*this is for anyone who's bored and just want to answer some questions
so I read TDI and I loved it but I picked City of Bones up and started reading but the writing oh my god was a big nope for me.I just didn't like it!So I want you,the one who's reading this rn,thank you btw,to tell me if the books are getting better because I heard a lot of good things about TMI and I really wanted to enjoy it but the writing to me was like I was reading a story by a 10 year old but I wanted to enjoy the shadowhunter world:(.please,please tell me if the writing is better in the other books because I want to know if they're worth the money*
I think it improves 500%. There definitely are a lot of flaws in book one that disappear over the series. My recommendation is to always read up to book 3. If you still don't like it, the ending is satisfying and it feels like you didn't just stop mid series. But book 3 is where most people really fall head over heels for a series, so I'm pretty sure you'll love it by then :) it can be really tough for some people but I highly highly recommend investing some time into the first 3 books before totally giving up AND THANK YOU SO MUCH LOVE THAT MEANS SO MUCH

+BookwurmPanda i had been emailing different people and different simon & schuster contacts since november trying to find out how to get an arc of it
receiving arcs from publishers is definitely a process. a lot of publishers have a subscriber quota of about 10,000 (because the reason they choose to send you the book is so that your large amount of followers will go out and buy it so they get more money haha), so if you're planning on asking for review arcs, that's something to keep in mind when you first start!
most people who work with publishers start by having independent authors and small publishing companies contact the booktuber to review the book. having the experience of working on a smaller scale definitely helps if you're planning to work with the bigger companies.
