    can you combine the two? ie. record live, and then go back to the studio and edit the parts that you don't like from the live recording, and add whatever part you may want to add?

    What is your learned opinion about a comment like this:
    How ironic that nowadays, every musical act goes out live and tries to "sound like the album," when back then the magic was already there live and you tried to capture it on the album.
    Is this even rational? Special pleading?
