After reclaiming the boxing championship title, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) plans to retire and live with his wife, Adrian (Talia Shire). This while being an epic cool scene, is also a very powerful way of showing Rocky’s grief mixed with revenge thoughts and accepting responsibility for other’s actions
Not only that, he remembers every problem he had to go through, he overcame himself with the support of Apollo in the other movie and he is the champion thanks to him. At that moment, totally alone with that feeling of melancholy, he will have to face what is coming.
It also could be Rocky's life flashing before him because even he wasnt sure if he'll survive Ivan Drago.
Nothing in history can ever come between Rocky and Apollo.
We're also sad due to carl weather's death.Rest in peace Apollo Creed the best.

This is why Rocky IV is my favorite movie in the entire franchise. This was not about the title, fame, proving to others that he can do it, rematch, etc. No, it was personal, for his best friend.

This hits so much differently now that Carl is gone. It's such a strange feeling when someone you never met passes away, but you can't stop crying. I mean, Im not boo hooing incessantly, but once im alone and start thinking of all my childhood heroes dying, it's just getting too much man. Time is going fast. I'll be 40 this year. We lost Apollo, Razor Ramon, DMX. 🤷🏽♂️
Apollo was such a larger than life character. lol I remember when I FIRST saw Rocky. I loved it, but I was like 7 and I didnt understand it but I saw them all out of order 😂 So it didnt make sense to me why "rocky beat Apollo, and then in the next movie, Apollo wins by decision" lol I saw them backwards. I hated Apollo because I was just a kid. To me, he was the guy fighting Rocky. So he was automatically "the bad guy". I hated his brashness and cockiness haha!!
Its funny because many men continue to watch Rocky through our lives, and Apollo starts to become more relatable 😂😂 I'm legit crying/laughing as I type this because I know I'm talking about one of the biggest and larger than life characters of my life. But as a younger man, you start to relate to Apollo's confidence. But you also pay attention to the movie more and realize that Apollo was just some street kid in California. HE was rocky when he was younger too. He gave a small timer a chance. But Apollo was once the small timer.
