- this week we are crafting a dock, or maybe a cell. we could craft a tower. this week we are crafting a lighthouse for dungeons and dragons.
I would love to hear your thought on the build in the comment section bellow. I’m a fan of anything modular. Allows me to use versatile crafts over and over again without having to craft something new. Like always let’s thank the patreons for supporting the channel and and giving me the chance to craft for you.

Tool identity: rotary rasp. Barrel, or Cylindrical, Rotary Rasp should be correct terminology for the one you show at 0:46. Larger versions are called Drum Rotary Rasp.
Ploxxord thanks a lot. That’s been bothering me for a week now.
@@FrankyDCrafter You are most welcome. Glad to be of service.
MVP /cheer
also called a rotary burr
@@alexdryden7676 You are correct.
Made an attempt to mitigate potential confusion via narrowing down to identifying specific item shown in video by stating it as a particular shape of Rotary Rasp.
You use the best music of any crafter. If I have to listen to one more epic fantasy two-steps-from-hell-esque track, my old heart is gonna blow. This was so chill and lax, that I felt calm watching it.
Min Max you really think so? I love music so that’s a bigger compliment than telling me the craft was cool.
@@FrankyDCrafter A lot of the epic music can make you hype for the build, but I find it really distracting for when I want to pay attention to the little details and what the crafter is saying. This music was really enjoyable and I found it much easier to follow along and learn. Also, the craft looks amazing and I love the modularity you bring to your builds.
Magazo! Excelente pieza mi carnal, un abrazo y mantente sano.
Que tal un encuentro con un polilla gigante que ataca al faro? Estaria de lujazo. Ya tengo proyecto para el fin de semana, gracias.
Great build!!! Love the modular aspect.
Oats? Been watching Bard's Craft? XD
Anyhoo, cool build as always mr. Frank
Daniel Straw he’s a good friend of mine.
"Guud."
Love the modular aspect of this craft. Its inspired me to look at my crafting differently
Toxic Gases that’s awesome to hear. Thanks!
That's awesome!
That lighthouse keeper earns his paycheck.
That lighthouse is bloody brilliant, I loved it.
Love the way this came out. The LED light will make a great impression on the gaming table. Now you have to do a Light House Keeper.
CREATURES CAVERNS & CRAFTING what’s that? Lol
Normally a Light House Keeper is some poor worker that is basically stranded on the island or the light house itself for weeks or months. They tend the light and general upkeep of the light house.
CREATURES CAVERNS & CRAFTING ohhhh I thought you meant like the house where the light keeper stays in.
@@FrankyDCrafter either would be cool...but I am picturing some half demented worker that has been in the light house for way too long =) Just an idea. Keep up the great videos.. I binged watched all your content =)
As usual, an excellent build. Well thought out, well executed and very versatile. You asked for suggestions so how about: a wizards tower, a guard tower, a temple or a high place for sacrifices. I am always impressed with your work. You may not have wanted it to look professional, but you're one of the few builders that has made randomness looked planned, like it is supposed to look this way. Again excellent build.
Keith Shuler thanks a lot. Means a lot to me.
Esta buenisimo sos un crack 👍👍 segui asi
Marcelo Mendieta muchas gracias. Te tú sabes, aquí tratando.
Loving the bottom part platform that can be reused as crossroads docks, defenetly going to craft this for my table!! Real nice looking dome too, nice scavenge! Personnally id' have spent a few minutes to personnalise the LED rim for stylistic continuity, but thats mostly nitpicking. Great content as always Franky! Peace!
Landvaettr's Lair lol I’m getting that a lot
Dope! Roof came out sick. I love that ship in the vid too.
Right on
Great piece. I can see lots of use for that.
It is excellent
I'd like to see you create more monsters and maybe vehicles? It's awesome how you build these.
Vehicle wise I’ve made a train and an ork jet.
awesome build dude, i'm all about crafts that you can scatter across a regular dry-erase battle mat. this would make a killer set piece for sure
grmcnastyhouse i can’t wait to use it with my players.
You are the best ❤️
Maybe add a harpoon to keep the sea monsters at bay.
That’s an awesome idea
Nice build. Really like the modularity.
You waving, in the shiny bottom of the can, made me lol! XD
Campaign Terrain Im glad you noticed.
How did I miss this when it came out. LOL! I really liked your opening. The tool is called a burr - it goes in the end of a dremel tool to texture a surface.
TheGameSmith lol hit that notification
This is one epic idea and a freaking cool build!
Tyärk Schettler awesome and thank you
Very cool looking wood!
Eric Lamoureux Thank you, I was on the fence about aging it more but I’m glad I didn’t.
@@FrankyDCrafter I'm glad you didn't. What kinda wash did you use? That golden brown look is very sharp.
Eric Lamoureux dipping formula sepia wash. Game color.
Dayum Franky, this one is clean.
Hall of Craft it’s so not like me lol
Make a windmill. It will add a lot to your scenario.
augustelos i think I just might
Epic!!! Great build, thanks
Öates brother!
I love it. I'm still watching, but I WANT that tool you used for wood texture!
The Crafting Brothers I pinned the comment that answered what that was
Great work man. Love it
Real Terrain Hobbies gasp!!!!! I don’t know what to say. I’m a fan of your work. Love one of the windmills in one of your latest video. Thinking of crafting something like that to add to this piece.
@@FrankyDCrafter Haha, thanks man. :) That would be awesome if you made something like that. I'd like to do the same. That one in my vid is just a resin cast from Tabletop World hehe. The plan is to make one by hand eventually too. I'm sure you'll get to it first so I'll keep an eye out for your take on it. ;)
Real Terrain Hobbies I won’t let you down
Great build. I would have painted the case of the LED too otherwise the white sticks out (imho).
Love how it can be used in many different guises
Brush &Quill I was on the fence the whole time. I think I’ll paint it, just don’t know what I would paint it like.
@@FrankyDCrafter you should ne able to unscrew it to remove the clear part then I'd give it a dark silver wash as they used to be made of iron
Maybe a bell tower for one of the modular pieces?
Great build. Will be poaching some ideas for my Frostgrave table
Awesome, I might do that idea for sure.
I love your work man, so full of creativity and lots of fun pieces. If there's one thing I would add/change on this piece, it would be to add nails and rivets. It can be tedious work to add such small details to wooden planks and metal frames. But the end result once painted always looks amazing.
MorkNGork honestly I was going to and then spaced out and forgot..... I think I’ll still do it.
Really great - very inspiring, for craft and play.
I noticed you using a kitchen knife...Hmmmm... LOL!
The Crafting Brothers it’s easier since I work in kitchens.
I have no artistic ability, but this is amazing!! Fun and safe things to do during a pandemic!
I think anyone can do it, the painting is the hard part.
nice work Franky
Jose Ortiz thank you bro
Great work man👍
Gnomestead Railways nice to hear from you again!
Franky D. Crafter thanks man. It’s growing season and I’ll be very busy till harvest in October. I’m trying to catch up. On everyones videos. It’s Probably going to be impossible to complete catch up.take care and be well 👍
Gnomestead Railways stay healthy
Good build, creative.
buzzsah thank you
You can call me Buzz
"Frankenstein'd the crap out of it" is my new favorite saying...
Michael Sloup it worked lol
Sweet!.
I love how reusable these towers are. You can use them or add new floors as you need to.
Love the video, esp. the gentle ambient music as it's very relaxing. Little nit pick though (Sorry, but I'm a little OCD about obvious mistakes and it drives me nuts ! - if you look at the stones around doorways and windows in stone built buildings, they always have either "lintel" stones or "key stones" that support the gap underneath. Lintels are long, straight, thick stones that extend over the upright side posts by at least 1' on each side. Key stones are rhomboid shaped stones that interlock in a semi-circle above the doorway so the weight of the building can rest on the stones which distribute the weight through to the base. I know these are only terrain pieces and you can fashion them however you want, but for me, if your going to do something, then make it look as realistic as possible). Apart from that, love the build and it ended up looking amazing.
Pebbles The Cat I love criticism like this. Thank you. There is always next build. I’ll have to look into this. Thank you.
@@FrankyDCrafter
I'm so sorry if my coment offended you or seemed disrespectful in any way, it honestly wasn't meant to be. I've thought about it and your right and I'm wrong.
You have the guts to create something that looked pretty fantastic to be honest, video it, and put it out there on CZcams for all the world to see. Then here I come, geek glasses in hand and trash talk it, nit picking it because I have an inner nerd running down my spine that yells at me when I see something that's not 100% authentic, even though this build is not meant to be a realistic copy of an actual building, it's just a representation of it, purely devised by your imagination and brain power.
That's not your problem mate, its entirely mine.
I genuinely love the final result and I really like how you edit your videos as they seem very professional and polished. So in short... I apologise.
Pebbles The Cat no, it didn’t. Sometimes I have writing messages for this reason. I really do like criticism.
When I was in high school I was an amazing pen artist, but I always hated the critic part because when it came to my turn. People would always talk about how good the drawing was. This would upset me because what I wanted was pointers to improve on for next time. I don’t just want to hear I made something good. I want to hear about how I can make the next one better.
I actually really liked your comment. I thought to myself that I should pay attention to smaller details like that. My biggest obstacle in this build was finding good references for it. I had to make something more my stile. I realized I missed a few details by doing so. Like nails on the planks. Lol
Please, don’t change the way you felt about the original comment. I actually found it helpful. It’s good for me as a crafter. And as an astuta it’s even better. I appreciate your honesty and I didn’t see any malice in the comment.
That rasp gave you some great results for the wood. Good call! Are you sanding down the popsicle sticks afterwards, or just using them immediately? Thank you, in advance.
Matthew Kemp I just pass the blade over them to get.
Love u Mr. Crafter Franky... hope u release some new Stuff soon... and that ur well... but just to release more stuff for me to steal ur ideas... damn Covid... i really hope ur ok franky...
I’m doing fine just in the middle of moving my studio and sadly that took longer than expected. Thank you for checking in on me.
@@FrankyDCrafter New Studio mhm ? Sounds good... hook me up if u need some muscle to help u carry all the stuff arround...
I like the bricks style a lot. Can you tell me the aprox measure of the bricks?
Zombieland III 2 1/2 cm by 1 cm give or take. An inch by half an inch. Loosely
anybody ever tell you that you sound kinda like kumail nanjiani? ps i almost had a heart attack when you whipped out that kitchen knife 😂
I wish my English would sound that good
Comment for youtube
Gerke Bouma i love it
maybe a little late to the party here but what is used to make the stones? Foam / Sculpy?
Never too late. It just foam.
Love the build. If I may ask, what kinda scissor§cutter is this ??? Never seen it before and it seems really useful and practical.
HarazhanGF they are for gardening. They are amazing.
@@FrankyDCrafter Thank you for your answer. I'm gonna go and search some gardening tools.
HarazhanGF look for pruning snips, I think that’s what they are called.
@@FrankyDCrafter Thanks again for the complementary tip.
HarazhanGF lol I wish I could be more helpful
