- Don't start your Can Am Ryker/Spyder this winter. In this video I will explain why starting your motorcycle regardless of brand without taking it out for a ride is a bad idea. This video is primarily for those of us that live in a region with a COLD winter, like snow and ice winter. If you live in a warmer climate where the riding season doesn't have an end than this won't apply to you but please watch it anyway as knowledge is power. I did edit this video a different way and my skills are a work in progress so bear with me as I work through the editing process.

I got a solar battery tender on Amazon for $39 works great.
Dont see any reason it wouldn’t. My uncle has a big panel attached to his front end loader seems to work.
I think it's best to give the bike or the car a good run out and get it fully up to temp. Most people say its a good idea and helps to keep up the mechanical condition. It's also good for the brakes to help stop them seizing on and give the battery a good charge up ready for next time.
Yep thats what i hope i got across . My main thing was not to do it in such a way to damage things
I just got done riding my Spyder 998 today here in Virginia at 33° I will ride tomorrow at 31°
You trying to make a guy envious? Ill ride in the cold but its 21 today. Not going out without a reason even in a car ! Maybe Monday as it forecast to be a balmy 36 degrees out .
it got way to cold here and now the roads are covered with salt.. so no riding for me for a while. the ryker has been sitting on the battery tender in the cold weather. I agree though, don't just idle it and shut it off. Over time that'll be bad for the motor.
I wish i had a way of plugging mine in. I don’t have access to an outlet.
To all you Ryker riders.The remedy for gas stains...WD40. Just spray some on a clean rag and rub it in. That's it . Stain gone

I live in saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦 we don't ride at all from October till mid April I take my battery out put it on a battery tender have a 2019 900ace can am ryker and still on original battery 8:08
Every so often i get tempted to go that rout. I think we here in the NYC area can start riding again in late February early march given or take. Its still January and i might have a few more rides in me , its not the cold its ice ,snow and salt.
Fuel stabilizer has zero effect on protecting gasoline.
Well there are several opinions on that. That being said i don’t think it will hurt anything.
Stored at my mechanic heated garage , changing the battery in spring ( 3 year old) after verification with other user its about the life cycle. not going to lithium which is stronger but cost is to high for my need. If you have a lots of gadget and light that might be a good Idea. Full of snow here cant wait to April to ride again Alain & Yellow Thanks for the video.
Not enough bang for the buck with lithium batterie for me. I will be taking Ryker to shop relatively soon let them do slow roll maintenance and ill pick it up in February or so . No rush for me
