19 gen 4. Very happy with my purchase. Thanks Sooch for the review!
Best looking Glock to date! I really like this new G45. I wish I enjoyed shooting the Luger grip angle. The more relaxed grip angle of the USP, 1911, (Sig, etc.) felt natural to me when I first started shooting & now it's just engrained. I can come up on target without thinking about my sights initially.
Love it ! Glad to see this handgun format gaining in popularity.
Excellent review as per usual sootch00! Love my 19X and I can't wait to purchase the NEW G45 and G19 MOS GEN5! Keep the great content coming, Thank you!
To me, the most functional aspect of forward cocking serrations is being able to reset the striker while dry firing. Press checks can be done from the rear just fine but it is much quicker to hook the front of the slide with my thumb to re-cock the pistol. If you do a lot of dry fire, this can be a big help. Thanks scootch! 👍🏼🇺🇸
Glock 45 and G-19X are extremely well balanced. I really hope they make a .357 Sig in this configuration, that would be awesome 😎

I walked into the gunstore today and before they had even put it in the system I said I'll take it. I always wanted a 19x but wasn't crazy about the color. Finding out that it's more than just a black 19x, which is what the guy told me along with the front serrations on the slide, is wonderful. I know I can conceal both the 19 and the 17 on me personally. I told him I'd be back Monday to pick it up. Thanks for the info Sootch!
Can't conceal g45?
@@mikeprice8307 where I live now I don't have to conceal, but I was able to before when I had to
Whenever I see a Glock video I always look at it’s ejection pattern. This one looks fantastic. Can’t wait to pick one up!
Just bought one yesterday sootch and it's the best glock yet in my opinion. My favorite gun I have to shoot for sure and no matter what brands of guns I buy I always seem to come back to glock. I just shoot them well and know I can rely on them.
Great review! I agree with you, I love how the G19x shoots. It is now my favorite Glock. May have to pick up the G45 as well.
I purchased my Glock 45 Generation 5 9mm in June 2021 for $620.00
It shoots straight, feels good in my hands and recoil is not too bad.
I love that loud and crisp sounding trigger reset.
I love the way this Glock looks, and adore all my Glocks. I've been carrying my Gen 3 Glock 19 with a 17-round magazine for the last couple of years. It conceals very easily, and I'm a small person. I love this size and will definitely get one!
I love my 19x, but.... i need one of these too.
Man I watch all your videos, if I ever need information and research or break downs on firearms this is the channel I always go too !!!
Me too now!?
I know this video is old but just thought I'd say your video helped me understand this fire arm. I have always been mostly a sig guy (226) (229).. this glock was the one that finally made me buy one. It's the right size, feels great and points fast. Thank you for all you do.
I carried a p320 for a couple years and just got one of these in a trade. The sig is quickly gathering dust. G45 is the best hand feel I've encountered.
Great review, Sootch, thanks! I don't understand why people think that the forward slide serrations are for press checks...I press check by manipulating the slide as I would for a reload or any other slide cycle...
Always enjoyed the G45 and it was my first carry pistol since getting my permit in 2019 👍
Dam i was waiting for this review.. Thanks alot sootch im on my to my ffl right now hopefully i can find me a pair!! LONG LIVE SOOTCH GODBLESS!
Long time firearm enthusiast, but I just never saw the Glock fascination. Well I decided to see for myself what Glocks are all about. After reading and looking, the model 45 is my first Glock. We'll see what all the hub bub is about now! Thanks for the review.
I was looking fwd to stop driving all day to watch your vid. Good way to finish the day. Thank you
I didn't know it existed until now!!
Edit: just returned from my local firearm shop, they'll be in stock tomorrow. Not a bad price either!
I also googled this firearm and having trouble finding it. Is it even for sale yet?
Glock just announced this one today
Caught rumors of the impending release on Glocktalk a full 24 hours ago! :)
That is the best ejection pattern I have seen! FINALLY!!!!
I too wanted a 19X in black. Excellent review. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the review. That's what been looking for No cut out!
Look 👀 at that ejection pattern on the 19x and the G45! That’s what I’m talking about Glock! I love my 19x, time to invest in the G45! Great video Don, as always!🇺🇸🗽🦅🇦🇹
Interesting thing, they added a new breach face geometry with the G45, which has caused the gun to run rough, chew up brass, and sometimes make unloading really difficult. The G19X had solid ejection without the new geometry. It was bad enough to make me trade my G45 for a G19X on my Roland Special project, while I would have much preferred the former.
@@southtexasmayhem5412 so which one do you prefer the 19x or 45?
As a Glock collector, the 19x & 45 are the best 9mm Glocks made. I bought a 19x strictly as a collection piece to never be fired and the G45 which is basically the same pistol as the 19X as a home defense pistol. Very accurate weapon.
Agreed, until the 47
They had front cocking serrations on the glock 17 and 19 gen 4. They also came with metal sights. I have the 17 on my channel if you want to check it out.
I have found that the grip angle is designed to raise the top of the wrest aligning to the bore helping to mitigate recoil, the sig p 320 with the lesser grip angle rotates the wrist downward away from the bore, this is what makes the Glock handle better.
The ejection on that thing looks outstanding
@PogChampIt's partly about how the gun is designed. My PTR-91 launches brass into low-earth orbit.
Well im middle aged now,my ejection is pretty eratic also!
fisher1972 😂
Mel Laknanurak That's what you get for using a roller (slightly) delay mechanism.
PogChamp Extractor claw angle and angle on the ejector, maybe even extractor spring tension
I've been a 1911 man for decades. I recently bought a G45 MOS and since then it has been my EDC,
i dont have a glock yet, i have smith 2.0, but that 19x when i shot s mag, rocked and rolled in my hand. all i can think of, felt good, balanced. got back on target easier than my smith, shot better than it, but i have since got a 17rd mag with the filler pad, we'll see how it shoots.
I didn't know this gun even existed 2 days ago, although as soon as I did I knew this channel would have it up, and so he did never fails great vid sootch👍👍
Chomping at the bit to get both of these guns especially the Glock 19X, such a beautiful gun
Wow. That G45 may just become my first Glock. My XD.40sc needs a friend ;)
Something I think that most people who look at both the Glock 45 and 19X forget is that these guns are not necessarily made for concealed carry. These are duty guns and not made for everyday carry by civilians.
William Moon you’re right. There seem to be people out there that would complain about anything.
Thystaff Thywill I get what your saying. I didn't say that they couldn't be used for concealed carry its just that the G19x wasn't specifically designed with concealed carry in mind. It was specifically design for military trials and Glock later made a few small changes and released it to the civilian market.. That's why i said it was more of a duty gun design than a conceal carry gun. Also I think Sootch mentioned in the video that there were some police departments that wanted a gun like the 19x just with some changes which is basically what the G45 is. Hope this clears up what I meant.
Thystaff Thywill Nothing's wrong with it. I just think that now a days more people are conceal carrying than open carrying.
JusticeAA If you can carry it fairly easily, then by all means carry it. I'm sure that it is just the right size gun for loads of people. I'm fairly average in terms of height and width(probably on the larger end of width) so when I think of concealed carry, I normally think of guns the size at most of a glock 19 (which at least for me is pushing the size a little bit) down to pocket pistols. Hope it's everything you want and need in a carry gun.
"Thystaff Thywill" Open Carry....Why be a bullet magnet?????
I worked in Law Enforcement about 3 years back in the 90's and my buddies had the G17 and now I have the G45 and love it to death !
I first started retailing Glock in 1985. I was impressed with it's simplicity, reliability, and overall function. As Glock prospered I eagerly awaited what model would come next from this innovative company. I'm still waiting.
Wow! I wish my G19 would eject the empty brass like that.
The front serrations were on the gen 4 "FS" models
nah FS is what they called on Gen 4 glocks in summer promotion with front serrrations
Super informative as always. Thanks, Sootch
Fantastic review....as usual, man. Love the outtakes at the end! lol Good, good stuff!
Great job, Sootch! Is it me or does the ejection of spent casings seem to be much better?
looking to get my first Glock..... this looks like a strong contender
I love my 19x. I’m def looking to get the 45 too. I’m turning that into a Roland special.
AWESOME!!! I want one. "Perfection". Got to start up a savings for this. Thanks for the video review.
Wow, I'm actually impressed. That slide looks great.
Don, Glock had the G17/9 Gen 4 FS, front serrations
Thank you Don! Looking forward to it being available.
The Springfield XDm 4.0 & 3.8 are very similar but they have 19 round flush fitting mags and has been out for a few years now.
Sweet! Looks like I’m getting another GLOCK!
"I wish Glock's had front serrations"
G45 - "Man that Glock looks hideous with front serrations"
Exactly dude. I'm retiring from reading comment sections.
ichor20 exactly! People bitch about glock needs to add front serrations, remove the finger grooves, make the 19x in black, not in baby poop brown (FN 509 tactical is the same color,no one bitching about that) fill the front cutout etc....... glock does all those things, and its stil not good enough. People still whining!!!
they cant use the same cheap ass ugly straight serrations.
They had front serrations on some of the Gen 4 g19's already .
A lot of big cry babies complaining about what there and what's not
Great breakdown of the comparison - thank you!
Love my Glocks but at the end of the day I haven't shot them much since having an ed brown custom 1911 built. The glocks are my go to for carry they always go boom like they should.
Just switch and swap grips, slides, mags, barrels. Glock is the Mr. Potato Head of handguns.
Great review as always. Looks like I'm adding another Glock to my collection.
My local sheriffs office, state and other local law enforcement agencies went (Knox county sheriff, Tennessee highway patrol, etc) traded in the G22 for the G45 MOS. I personally went out and bought a G45 for home defense. I put a streamlight TLR1-HL and truglo night sights on mine. Loaded them up with some federal hst 124+p.
Thanks for explaining how the glocks are named! It has always troubled me
I would love to try out the reported “less recoil” due to lighter slide. Can I ran a Gen4 G19 Slide on a Gen5 G17 frame (almost a G19 or G45)?
I've been contemplating the 19 or 17 for 3 weeks, and after this review I think the G45 is a perfect compromise. Great review, thank you!
I was on same situation, finally I buy G45
Same issue, guess it’s a G45
I bought the G45 based on this video. I found it to be exactly as you presented it. Great job Sootch. It has become my favorite even over old faithful, my Gen 3 19 . Thanks again for some great information.
I love your infomrcials!! They are the best among the sea of other infomercials. Good job!!
Great, now i have to buy one lol
the fns,px4,sig p320 all have been making 4 inch barrel,17 round guns for years and now this is considered revolutionary. great review but I just don't know. I have a 19x for the collectability but this gun is just a copy of what others have been doing for years.
No one is calling it revolutionary except MAYBE the Glock marketing team. Others have likewise copied Glock. Who cares.
@@dodgeyrammer2421 you must,I guess something in my comment bothered you. So I will apologize for upsetting you.
Awesome review Sootch! I've had the same G17 Gen 2 since I purchased in 1993. I have been conceal carrying it for the last 20 years. I have tried just about every other Glock model over the years and the only other one I'd consider adding to my arsenal is the G43, as a backup. I have had a Hogue finger notch grip on my G17 since day one and after 15,000 rounds that grip is still as soft and forgiving as ever. I'll be heading down to the gun club soon to rent a G45... Thanks to you. I am concerned that I might like it more than my beloved G17 Gen 2... LOL Honestly, I can't wait to try it out side by side next to my old friend.
Would be good to have a G45 since it can share mags with ur G17 if it ever gives out
I could hear the crisp break and reset looked good 👍
Great review, basically a black 19x for leo , if they would offer that same setup chambered in 45acp the civilian market would storm it.
I would love something like this with a threaded barrel and supressor-height sights in .45 to rival the FNX.
I had the same thought...
@@bestmillimeter1858knowing glock they're not going to , i think they're running out of ideas.
WOODS no they wouldn’t, the same way the “market” didn’t storm the G21/41. The 9mm DOES make the most sense as it outsells EVERY other caliber of gun in the US and world.
jimhans1 exactly!! People will bitch no matter what glock does!
*I'm in for one, and if they expand this platform to other calibers I'll be in for a few more.;)*
T Web LOL!!!, off the mark by light years. I won't trade education and experience based insults with you. It'd be like dueling with an unarmed man.
your review really good with alot of detail about the gun, also the comparing with other model of glock is the thing i want to know. I have subscribed your channel .Thank you !
Not everyone will but I like a slide with front serrations. They give you a second firm grip area to check for loaded chamber or if the slide is closed and you want to lock it open, it's easier to push the slide with your off hand while operating the slide lock lever with your strong hand. And, your less likely to get bit by the rear sight if you lose your grip on the rear serrations.
can we admire sootch's one handed skill
Yes
glock offerd the 4th generation G17FS and G19FS pistols with front serration, so front serrations arent new sootch00

@@2much4you31 he didn't acknowledge that

I think he meant their new as in their new to a standard model that isn't a limited addition
Glock 19mos is better
Great review, I know I'm a bit late to the party. I have the 19x and love it! I bought a second glock and still shoot the 19x better than most any other pistol. No complaints at all with the g19x!
Wow I was totally unaware of this model until now! Great Video Sir!
Can you switch the slides from g19x to g45 for a two tone ?
Thanks for the info..didn’t know that the G45 even existed. I luv my 19x...by far my favorite Glock to shoot!

I only have the two aft beaver parts. I do have large hands, no worries though. I'm looking forward to learning how to clean and fire it. Thank you again.
Thought the same as you when I saw the title to your video, sootch.Figured it was a new .45 caliber.Would like a choice of FDE color to go with the G45 with those front serrations.

The Gen 5 19 and 19X came out in quick succession. The Gen 5 was not bad, but the 19X was so much nicer. I like the trigger as well as the the full grip. I like it, but in did not replace my old Gen 2 19. When the 45 was introduced there was a lot of hype that it was a black 19x. I do not fully agree with this as it stands on its own. I recently spent the time with the 19, 19X, 17, and 45 trying to decide which one I would be carrying. The 45 won out over the rest. it was a tough choice between it and the 19X.
great review! I did not purchase a 19x solely for the hole cutout in front of the mag. I really like the design for this G45. I believe this will be my next purchase after I pick up my type B from Arkon.

Great video as always, Sootch! IMHO, a good Glock reaction to both the LEO market -and- the rest of the civilian Glock shooting crowd that wasn't totally happy with the G19X in regard to color and wanting forward serrations. I get that. It'll sell just fine. But I'm with you, Bro; for my money, the G19X is now my favorite-shooting Glock and will likely remain as such with me.
Excellent comparison video. I enjoyed and learned a bunch about the difference.
