    Considering that the Demonfx costs a fraction of the Darkglass, if you're thinking about buying it, go ahead without hesitation; it's worth every penny. The pedal is very well built and extremely responsive, ranging from a clean tube-like tone to extreme distortion, with many sound-shaping possibilities. Regarding the issue of having less volume compared to the Darkglass, it didn't matter to me since I never needed to use the pedal at maximum volume.

    There are obvious differences between the both of them, specially the volume drop on the demonfx, and the lpf/hpf knobs. Completely audible imo, but honestly, not much difference to justify the huge price difference for casual players, bedroom warriors, and non-professionals. I am planning on buying this just to try out the lpf/hpf specifically. FYI, I did own a demonfx A7K pedal that didn't actually sound like a true b3k/a7k from darkglass...too different sounding, controls where not that useable, the toggles did different things as opposed to the original design. I sold it, and got the JOYO double thruster, which sounds exactly like a B3K.

    I’m back after watching this video I purchased a Demonfx microtubes D7k ultra tax and shipped it came to $97 . It sounds amazing so I decided to buy another one since the sound & quality were excellent i got the alpha omicron $64 total and it sounds amazing too and then after being fully convinced without any doubt about Demonfx having spot on products I scooped up a cali76 compressor also oh so sweet $82 . I’m just some random person to you all but I’m not lying these pedals are dam well amazing they will not disappoint you. I’m really impressed with the microtubes D7k ultra paired with the cali76 compressor, I removed my boss bass overdrive 3 and my boss Cs 3 compressor from my board they are sitting in a draw now and probably forever

      Happy that you enjoyed their pedals. Maybe one day I will have an opportunity to try some more of their replicas myself

      I had the same experience with the Alpha Omicron. It just sounds exactly the same when dialed right.
      With the exception of the growl switch being a bit louder on the DemonFX, I don't see why anyone would be buying Darkglass now.

    I got a B3K for half price new, but if not I would totally have bought a Demon FX clone. For the price difference for a bedroom bassist it’s a no brainer.

    If Darkglass would also put the power placement on top then that would improve their pedal a lot.
    They sound close, so for a quarter of the price you get 90% there.

    Apart from the volume drop, the differences are minimal. I can hear a difference, but in a blind test I couldn’t tell you which is which.

    Great Review! Thank You! Not exactly the same but the Demon Fx sounds also damn good. I was really surprised. The DG has a little bit more grit and hair.

      @@VitalyGanja Yes, that's absolutelty true, but I always decreased the gain on my mackie knob while the DG was playing to get similar listening results. DG products cost 4 time more than the Demon Fx, that is incredible.

      Dark glass are swindlers man,,,,these clone brands are showing that if they can sell the exact same circuit for 200$ or more less,,,then brands like dark glass and mxr are literally laughing their way to the bank with YOUR, money.

    How is it that so many of you are clueless about part tolerances? Putting two pedals knobs at the same place proves nothing except their parts are different spec. So unless they use the same exact 152k pots and 26pf capacitor here and 188 of cap there, and the same exact 229k resistor here and the same 7.92k resistor there, etc...then it's impossible for them to sound the same on the same settings. So it's USELESS to even do that.

      @SlavSquatSenpai Pƙed 8 měsĂci +7

      Your comment literally reads like đŸ€“đŸ€“đŸ€“"umm actually."
      You seem clueless to why people are clueless on part tolerances. The average person is not going to go the same extent that people like yourself (albeit, uselessly) would go to understand the difference between the sound of 2 pedals. Crazy how someone needs to explain such a matter of fact to someone who knows so much about tolerances and specifications of potentiometers. Oh no, the potentiometer value is different, and impedence is changed, and the capacitance of this part...
      Consider using your ears. The pedals sound nearly identical. Sure, they don't sound exactly the same when dialed at the same exact degrees/clock positions; but it's really not that hard to deduce the similarity in tone (if you had good memory and a trained ear).

    • @StrayLion
      @StrayLion Pƙed 8 měsĂci +4

      Okay well, how about you make a video/recording where you use both with identical settings, and make a convincing argument that they *aren't* nearly identical in sound, rather than simping for Darkglass in the comments thread of a video that proved the exact opposite of your claim?
      Better yet! How about you provide a compelling argument that whatever differences exist between DG and DemonFX, are worth paying the 150-200 extra dollars that comes with the Darkglass brand logo? Give the rest of us clueless peasants a reason to spend premium dollars, since you've got so much more experience.
