An important note for the Bristly Crake: If you are sprinting around without the Ghillie Mantle, you may scare it off the Mosswine's back. You may still find him trying to run for his life and hitting a wall (literally), right by the mushroom at the end of that little path but he's tricky to see there bc it's dark, plus he doesn't stick around for ages!
Bunny Logs isn't he on the kestadons back aswel in the elders recess
Not trophy related noteworthy rare pets- Wiggler queen, giant vigorwasp, pilot hare, grandfather mantagrell, and dapper coralbird.
Gentleman Kaiju There's the Augurfly too
Gentleman Kaiju Giant vigorwasp surprisingly isn't rare, he spawn in the same location any time of the day
Westley Will neither are the grandfather mantagrell but I felt they're ignored so often they need recognition. Kinda like the pteryx

Grandfather mantagrell arent actually rare there are a bunch of them flying above cpral highlands, and there are more rare pets like the swordfish, phantom butterfly, the hercudome beetle, gold beetle, glowing gecko just below the second capsite of rotten vale, the other kind of pterix "dont know the name cos i havent got it yet" apparently they appear when its raining in the ancient forest, the emerald hermicrab and that blue dragonfly thing in the wildspire waste that only appear at night. I bet there are more just havent found them yet.
The petricanths can also be found in the elder recess eastern campsite (8), when spawning there all you have to do is flip a 180 and go to the water. On the far left side of the water there are some rocks he likes to hide behind. Found this spot to work much better for me in terms of spawn rate then the one from this video

Thank you! The downy crake is something I've been trying to find over and over. I'm always running through the Ancient Forest over by the beach and I thought that they spawned from a bush and kept running through them again and never finding them. I could hear them sometimes running by as well.

I was doing the “Gettin’ Yolked In The Waste” quest because t’was the only quest left i needed to do to finish up all my 3 star quests and as i was approaching the herbivore nests i heard the familiar Downy Crake chirp and by some strike of luck i managed to catch the entire lot of em’.
Just the day before i caught 3 after hours of refreshing and now i just hit motherlode on here. It was a good evening.
So yeah, try checking the herbivore nests where all the Apceros are when doing that particular quest cuz they might spawn there.
I just started so I love your videos. Your not like most videos and actually give accurate instruction you can follow. Even if you don’t know every inch of every map like most CZcams videos.
I found a petricanth In elders recess in the pool by the camp in area 8
I found one there too
I found the Prism Hercudrone down in a lowest water area in the Coral Highlands. There's probably spots in all the areas somewhere for it.
Obviously it's much harder to come across since you can't possibly see them, but the Downy Crakes can also be found rarely on the backs of the Grandfather Mantagrells in the Coral Highlands. Again, it's a much less effective way to find them since you can't tell which one they're on top of, but I just got lucky when I shot one down and Downy Crakes went running everywhere.
It's worth noting that the Prism Hercudrome can also be found in the Wildspire Waste. I happened upon mine on the way to the zone where Jyuratodus sleeps on one of the upraised platforms.
I've managed to spot the prism within the wildspire and elders recess, had no clue it was in the forest, great job.
you can also find the petricanth in the elder's recess camp with the crystal lake next to it (for me he spawned on the far left side, waaay in the back)
Downy Crakes also have a chance to spawn on top of Grandfather Mantagrells by the cliffs where Legiana tends to be.
The Petricanth can also be found in the Elder's Recess in the Eastern Camp. There's a pool there with 3 different sections. The left-most that has the Platinumfish also has a chance of spawning the Petricanth. Also, I think the Bristly Crake might have a chance to spawn on any Mosswine as I have found one in the Coral Highlands.
Living fossil is also in elder recess at fishing spot 8 more down river
You can catch the fish in Elders Recess too. Just go to the area 8, in fact just start there. I just caught it on the right hand side of the pond. It is my third one now, made me feel cool to catch it somewhere other than where we were told we could catch it.

Petricanth can be found in Elder's Recess as well. That is where I found mine. In the crystal caves near the northeast camp.
So question about the Crakes. Do I just have to keep re entering until I see it or do I need to follow the monsterbin question around until it spawns?

Downy Crake can be found in coral highlands riding the large flying bugs. You usually never see the tops of them except in a few areas and they are out of reach so you have to shoot it down to make them drop for quick capture.

I found the Prism Hercudrome in the Wildspire Wastes on my way to where the Jyruatodus spawns on the right platform.
Downey Crakes can also be found on Grandfather Mantagrells
The Petrocanth can also be found in the Elder’s Recess in the one camp by that one lake at the upper levels.
Caught a Pilot Hare at night on the incline to Anjanath's nest in the Ancient Forest yesterday. Thought they were daytime only. XD
There’s also the wiggler queen in the coral highlands that can only b found at night n will have an orange head instead of a blue one like the rest (the wigglers r those snake guys)

Dipi4pinoy zone one just load in throw on your ghille mantle jump down and crouch around that zone the one I found was litterally to the left after landing

Also to note that I've also found the petricanth spawning in the Elder's Recess Notherwest Camp pool. If it spawn you can see it at the far left corner of the pool.

I found the prism hercudrome in the wild spire wastes in between the barroth "nest" and the big pack of gaiju.
The Petricanth can also spawn in Elder's Recess, conveniently in one of the camps, Area 8 iirc.
Try capturing the Pink Hare in the Ancient Forest and Wild Spire Zone 1. When you see those little brown weasel rabbit randomly pink one will appear. You won’t get an achievement or trophy but it is one of those rare animals that you might have over looked. Pink Hare
I missed it out cause I caught one early one. Didn't think it was that rare but with all the comments this vid has got about the other rare pets (non trophy/achievement pets) I may make a second vid covering them :D
Do they have to be caught in a certain order? Or can u do each whenever the opportunity arises?
You can ALSO find the Prisim Hurcudrome in the Wildspire Waste near Jyratodus's resting area
For the rare fish you actually don't have to leave the area. I was farming the golden fish and just running back and forth between the 2 ponds when 1 showed up with the respawns.
You can also find the purism hercudrome in the desert map just before the catfish (forgot their names) just need to look for the anchor beetles and its up on a ledge on the side of a tree.
I found those back riding chickens on Coral Highlands on the backs of those giant flying insects you can shoot down where you fight legania.
I actually found my downy bird in one of the tunnels linked to the Rathian cave sitting on a thick-skinned fruit. Then again, it looked like it was having some kind if seizure on top of it, so perhaps it wasn't really meant to be there.

i found a prism hercudrone in the wildspire waste, going into area 10, on the left island, on the tree where the wedge beetle is, at dawn.
For some reason I found the Downy Crake randomly on the floor in Wildspire Waste and then again in Coral Highlands. Never actually seen one on top of anything, I'm a little confused now.

Does it matter if it’s high rank low rank expeditions?
There is a gold hercudrome in the wildspire waste that only shows up at night. It is found at the very top of the map. Don’t remember which area though
Actually, I don't know if it's a fluke but I was able to just run too and from camp to respawn them. The Crake in particular. I ran up to the moss swine and he wasn't there so I went fishing where you get the ancient fossil. I turn around five or ten minutes later and he spawned in as I was exiting out.
I actually found the downy crake in a bush, didn't know what it was at first just heard the bush chirping and went for it, got 4
Prism Hercudrome isn’t limited to the ancient forrest.. I’ve found them in the Wildspire Wasteland, Coral Highlands and the Rotten Gale thus far.
high rank or master rank?
Durring a hunt for the anjurath I saw a passive monster running away from something and on its back we’re these weird things jumping around, I immediately tried to catch them but I guess I missed lol so damn

I got lucky and found the Prism Hercudrome in my first couple hours of playing! Purely by accident.

I can't really find the downy crake im in a high rank, and i look for them in a high rank map. But nothing, it has been 3 days already :(

I've caught a crane in the wildlife waste, but it was on a small flower.
I found my petracanth in the elders recess in the lake at camp 8. I was looking for a platinum fish and found it instead.
another rare pet is the emerald helmcrab, spawns only during rainy weather, and the giant vespifly
g3m0n also regularly spawned with the iron helmcrabs in the lower veil

You don't have cc to back out of an expedition to get new fish in a pond, just fish in up for the gold scales go room around farm some stuff the check the pond again, way better use of time when it's not there than backing out then going back in fish will re pop about a min after you leave the area but only if are looking at it they won't re pop silly isn't it

You can find the fish on camp 8 Elders Recess just inside the camp
Your wrong in saying you can only find the fish in the Vale you can also find it in elders recess at camp 8s body of water

hahaha I have not used my fishing rod yet in this game. Just ghilie suit throw net lol caught so many fish. Havent caught that fish in the vail yet; I wonder if it would be possible to net him lol

Probably not trophy related but I came across some differently colored pets a couple times. Found a red wiggler in the coral highlands, and a white with red markings rabbit creature (I forgot the name obviously) in the wildspire wastes.

They should all appear in high rank expedition, sorry to hear you're not finding them :( Remember if you don't see them, to leave the area completely and then come back. It can be frustrating to find them but keep at it! Make it a habit to drop in on the places they appear as you're doing investigations etc and eventually you'll find them!
