    Glad to see you joined the club, Chris. Im a Day 1 adopter. I had zero hesitation in pre-ordering, and havent been disappointed. 13 months later, and im still in love.
    Try the single player 800pp race at Spa. It rains, transitions from day to night ... the immersion u feel when blasting down pit straight in the rain, cars behind lighting the interior of your car, and the lighting of the grandstands. Just wow.
    I had three friends over to try it out. All 3 had reactions which were variations of 'whoa! WTF???" 😅

    So glad you got to try it.. no video can do it justice as you still only see a third of the view.. i have refused to go back to 2D since i had it its took a long time to get back my 2D pace. I can regularly hit the top 100 in daily times again now. Mistake i was making was using the lap guide exit markers people put up.. they are great guides and i still use them for brake markers and gearing but you can't use when x or y leave your screen. You have to use the field of view to your advantage and look round for the exit point and find the line as you would in real life balancing the gas to hit exit point rather than looking down at an inside dirty curb or a tree leaving your screen.
    Advantage of this is you are brain training to be looking in the right place where traffic is in races too rather than looking at things you wouldn't in reality.. i also found that rather than going past the limits to find them as in 2D you build up to them through fear of dying.. obvious draw backs are every car view feels different and can be s different side of the car so more adjusting to do compared to bumper cam and the worst draw back is they still haven't added more race info somehow so you know your timing to people in the race. Could easily be added to a extra click on the rotary hub as i guess they don't want to spoil the emersion on the main view.
    But even with thise draw backs its still so worth it, it can't be beaten hitting a corner perfect or side by side in VR. Enjoy mate 👍

    • @Doughtinator
      @Doughtinator  Před 2 měsíci +1

  • @cerealbrain3.0
    @cerealbrain3.0 Před 2 měsíci +2

    It's a great technology which is hobbled by Sony's inability to fix a handful of very simple issues, which could be easily addressed.
    Firstly, it's not possible to adjust the 'seat position' in VR and in some cars this makes the view extremely restricted and difficult.
    Additionally, you can't adjust the wing mirrors so it's hit or miss whether they're any use, depending on the car.
    Then there's the race data - why can't there be an option to have a pit board displayed when you cross the start/finish line?
    These are such simple and non-technical things but make a massive difference, especially in races.
    When it's good - the 60s Honda F1 car - the immersion is absolutely mind-blowing.
    Come on Sony & PD, sort this out!

      You can adjust your position by moving in the opposite direction that you want to adjust (so if you want to adjust up, slump down) and then press and hold start until the viewport resets. Then when you go back to your normal position physically your viewport will have shifted (in this case up)

    Ive had GT7 since release on PS4 with a cockpit and a g923. I played quite alot for like 6 months but then ive stop for a while. Last christmas, i bought a PS5 with PSVR2 and man i play this game everyday now its pretty fun, nothing beats that. I even upgraded my setup to a Logitech G Pro 2 weeks ago, im addicted now way more then when i first got the game.
    On a sidenote, cars interiors play a big role in VR for your vision around your car, some cars have better mirrors or screen for the back view, also the windshield and pillar are different from cars to cars. I dont really like the Mclaren interiors, i prefer the NSX or the AMG for this week, the C7 is also decent.

    I used to Race in A/S. Since PSVR2 released, I ONLY have raced in VR and while at first (combined with my pedals failing) it was tough to get myself up to speed with A lobbies; falling down as far as D lobbies thanks to rage quits and general learning curve but I've won many races now and I'm almost back to A but i don't think I'll ever get close to A+ again. They should VR leagues or races! I also find that I can really defend well and I can sense where other cars are as like real life.
