My favorite thing about AJ is he’s the 200 million dollar man and lives like a hungry Olympic or college athlete that hasn’t even gone pro yet and that he helps the youth from his neighborhood who want to box but don't have the resources. AJ is very cool.

It was moving on fine when he was considered out, not saying he isn't valued but Parker has been putting in as much if not more work and really getting things moving. AJ is just in the spotlight.

@@hodgie9881big fan of Ben and the way he dissects fighters and comes up with strategies. Didn’t see AJ parry Ngannou’s left down before sticking the straight right on him though. Maybe Ben said that (as you stated) but I didn’t hear that. AJ certainly didn’t parry the left down first regardless. Didn’t need to! Kinda threw a nothing jab to the body first which had the desired effect.

He didn’t think he was anyone else other than himself who has turned southpaw continuously in his fighting career.
turning southpaw is the easiest way to beat aj but you need to keep cyrciling to the right

@KeepBritainClean True. His coach was super cocky. And some of that rubbed off on Ngannou. Interestingly Ngannou says despite training well, Ngannou said that when he woke up on fight day he felt, today wasn't going to be his day. Perhaps his inner consciousness couldn't be fooled by overconfidence. Ngannou is still a hero and a legend in my eyes, regardless of the devastating loss.
Ben Davison, is a perfect role model for any coach! He’s humble, respectful and so professional. However, Ngannous coach was the total opposite. Ben Davison is a great coach but more importantly a great person 👏🏻

I’ve never been one for all the smack talking in combat sports and the build up to this fight was refreshingly respectful from everyone involved.

AJ has said this so many times.... he does what his trainers tell him. His entire career if you look back has been this.
He's got all the attributes to dominate. But at points behind the scenes things haven't worked and it's gone wrong.
If behind the scenes is right... we're seeing the results. But we've seen this with several boxers throughout the years..... In the HW.... Lewis and Klitschko recently.
Fury used to joke he's a robot....... well a robot with the right programming his attributes are lethal. He's looking lethal.

There's a reasons stance switching isn't common at all in Boxing. In MMA it makes sense to switch stances to deal with the take down threat and occasionally as a way to deal with kicks.
I wouldn’t say it’s uncommon (look at Terence Crawford). But I’ll admit it’s more common in MMA.

@@etegganyi7576 sorry but that‘s the guy who first came to my mind. I can also remember Dillian Whyte doing that and getting knocked out by Fury. Like I said, it’s NOT as common as in MMA but you’d definitely see that in Boxing too.
@denniswild7318 I think we are saying the same thing, They are very few notable/good switch hitters, Boots Ennis, Crawford, Sunny Edwards, some fighters can change their stance momentarily but ain't necessarily switch hitters, hence why it's uncommon or rare in boxing, doesn't mean it doesn't happen at all, its just extremely rare

I've followed Ben's career ever since he was working with Tyson, i've seen him break down multiple fights in detail and his boxing brain is incredible, so analytical and i've never seen him say anything that wasn't proved correct. I think he's a perfect for for AJ since AJ himself boxes like it's a chess match and if anything AJ's only real weakness is him overthinking things so having Ben in his corner (and trusting him) means he can let Ben do all the overthinking and just let his hands fly which is what we're seeing lately. A great partnership i think. Great interview.

A really great interview. Mix of technicality and relationships in the boxing world. The only thing I don't understand is ,out of all the great details given by AJ Coach, why would you make the title of the video as "Francis Ngannou Stance switch a mistake" . When you see how great the coach was explaining in a very respectful and humble way, its a disrespect to AJ's coach that ,with this title, making people think in the first glance that he is talking about Francis's mistakes. I know its a CLICKBAIT! But Please do a good job in creating titles so that we think its respectful!

Been saying this since the fight. That would be fine but Francis needs. Teddy Atlas or Freddie Roach as a trainer, because his corner was horrible. Francis's corner should have drilled in him to never go southpaw against AJ, because AJ had almost a year of training camps for going against southpaws. Plus they should have had Framcis just go at AJ "NOT" try to actually box against AJ.
Soon as I seen Francis go southpaw and trying to actually box against AJ I new he would loose and that his corner was trash.
Basically he did to Joshua what Joshua tried to do with Usyk.

@@ArunaVidu What I mean is apply pressure grapple get him on the ropes and corner. AJ tied Francis up because he knew about the power, and to take away Francis possibly for an uppercut.

Best thing Ben brought to AJ was helping him mentally believe in himself. Bens amazing with psychology and AJ now has that belief in his ability back. He’s throwing with spite and venom now, he used to be so cautious and seemingly without that honest belief in his qualities since being knocked about by Ruiz. Ben has rejuvenated AJ, this is a big new chapter for them both.😊

Very MMA brained approach of just switching stance. Usually it works in MMA to confuse and take away weapons, but AJ is probably the one heavyweight you don't want to do that with. Been good at punching southpaws since the Olympics (vs Zhang) and he did spend 2 entire camps and 24 rounds with Usyk who is probably the best southpaw in the game right now.

The key to ben’s success is his lack of ego. He uses facts and footage to get through to his fighters. The minute the fighters he works with see results they believe in him. Leigh wood is the best example, AJ following suit. Some fighters can’t drop their own ego though so it won’t fit.
"Switching STANCE" is about kicking in MMA. In boxing it's bout angles.
Sounds very meticulous, analytical and methodical...must give fighters' confidence in him.

I had a chip on my shoulder about Ben, mainly because Josh Taylor seemed to slip off when he left Shane McGuigan and went to Ben, and he never technically got Fury to the title (even though Tyson should have got the nod in the 1st Wilder fight) and Fury for a while looked to have improved massively with the influence of Sugar Hill.
Having said that, when his style works for a fighter it REALLY works, we saw it with Leigh Wood, and we saw it in the Wallin fight. Ben deserves his plaudits. He clearly has a great boxing brain, and gets through to fighters when they’re a good fit. Fair play to the lad!
Ariel you don't know how to score a fight if you think Francis beat Fury. He won three rounds maximum in that fight. If one of those got him an extra point for the KD where are you getting your math? And what other rounds could he have won? You got awe struck by a knockdown.

Davison did a better job with Fury than Sugar Hill is doing and gets credit for because Fury's technical skills have declined since he fought Klitschko in 2015, and Peter Fury is still the best coach Fury has had. Hill hasn't taught Fury anything new, and Fury was never the seek and destroy boxer to begin with. Anyway, Davison seems to be doing a much better job with Joshua than both Robert Garcia and Derrick James. Just lame how little Francis' team were prepared for in this matchup...
I think that's a bit harsh on sugar hill steward. Fury did have a terrific performance against Deontay Wilder in the 2nd fight and done him, and while not perfect done OK in the 3rd. He also made Dillian look an ameture when he ko'd him and Dillian had some momentum before that fight. Recently his form has been iffy, but I'm not sure if that's down to Fury's mental state more than anything. Under Peter Fury and Ben Davison Tyson has had off nights as well like the Cunningham fight or against Wallin, opposition you'd expect him to beat comfortably. I think Tyson performs bad when he's not that invested more than it being down to a coach.
I think sugarhill was perfect for fury for Wilder 2 , fury saw what a lot of us saw against Wilder in that first fight . Wilder was there to be KO'd , and sugarhill brought that out of him. AJ has always been the KO guy , Davison knows this and is doing a fantastic job , incredible . Robert Garcia talking bad about AJ after his loss made me realize he is the worst coach you can ever have in your corner , no matter how skilled you are , you don't trash talk your fighter.
@@musayibghani3986 What has Sugar Hill even taught Fury? Fury basically did in the rematch against Wilder what he did in round 12 in their first fight. And Whyte had been knocked out cold by a 40 year old Povetkin before fighting Fury. The Chisora trilogy was just lame. And he looked sloppy and clumsy in the trilogy against Wilder, and then won a damn split decision against Francis who wrestled in his last MMA fight and actually beat Fury badly. Like I said, Davidson is a much better coach than Sugar Hill who is only there for a big paycheck and nothing else. Fury had off night with Peter as well but at least he was more technical since he never has been the seek and destroy guy Sugar Hill wants him to be.
@@johnjegs4353 I can agree about Robert Garcia being a terrible coach, but Sugar Hill is awful as well because he didn't teach Fury anything new at all. Fury already had all the skills from back in the days but the gameplan against Wilder in the rematch worked since he did it already in round 12 in their first fight and fought Otto Wallin like this as well. But Fury isn't a big puncher and an aggressive approach doesn't suit him, which Sugar Hill tries to bring forth. Fury used to be better technically before his comeback and had gotten the label of being a boring fighter, which hasn't been the case upon his comeback because he somewhat declined in my opinion even though he always has been sloppy, clumsy and awkward at times. I think Fury would have performed better against Francis with Davidson because he wouldn't have been agressive at all since fighting from a long distance has always been Fury's best ability.
@@alcottdevalte7440 His performance against Wilder in the 2nd was way better than the first and Ben advised him not to be offensive in the 12th. Freddie Roach criticised Ben heavily for his corner advice, Ben also didn't think Wilder could be KOd and be put on the back foot. Dillian was KOd by Povetkin, this is true but he was beating Povetkin easy before that and then beat him in the rematch. Fury schooled Whyte in their fight which was the first time that had been done to him in years, against Wilder the 3rd time he wasn't that bad, he had bad moments but largely controlled the fight. I agree he has looked bad against Francis but that's because he overlooked him. Since he joined up with Sugar Hill he's been stepping into his punches and been far more threatening than he ever was prior, it's a tool he's added on to his technical boxing he had before.
Plan if he goes southpaw: He keeps parrying with his right hand even when switching to southpaw (he doesn’t switch to left hand which he should). So when AJ feinted he parried with his lead (right) exposing his chin from a straight right down the pipe.
