Of course this era is coming to an end to make way for a whole NEW era, which is upon us.
I hate when Ariel is in a bad mood and just blows off questions. Would have loved to hear him actually talk about the lightweights for a minute. Pettis, RDA, Eddie, Conor, Tony, Khabib there were some crazy storylines, characters and fights throughout that era. Clicked on the video because of that question and he just said “I don’t care”
Shoutout class of 2012. First PPV I watched was UFC 100 with Brock Lesnar in 2009. Dan Henderson KO of Bisping got me hooked and I watched all the UFC Unleashed/Best KO’s on Spike TV all day. Fantastic times.

His going overseas with his boyfriend for 3 months. The dynamic of the show will be changing, different host for that period of time.

The athletic and skill level in lhw and hw is garbage compared to lw and has always been. That's why islam is and should be p4p best at the moment.
@@johanneskrv the knockout odds are way higher and not sure what crack your smoking but how many 55ers can beat any of the lw hw? The fighters are getting better and more athletic it's not 20 or 30 years ago.
Islams record is terrible compared to Jones.
His best win is Olivera he arguably lost the fist volk fight and even a win over dp puts him no where close. He needs to clear out his division to even be considered

Jones's record is so good because the skill level in lhw and hw has been and still is so low. With the same skill level he would never have reigned as long in the ww, lw or in the featherweight division.
lhw and hw are _by far_ the two weakest divisions in the ufc.
@@johanneskrv no not at all skill beats size you think the lhw is not as skilled I'd say there all about the same. Fly weights and bantamweight an even fw are most skilled but it depends on the fighter not the division

“Independence” killers
It's been coming to an end for a good year or two. The introduction of the BMF, Max Holloway, and older vs young match up helped prolong it a bit. The old/young match up required some luck to keep the names around, it could've also killed it this year. Justin came back to life by nesting Fiz and Porier and winning the BMF, sure Max sparked him but he still feel like he will be relevant when he comes back. Max is now legitimately in the conversation. Tye young prospects didn't lose anything, I feel many will comeback better over the next few years. Dustin got sparked but found a new lifeforce in the BSD fight. Curious to see where Olives goes, everytime I think he's on the plummet he looks damn good in the next one. Which I think will be the way we see 2024 when it's all said and done.
Nevertheless, that can't go on forever. I'll say we have about 2 years maximum before the Olives, Dustin's, and Justin's fall genuinely out of the elite of the division if not move up or down or fully retire.
I don't see anyone leaving except dp if he doesn't get a title. Rda is still beating dudes and is 39. Max is only 32 . Chandler and Conor who are 36 will probably go soon if they don't win much. But I think most the rankings stay the same for another 4-5 years. I haven't seen much prospects in lw except arman that are young.
