    The Proper Golfing methodology coached by Julian Mellor is particularly beneficial for senior golfers for several reasons.
    Firstly, Julian Mellor's approach focuses on developing a swing that is more suited to the physical capabilities of senior players. As we age, our bodies naturally undergo changes that can affect our mobility, flexibility, and strength. Julian's coaching takes these factors into account and emphasises techniques that optimise performance within the limitations of age-related physical changes. This allows senior golfers to maintain consistency, power, and accuracy in their swings, resulting in improved overall performance on the course.
    Secondly, Julian Mellor's teaching methods prioritise simplicity and efficiency. He believes in minimising unnecessary movements and keeping the swing as natural and effortless as possible. This is especially advantageous for senior golfers who may have reduced energy levels or limited mobility. By focusing on a more streamlined and efficient swing, Julian helps senior golfers conserve energy, reduce strain on their bodies, and achieve more consistent results.
    Moreover, Julian Mellor's coaching philosophy places a strong emphasis on enjoyment and the mental aspect of the game. He understands that golf is not just a physical activity but also a mental challenge, and this is particularly relevant for senior golfers. By instilling confidence, providing effective mental strategies, and fostering a positive mindset, Julian helps senior golfers overcome any mental barriers they may face and enjoy the game to its fullest potential.
    Lastly, Julian Mellor's experience and expertise in coaching senior golfers are unparalleled. He has dedicated a significant portion of his career to understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by older golfers. Through his extensive work with senior players, Julian has developed a deep understanding of their specific requirements and has fine-tuned his coaching approach to cater to their needs. This specialised knowledge and tailored approach make Julian Mellor an exceptional coach for senior golfers.
    In summary, the Proper Golfing methodology coached by Julian Mellor is highly advantageous for senior golfers due to its focus on adapting to age-related physical changes, promoting simplicity and efficiency, emphasising enjoyment and mental strategies, and Julian's specialised expertise in coaching older players. These factors combined make his coaching approach ideal for senior golfers looking to improve their performance and continue enjoying the game at any age.

    I would recommend seniors switch to hybrids, especially in the long irons. I carry a 3, 4, 5, and 6 hybrid, and I'm considering a 7 hybrid. Hybrids are so versatile and easy to hit, a perfect club for seniors.

    Played 18 holes today. I'm a senior, so I played from the forward tees. I am new to Easiest Swing. Things went well. 45 front 46 back. I short sighted myself enough to keep me from going lower. 91 is my personal best lifetime. Thanks Julian and Jo for your help.

    Hi Julian,
    I kind of lost my way with my swing, but this video really helped me to 'reset'. The part that helped the most was your advice on achieving the correct posture. I applied it on the course today and found my swing again. Sometimes, it's the very basics that matter. Thank you.👍

    Good to see you back Julian, i worked all winter on a shorter back swing, and changing to a stronger 3-4 knuckle grip, I'm now almost 70, actually hitting it further and more accurately than ever with 3/4 swing including my driver.

    All excellent suggestions Julian for senior golfers! One thing that I have done was gone to a triangular movement (shoulders, arms, and club)and flexible wrists in my swing. Being a "super senior" I do probably get back to your 3/4 suggestion and still get reasonable distance and very good accuracy by doing so. I try to stay centered in my swing by using pressure points rather than weight transfer in my swing. As you, I agree that ball position is critical and yesterday was thinking about moving the ball back somewhat as you suggested in this video. Several years ago, I switched to graphite and to hybrids replacing long irons and mid irons. Well Done Julian!

    Wonderful video, however, as a 53 yr. old golfer, I started using an exaggerated "flared" stance this year (trying to model PGA Pro, Grant Waite), and it has worked wonders because I just don't have the lower back flexibility that I did as a teenager. You should do a video on the benefits of that.

    • @JulianMellor
      @JulianMellor  Pƙed 10 měsĂci

      Thanks for your kind comment, I’m annoyed at myself as the flared feet is something I advise golfers to do often and I forgot to mention it in this video. Appreciate the prompt and I’ll certainly create a video on this subject 👍💯

      @nightwolf2666 Pƙed 10 měsĂci

      Correct, also, one other thing I forgot to mention is that my PGA teacher encourages older golfers to experiment with choking down on the club, it makes is feel lighter and actually increases club head speed...at least for me it did. Cheers! @@JulianMellor

    Thank you for your valuable tips.
    I am 80 years old & still play regularly.
    As my average drive with the latest fitted Ping driver is only 145 yards I prefer playing off the shorter red tees.
    Off the yellow tees I struggle to score less than 100.
    Playing off the red tees I usually score in the low 90's.
    I prefer to enjoy a game with a realistic target.
    My short game makes up for my 7 wood only going an average of 120 yards.
    What do you think about my way of playing golf?

    Julian, I must say thank you because your swing is working well for me. What I have found thus far is the easier & smoother I swing the straighter & farther the ball goes. This has to be due to consistently striking the ball more in the middle of the club face. A helpful tip I wanted to throughout, I was having trouble losing long irons to the right. On the range I started closing my clubface at setup just a little with 4 & 5 iron and now hitting beautiful baby draws. Cheers to you Julian!

    Hi Julian, have you thought of making a short video instructing your subscribers on how to set up to target. I am not the only one that struggles with setup (aim) to the intended target, not necessarily the pin. I see golfers using an alignment rod but not sure if this rod is pointing to the target since the ball sits off from the alignment rod. What is the rod pointing to ? I am sure you have explained it in a prior video but I just can’t find it now. Thanks again.

      It happens quit naturally around about hip height. I wouldn’t start it too early in the downswing but don’t hold on to it too long either. Funnily enough I’ve just made a 10 part series on the roll of the wrists for the members of propergolfing.com 👍
