I'm a fan of the g45. Made some small changes from previous gens that have big quality of life improvements and fixed the initial issues I had with the gen5 release models. Still very safe and reliable.
I'd like to see a 17 (or 34) slide with a 19 frame. Maybe bring back the one top finger hump closest to the trigger guard, a slight angle (from the sides toward the center) undercut to help with glock knuckle and a bit of a secondary dimple on the bottom of the trigger guard for support hand index finger. I did the latter two on my 45 and it feels so nice to hold and shoot now.

I always loved G19’s for their concealability but the hump on the back strap made them point low for me. I always said that a 19 slide on a 17 frame would be my idea of perfection and when the first G45’s arrived in my buddy’s gun shop, he said you gotta get down here! I played with it for about 45 seconds and it was exactly as I anticipated. A few years and thousands of rounds later, still love it.

Olight Baldr S green ($95) and a “guns and flowers” kydex iwb ($29!!!) all in all a great set up. Got about a thousand rounds through her so far. All on paper or made a “ding”. I've been digging my G45 lately for winter EDC. I normally carry a P10C IWB, but have found that the deep beaver tail in the P10C can be tough to consistently grip since I have to work around the sweat guard. I recently tried my G45 in the exact same holster (thanks CZ for making them so similar that they often fit the same holster!) and it's far easier to get an acceptable purchase on. Couple that with the fact that my shot timer says I run a Glock a bit better than a P10 even if it feels less comfortable, and I'm slowly turning into a Glock fanboy.

I started my EDC with 1911s because I hated the look/feel of glocks. Then I went to (an inherited) Kimber polymer compact and learned to trust polymer framed pistols. While I change my EDC habits from time to time, I always seem to go back to full-sized 9mm and specifically the Austrian variety, especially after learning significant skills in tweaking striker-fired guns and smithing education. The 19X was a novelty interest until I got hands on it and fell in love. I elected to pick up a 45 MOS, Nightstick 850XLS, and a dual illuminated RMR as my sole carry gun and have not been disappointed once. Once I finished the work on my frame and tuned all the movey bits, I've have several people comment on how awesome it is "for a Glock."

I love it, I just switched from the Gen5 G19 to the G45 (non MOS) as my duty weapon and love it. I wanted a handgun that fit in my large hands better but something I didn't have to switch out my duty holster for as they are expensive as well. The G45 answered that for me spectacularly! Granted I could shoot my G19 well I just wanted something that is a bit easier to hang on to. Plus having a couple extra rounds isn't that bad either.
My G19 is also one of the early Gen5 models so it has that annoying half moon cut out which factored into my making the switch. The magazine cut out there always pinched my hands when shooting even with a Pearce grip extension with the half moon filler plug. I also haven't seen any magazine extensions that feature that half moon cut filler so I couldn't add on any mag extensions (I could but again I want that there to reduce the pinching I get) to the gun.
So the G45 again was the perfect answer to my problem and couldn't be happier because it gives me the longer grip with no half moon cut out, and I can add mag extensions to my mags for additional rounds in the gun.

Then again, tiny subtle changes might be a conservative corporate philosophy. Like you said about the ease of optaining parts, simple disassembly. It's the ol reliable VW beetle product. Glock banks on tradition, stuck in 1982. The 19X and 45 are fresh. Glock should steal Walther's ergonomics engineer away. Can you imagine a Glock in PDP clothing ?

My daily conceal and carry is a Glock 45 MOS. I have a similar set up but with some slight changes. I use Trijicon suppressor height night sights, a Trijicon RMR Type 2 adjustable LED MOS red dot mounted on a C&H Precision Weapons System V4 Defender plate, and a Surefire X400 Ultra laser/light mounted under the barrel. I use the green laser and the 1,000 lumen light. The ammo that I carry is the Underwood Xtreme Defender 90 grain +P ammo and use a High Threat Concealment IWB Spektre kydex holster and Pitbull Tactical IWB/OWB universal magazine carriers.
The department that I work for uses Glock 22 handguns. I’ve been with them for 13 1/2 years and from training with Glocks both off and on duty, I shoot them much better than any other gun. I also have the most muscle memory with sight and target/threat acquisition and have come to really trust those guns far more than any other gun that I own.
There are other guns that I like and own and some do have certain features that are better than some of the features on Glocks but in my opinion and from my observations and personal experiences, Glocks have the best consistency with making guns that have the most reliability, longevity and durability. And to me, those are the most important things to have in a gun. Especially your every day conceal and carry gun.

Good video. But I like the G17’s length better for an on-duty gun. But that’s just me. Everybody has to get what they like, not what someone else likes. With the 17, I love it’s Longer sight radius and the fact that it shoots a little softer with better felt recoil than a G45.

Until you mentioned it I never paid attention to the grip angle. The grip angle in my opinion is like revolvers that don't have actual sights. I love the G45 mos. Best Glock ever in my opinion. By the way I use the medium curved backstrap. Helps with maintaining my grip with mag changes. I took a pair of scissors and cut it in half. Do the same and you can use your flared magwell.

Awesome man . I haven't tried to dremel my back straps yet. the gen 5 stuff is based on the gen 4 19 locking block so a gen 5 slide will go on a gen 4 frame, but not not the inverse without changing some parts. I am doing a video and testing the G45 and other frames and slides with different stuff in a few weeks. Someone got hold of me and said they did the gen5 slide on a 4 frame and were having feeding issues I have done it but only ran a mag through it to see if it ran. I am going to test more combos 17,19 factory and after market frames pretty soon.

I recently picked up a G45, non-MOS (because I don’t like optics on my guns, I prefer basic iron sights) and shot it for the first time yesterday. Very soft shooting with HST 124-gr +P HP. I’m not as accurate as I am with my Sig P365 X-Macro TacOps, which I attribute to the difference in thickness. I do better with the narrower pistol. But I wanted a Glock, and the 45 is almost perfect. (To make it perfect for me, remove the front slide serrations; I don’t need them, don’t use them, and they make the gun look clunky.)

Or is the hole shallow enough that it doesn't expose those internal parts? I'm curious to know because this is the case for the Glock 43x MOS wherein the screw holes penetrate all the way to the extractor spring and people have problems with the screw pinching down on it causing extraction issues. Cheers!
