This has got to be the most no-frills, no b-s, straight to the point channel I've ever come across. No attention-seeking thumbnail, no lengthy or logo intro, no "please like and subscribe". They don't make em like this anymore. That said, so there's no half decent safe under $250 basically, which would be the code/key access only models.
Thank you, and yes, that is the problem. I know. Believe me. I've been banging my head against a wall trying to find small, affordable safes to recommend. I've reached out to numerous companies that have products I can get behind, and they either ignore my emails and phone calls, or they send me to somebody else who sends me to somebody else, or they try to sell me a safe. It just goes on and on.
@@HandgunSafe It seems to say a lot about the viability of their products if they're refusing to communicate to the "JerryRigEverything-of-handgun-safes".
Makes sense! $500 lock on front door, which has a glass sidelight panel next to it. So yay can pick a $500 lock when free landscape riverstones are free!
I think I understand your pain now. I keep seeing people online recommending lock boxes for which even my untrained eyes can notice flaws now, thanks to the many hours spent on this channel.
I can understand why you decided to stop picking the lock. Still, thanks for being the guy that increased my curiosity about lock mechanisms. Even if I never got deep into picking as a sport, believe it or not, you've always been something of a reference for me in that specific domain.
"So this is really fundamental stuff here. I have covered this mistake at length on my website, so there's really no excuse for a company that make this kind of mistake."
Yes, I said that. And these companies keep making the same mistakes over and over again. The funny thing is that a manufacturer in China can get CCP permission to examine my CZcams channel because it's relevant to their industry, but the manufacturer doesn't always understand the my videos.
Since bad guys don't pick locks, I don't want to give people the impression that they should make decisions based on keyed locks. I think I would do more of a service by breaking locks as quickly as possible. This should push people in the direction of the safes I recommend, most of which have entry pads or mechanical locks. I also don't want to be in the position of advising people on locks anymore, whether that person is a consumer or a company rep looking for free consulting. Companies don't want to hear that they have to spend more money, and consumers don't often know enough about locks to size, order, and replace their own locks. And I don't want to get into showing people how to replace locks anyway. I've had email exchanges that went on way too long and left people unhappy with their decision to start messing with locks.
Your way of comparison is always to take a low-priced safe to compare high-priced, your way of comparison is not objective, and you never use tools on the high-priced safe, from my point of view, there is no completely safe lock in the world, only suitable for their own needs of the lock, so you are not an objective blogger
You obviously have not watched my other videos. I have used tools to attack some very high-priced safes, including the V-Line Brute and the Fort Knox Original Pistol Box. After these attacks, the companies updated their products. I also was the first to attack the Vaultek products when they came out in 2016. I have, in fact, attacked dozens of Vaultek safes over the years, and slowly by slowly they continued updating their products. And now I'm going to delete your other comment, since it's just the same remark, and I don't allow trolling. Keep it up and I'll ban you as a user here.

Yep. There you go. That is, in fact, what ends up happening.
@@HandgunSafe An acquaintance of mine told a story when the lock, an expensive one, was the only item stolen.
@@vsevolodtokarev That's a great story!

4:27 This reminds me of some guy named Dave saying "this is basic knowledge"

For anyone who's still reading, that was in the following video: "Wincent Sent Me a Gun Safe To Hack"

Would love to see you review the wyze and eufy safes.
Let me look into it. If I can get a company to send me something for free, that's always preferable.
It sounds like you are pretty tired or it's been a very long day; unless it's just my imagination.
Not your imagination. I am truly burned out on this channel. I have another couple of videos to record, and I'll do what I can to be energetic.
Why not keep the lock picking part. It only takes a few seconds of your video to pick it open.
