- This GT7 Race is Finally Official! // Is PSVR2 still Worth it in 2024 for Sim Racing? We are headed to Tsukuba in Gran Turismo 7 for Daily Race A in PSVR2. Usually this online race does not effect your driver rating but this week it will! This adds a third race to the weekly Daily Races that will count towards your DR which is great! It is a short race in a Mazda Roadster car. Also in this video I will be discussing my thoughts on PSVR2 and Sim Racing on the PS5. Is it still worth it for you to pick up for GT7 even though the headset seems to be losing support from Sony? I will give you my thoughts on it while we hope to get a good, clean finish in this Daily Race.

If you are not using VR then you are 100% missing out on a great gt7 experience period.

For reals I had a warranty on an ice machine that was $600. They gave me $600 in credit and I didn't know what to do with it so I got the psvr headset. I already had Gt7 and I already loved the game man was I missing out with the out. Love it now I want to upgrade my g923 to the pro version
The only thing missing from PSVR2 from GT7 is the leaderboard it makes it harder when doing daily races not knowing who pitted and how far you are from the leader or how far the person behind you is. Besides that it’s a great experience
Yes and it's crazy they have not updated this! But for VR, it's worth the sacrifice.
You’re completely correct, PSVR2 is great but not knowing where other drivers are time wise and when ppl pit is a big disadvantage especially on longer races.
Maybe we need a CZcamsr to push this with polyphony. 😉
Great stuff, they need to do more MX-5 races. look how popular it is on iRacing. Totally right about Braking differences in a race compared to qualify. I think if most drivers see that we would get less smash up carnage on Lap 1 of races. Ive been on iRacing all week, but gonna give this a try race A today. I really like Tsukuba Circuit too.
With you on PSVR2 as well. I think if It doesn't sell they could do $120 off and bundle it with GT7 and Call of the Mountain. They have a backlog of about 1 million. If they did that it could possibly revive the headset. But I think a lot of PSVR2 failure is down to the massive amount of negative press, Thanks IGN (remember you cant see IGNorance with out IGN) and Bloomberg. Some content creators really hate the PSVR2, and a lot of people slag it off without even trying it.

ahh man, thats my combo! :D and dr is back.. Love to see it ! Also driving just in vr gt7 ;) usually starting 1st in this one and usually some donkeys just pushes me out in the turn one, messing the whole race up ! :D but track and car combo is a gem.
wait, psvr2 will work on pc ??? that would be awesome, could play asseto in vr too ! :D
and you are 100% right.. once u tried racing in vr.. thres no way back :D it just feells to fake watching into the screen.. UNLESS you gonna make 3 cuurved screens rig ! :D otherwise, it just doesnt give the joy anymore as it does in the vr ;)
According to Sony, they are working on making the headset compatible with PCs. We'll see though.
I have been impatiently waiting for the Roadster to return for daily A. I only encoutered 2 dirty drivers all week. I've had a blast this week!

Race A is a blast this week. I'll keep trying to beat your 1:03 qualifier. That first turn.. you gotta ride inside the turn & let everyone else ram around on the outside. A good thing about this race for VR users.. you don't need the HUD at all. Just go when the red lights on the right go out.
Anytime you can get to the inside and get out quick of turn 1 on any race, that's a good day! 😄
What if they added crew chief, it would solve a lot of psvr2 problems ie car ahead behind times , spotter, I dont use hud so would love it
Yeah, any type of spotter or crew chief in the game would be so helpful.
Have you heard of the Globular Cluster CMP2 comfort mod for psvr2? I received mine last week and am really enjoying it. I didn’t think psvr2 was uncomfortable to begin with… I guess I was wrong. It does add weight, but most of that weight is in the back so it balances the unit out.
I have not. I use a headband under the headset that helped with the comfort as I find it not so comfortable without it for long sessions.
Yes, I also use a thin Buff brand headband. I didn’t like the feeling of the vinyl material on my forehead, and it helped with the sweat. One thing to note about the globular cluster is that it adds bulk to the back of your head that can interfere with your sitting position if you have a headrest. Check out some reviews on it, I say it’s worth it for those that VR a lot.

Yeah, I didn't change anything. Not even sure what you can change. So happy to see Race A add in DR!
@@thecasualracinggamer 👍yes nice change.. it's suspension... Very difficult to feel a change compared to a GT car.. tried adjusting a bit but going round in circles.. will have a play later in week
@@thecasualracinggamer I know you don't normally do time trials (unless they are oval 🤣) but the maclaren vgt is quite an experience in VR Cas 👌 especially if you don't have 1 in your garage 👍
Funny, I hopped into it yesterday just because I wanted to see it in VR. I didn't complete a lap because if I did, I would have kept going for hours to get a good time. 😄

The thought of no PSVR2 on GT8 is horrible GT7 is hands down one the best PSVR2 games. The fact that some people refuse to use it because they think they would be slower is crazy it adds so much more excitement to the game.
People can ran fast on a controller. VR is definitely not slowing you down. 😄 I really hope PD doesn't remove VR support for the next version of the game. My concern is they have not released a VR update for the game since release.
Honestly when I first started playing VR my lap times was a bit slower but I think that’s more because I went from bumper view to VR and being in the driver seat changes the braking points but I quickly got use to it. I have not used flat screen since I just can’t bring myself to play unless I it’s VR
Yup, if you are used to a flat screen, hopping into VR will not just instantly make you faster. You need time to adjust and get used to it.

Im faster in VR, Depth perception helps with cornering, brake markers and car position as you cant have triple screen on PS5
Without PSVR2 I wouldn't play GT7 anymore.
I can't go back to flat.
I have over 600 hours in the game. 500 hours of this in VR.
I'm not sure I will buy GT8 without VR at all. Maybe in a sale.
I think I'll move to PCVR racing before I race flat.
Well, the good thing is if you move to PCVR, your PSVR2 headset should work on PC by then!

Guys do you think your faster with vr? I just can’t decide if I am. I’m gonna test tonight I’ll do 100 laps on vr and 100 on flat screen. But I’m use to flat screen so that has the advantage.
If you are used to a flat screen, you will be faster on a flat screen. You need time to adjust to the differences until you can run the same lap times or better in VR. For me, I can't run a decent time on a flat screen because I never do it, so I'm not adjusted to it.
This race, you are missing out on tuning your car, seriously, I think this is the first time in Group “A” you can not only change suspension but camber and torque and on and on. Experiment people. Not just traction control. Love race A and also B this week. And agree CAs, can’t and haven’t raced again in flat screen.
It's hard to tune car when you don't know what your doing. 😄
If they want you to use this stuff needs to be a lot cheaper then it is now

PSVR2 unfortunately for me mura effect on it makes it pretty much unusable so i mostly play on pc hardware.
I dont really notice Mura in GT7, more in RE games. it definitely effects some people more than others. One of my friends tried it and couldn't even see it when looking for it. But one thing its shown me if once I know its there I cant un see it, and its made me notice it on my Quest 3, very subtle though. You can look through it though and forget about it.
@@linzkirk i have 5 headsets and tried quest 3 as well and i never see it in any of them and noticed right away on psvr2 feels like i have a windshield that has been puked on… even tried lowering brightness to very low still see it..
I got over the dirty screen look quickly. Will take it over a clear flat screen any day.
@@Eskoxo Yea for sure its much more visible on PSVR2. But is you look at pure white on Quest 2 it is there, very subtle though
Returned my Psvr2 after trying it in GT7, I couldn't get over how terrible the image quality was (moire, chromatic aberration, blurry except the exact center). The immersion and sense of speed is better than a flat screen but it was like viewing a PS2 game. Not worth the asking price.
My initial impressions were the same but I quickly got over it's shortcomings and none of that really effects the enjoyment I get out if it compared to going to a flat screen.
