It is said that Napolean quickly became leader of Saint Helena and actually made it a successful island. Then got depressed because he didn't have anything else to do.
But he lived his life contently in exile.

Small confusion Island of Elbe, già First exilé. In saint Helena he was just a prisoner sadly …
This means that it was necessary to send him to some other island so that he could restore order there too. French HR managers of the 18th and 19th centuries are absolutely incompetent.

- Paris people are the worst
- I love Napoléon

There only one big problem with this video: *it ends*
Even in the failure of the day, his lasting impact on France’s economic and political system changed the nation for the better
Napoleon changed not just France, but entire world. His impact on all countries of Europe, on both military and political thoughts, as well as on further actions of European countries, was immeasurable.

Bro you got put in the 8pm National News in France
Let's be serious here Napoleon should not be remember for his military genius (don't get me wrong he was a really good military leader) but for his social reforms of France and his in pact on France society can not be underestimated
But he still was a totalitarian leader even if he did some good, living in those times wasn't very cool.

I saw you in TF1 (The frist french tv news) about your video on napoleon
As a person with a distant cousin who served in the Napoleonic Wars, I can confirm there is nothing we can do.
Napoleon lost at Waterloo because by that moment other European countries studied his military innovations and tactics and adapted them as well. So, it would have been better if Napoleon instead did not overestimate himself in his first rule and didn't try to bite more that he can chew (trying to conquer Russian Empire) - if he stopped at some point, he would have had all the chances to stay for long and implement his project of rebuilding Europe
He never tried to conquer Russian empire. It was Alexander who declared war on Napoleon and when Napoleon came with army Alexander just ran away like you know who. Napoleon started to chase the running Russian army to quickly beat it and make another peace. War of 1812 is manipulated by Russian and English propaganda.
Well at this time France was broke and tired after 8th coalition, all of this next to the french revolution
No horses, no veterans, no artillery, the great army was youngs and inexperimented boys (the Marie louises)
And even with that on all the 100 days you’re impressed
Napoléon didn't want to "bite more than he could chew", he was forced to attack the Russian Empire since it didn't respect the Continental blockade against England
@@malocuillandre1344 Just as many other countries. Problem with Continental Blockade was that it was very unprofitable and openly damaging for the economies of many countries who participated in it - Napoleon didn't come up with any plan how to compensate those losses. Considering that British trade wasn't damaged as much as it was expected, several countries, including Russian Empire, decided that the whole idea of Blockade isn't working, and abandoned it. Napoleon wasn't "forced to invade Russia" - he had two options: either negotiate with Russian Empire and find a way to sway Russia on his side (reimagine the principles of Blockade so it won't be so damaging, or find a way to compensate those losses to Russia in one or another form), or just try to directly invade Russian Empire to turn it into his direct vassal or client state. Napoleon has chosen the second variant - and that was exactly "biting more than you can chew".
@@thedreamscripter4002 Continental blockade was not unprofitable for Russia. There is a report by Russian minister of economics at that time that indicates that economy hardships that Russia had only because Alexander tripled the military expenditure. It also proves that Alexander was just looking for excuse to declare war on Napoleon while building up forces with British money. Our textbooks are all written by anti Napoleonic coalition.
