- This video is part 1 of the 1980 Honda CBX Restoration Video Series and features the Introduction & Tear Down Featuring a trip to the Powder Coating facility to show the whole powder coating process.
All these video series on the digitalpizza CZcams channel are presented by Peter Rose on the Frame off Restoration Process of classic Japanese motorcycles and classic American muscle cars including Honda CB 750, Honda CBX, CB1100F, CB900F and 1967 1968 & 1969 Camaro Z/28 and SS cars - Auta a dopravní prostředky
This is my dream bike. I know they got issues with certain things but it’s iconic. ❤
Peter, really appreciate the time you have taken to provide viewers with the series of videos on how to go about restoring a CBX. I have one and have it stripped down and as money permits, the work or parts are being purchased. I have my brand new Delkavic Pipes that are still in the box, the Frame has been powder coated, etc.Once the whole thing is complete, it will be a dream come true.
As a young teenager, I would lay in my bed on a Summer morning with the window open and this most incredible sound would travel across our city via an arterial highway. I would only get to hear the sound and would just be so curious as to what was making the sound.
This one day, I finally found out what was making this incredible sound-It was a 1980 Honda CBX with a 6 into 1 Pipe. From that day to this day, the CBX has been etched in my memories.
Hoping to have the bike on the road in the Summer of 2022.
As The MotorCycle Broker says, "these bikes are headed to 6 figures". I can truly believe it.
I'm really glad to see this video; I was worried yesterday when it popped up as Private [!] and then disappeared...
Based on the bizarre Stator Rube Goldberg device, and now the Swingarm pivots, holy cow, I never realized that there was more complexity involved with many CBX parts, other than that amazing engine! Thanks so much for posting these, mate :)
Same here. I was pissed it went private. CZcams has been making too many uploads private for no reason. Why!
I always enjoy these uploads from you!
My dream bike CBX!😄
You are awesome 👍 Really love your work! Thank You!!!
Wow, so many CBX’s, lovely bikes, wish I had one, as usual a great video, love your CBX series, please keep making them, 👍👍👍😀
Very interesting and good made video, thanks from Europe 🙏🙂
Parabéns pelo excelente trabalho.
This is the first video I've watched of your channel and I loved the format, I'm about to restore a CBX 1000 myself so I'm going to watch a lot of your content over the next couple of weeks, thanks again
Hi John
Great, thank you so much 😎
Looks just like the PC shop I use!
You do such a good job on your channel :)
I have a 79 CBX in red. Have owned it since 2002., 6050 miles Also picked up a 1100F last week .Guy I bought it from owned it since 1990. Missing chain guard and screw that holds in the tach cable to motor. He included stock seat and complete stock exhaust..
Hi Peter,
great videos . I am using them a lot to plan for my 1979 CBX project. A question to the Powder coating. Did you use a 3 layer powder coating on the frame? Primer, Black and high gloss or just two layer; primer and high gloss black? I am getting different advice from powwder coaters here. One says the black is better without a gloss clear coat, the other says it would be better with it. All say a primer should be used. Thx
just picked up my 1980 CBX this pas weekend with original 1600 miles....trying to figure either selling or take on the process of restoring...BUT what an awesome bike...are you a open to the public business? thanks, keep up the great work!!!
Hi Gavin, Thank you for your comment. Sounds like you found an amazing 80 with super low miles. I am open to the public, but by an arranged time or day, as I am there at various times during the day. Best to call me a let me what day or time. Thanks again Gavin, Pete
Try Kroil to loosen parts
Now i saw you rebuilt cbx’s for private clients?, nice!, i have mi self a cbx 1980 model, is a big difference with first 2 years model?, mine i think is USA made
Front end crash? 900f replacement?
No crash, just someone who wanted to upgrade the front end at some point in its life
Saw a 1982 with no Title listed on San Diego California Craigslist. Was debating on whether it was worth the restoration and expenses.
Get it for free or next to nothing with a bill of sale. Use bill of sale to get lost title. If you can't get title for whatever reason, part out for your next bike.
Where are u located? Would like to speak to you..I'm in tampa fl..
@@shedred1967 How feasible is getting a lost title in California?
@@kennethgoyens9821 California, Why?
@@markopolo945 , very feasible with a bill of sale that is notarized. I've done it myself, grew up in Camarillo. Living in MT now and just helped a guy take my cousins 82 trans am w/o a title. Just took four days to get a new title.
