Your comparison videos are MVP! Clear and simple. Thank you! So the best stack for character animation would be Limber + J&Ss in your opinion?
DUIK has "List" which create more option for each transform expression, meaning u can add List for scales, rotational and such, this will create more options when rigging.
While true, it's a massive work around that you just don't have to deal with when using JnS. (Okay...maybe not MASSIVE...but it's adds complexity to the whole operation) The biggest bummer is that lists cannot be used on shape Paths, so Jns remains more capable in the end.
@@TheKeyframeAcademy "lists cannot be used on shape Paths" also true but again another work around is to create bones for the shape path, but you are right it adds complexity to the whole operation

.... Will you please make a video tutorial for everything about colour and gradient in after effects like editing color control of predefined templates AE, and how to change color scheme instantly ..... please please .... and what are the useful plugins do we need for a better coloring scheme in after effect if we are a motion graphics designer
Personal conclusion Duik can be tedious but overall it saves time and money in the full process. I haven't used joysticks and sliders but looks like you'll need another plugin for rigging the limbs since the sliders can only go so far and more sliders means more keyframes. Plus if you need to animate a raster object with puppet pins duik has bones and is a huge time saver
At the same time being able to rig paths and all in 1 click is big too

Maybe a solution for your naming conflict. Noticed in your tutorial you have several Comps within the tutorial Project. In attempting to learn JnS, I too created several Comps in the same Project as I tried different looks. Ran into the naming conflict when creating a Joystick name in the current Comp that I had used in an earlier Comp. Turns out you can use the same Joystick name repeatedly within the same Comp. However, when you attempt to use a Joystick name originally created in a different Comp is when the error message appears. Just my experience.
Hey! I have an issue that I never had before but when I play my video the picture and sound slows down and speeds up again and again (despite the green bar being fully loaded) and in the "info" window on the side it tells me that it doesn't read in real time
I can only fix it by changing the "ignore" tab (in the preview window) from 0 to 1 or more, then theres no more realtime playback issues but it plays the video like Im editing in 10fps. I'm working on a new macbook pro (one month old) M2 2022 24G RAM 1T storage, I'm using After Effects 2020.

These plugins seem very similar to Adobe Character Animator, I haven't really used any of these plugins/apps, is that the purpose of CA or is that for something else?
Is it possible to chose specific path from multiple path to use it in a slider because whenever i am using some 2 specific path

will it confuse you if you use both in the same project same comp? say if i wanna rig my character eyebrows with duik but the entire face movement with joystick sliders.
Doesn't co fuse me, I do that all the time. Like I said in the video, I typically use DUIK sliders and JNS joysticks
The only problem I have with sliders is adding the Animation principles, overlapping, follow through, squash and stretch, it's everything linear with the sliders. Do you have any advice about that? Thank you!
Use the DUIK Kleaner or Interpolator on the joystick keyframes :)
how did you change the ears order to show above the face or behind it? also, how did you change the face outline on the sides?
Using an expression that toggles the opacity freom 0 to 100% depending on the x position of the joystick.

Joysticks and Sliders has DUIK beat in one aspect as far as I'm concerned. The switch templates function. Switch templates works amazingly well when doing 360 turns. It allows you to create the 5 poses but using precomps. This tutorial explains it way better than I can, but even before I found this tutorial all of the character rigs I made used joysticks and sliders as my main scripting tool and using DUIK for rigging eye blinks and changing the size of pupils etc: czcams.com/video/syNtvC1ZOxY/video.html
That is an awesome tutorial. However, in that tutorial he doesn't use a JNS switch template. He creates a slider and uses custom expressions to turn on and off the opacity of each pre-comp according to the value of the slider...Something you can do with a duik slider as well just as well...except with DUIK you could do it all from the interface without ever having to write out the expression. I've found the actual switch templates in JNS to be kind of buggy so I usually opt for a similar expression whenever I need it. Perhaps I am using the switch templates wrong though.

Duik ‘might’ be ‘free’… but seriously. They ask for a donation. Even just 10,- Theres people putting a lot of time and effort into it. Its too bad you put that way.. even if you do the basic donation its still 30,- dollars less.
