It is always amazing to me how the Ottoman empire basically had a huge rivalry with the Austrian Empire, and they both ended up dying at the hands of the allies in 1918, fighting on the same side
ummm, akkchually, the Ottoman empire ended in 1922
But yes it was WWI that destroyed them

Mehmed II landed troops and occupied the Italian city of Otranto. His aim was to capture the city of Rome and Italy. Mehmed II wanted to take over everything known as the Roman Empire.

Actually still underrated They also attacked enemy with dual Maces and although heavy armors they were too fast

Not Ottomans but only Mehmed the Conqueror
Walking their ships on the hills. Mehmed the Conqueror and Askeladd would be good friends.
Early Ottoman history is so cool, and Mehmed II himself is such a character. So glad I watched the series on Netflix about Mehmed, otherwise I wouldn't get any of this video.
As a Turk,I can easily say that yeah we carring ships in our free times.
If the Hungarian king had listened to Hunyadi in the battle of Varna, we would not have lost
He literally thought that he can attack the literal sultan by himself, and completely ignored that just maybe the sultan has a bunch of janissaries around him
That must be up there as one of the worst battle strategies in history
As a Hungarian, I now propose an alliance with our Romanian neighbors, so we can both keep asking how John Hunyadi was missed here
(Seriously though, good and fun video, but I really wish at least the Siege of Belgrade was included ☹️
With our powers combined scorpo is forced to do a 2 min skit on him.
Seriously, make it, I would definitely want to watch that
Yoo that's a good idea lol@@warmak4576
There is no winner in the siege of Belgrade. When Sultan Suleiman returns 50 years later, he destroys all of eastern and central Europe.
In the name of Hungarians, Serbs and Romanians, we demand a John Hunyadi skit!

I am turkish guy and thank you for the ottoman empire video
Quick info if anyone misunderstood: Historically, the Ottomans did not kill Skanderbeg nor managed to defeat him, Skanderbeg passed away from Malaria in 1468, Albania managed to still resist the Ottomans for another 11 years after that, but was annexed in 1479 after Venice, which had become "the defender of Albania" signed a treaty with the Ottomans granting them full control over Albania, this treaty convinced the garrison in Shkodra to finally let the Ottomans entry, marking the end of Albanian independence, though the city of Durrës in the Albanian coast remained as part of Venice until 1501.
Same could be said about Vlad seeing as his death is unconfirmed due to lack of evidence

Only thing that maybe should've been added was the ottoman landing at Otranto (look that up if you didn't, it's worth it).
Other than that, I really hope you cover Justinian or Basil 2., as there is a lot of potential!

As an Albanian, I can confirm that Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg was a CHAD 🗿
He was treacherous but badass. He's one of those villains that you can't but root for
It's normal for him to win. He was raised by the Turks. He was one of the closest friends of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror and knew all his strategies and battle tactics, even the order of his army. Moreover, chad is a great compliment for someone who fled when Mehmet the Conqueror came.
@@ebubureydefanpage ahahaa as if balkan nations did not know how to fight before you cucks 😂 and he did not raised by turks, he just served the army for some time. and gained intelligence indeed, he was a clever chad.

Everyone is calliphate ... untill they mess with that damn RUSKIII thing
And some decades later some Russian Bois came and 30 years of work of Ottomans burned to ground like it was nothing
In the early days, the Ottomans destroyed the Russians, but in the following years, the Ottomans became very weak and were defeated by the Russians. Please do not ignore the tremendous successes of the Ottomans against the Poles and the Russians when interpreting history.(Sokollu Mehmet Pasha annexed Poland to the Ottoman protectorate in 1575 and made it a state. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Ottomans defeated the Russians, went deep into Russia and even burned Moscow[1])

this is what happens when you know nothing about history
btw skanderbeg wasnt even strong he just used guerilla tactics that OTTOMAN GENERALS TAUGHT TO HIM
You are right
It was the Ottoman Empire that taught him all the skills, he knew everything about the Ottomans, especially since he was an elite Sipahi warrior
Fun Fact: Vlad Dracula and his brother, Radu, were captives of the Ottomans when they were kids. During this time, Mehmed II (who was not yet the Emperor, only a prince at this time) took a certain liking to both of the boys and tried to force himself upon them.
Vlad escaped Mehmeds attempt by being a baddass and shanking the pedo-prince. Radu, unfortunately, was not as lucky. And after years of being in Ottoman captivity and exposed to Ottoman propoganda, Stockholm syndrome set in hard for Radu and he became Mehmeds favorite pet Janissary/femboy.
I don't think it's overly surprising why Vlad the Impaler really, *REALLY* hated the Ottomans, and Mehmed II in particular.
This is a rumor written by a Greek writer who has no real historical source and dislikes both Vlad and Mehmed.
@nextcaesargaming5469 The reason why vlad hated both the ottomans and his father was because he and radu were sent as a tribute to the ottoman court to insure his father's loyalty to the ottoman empire
@@aliburakgunduz4040 A common Turkish copium
@@RjabAlageilyly ... which is the reason why Vlad and Radu were captives of the Ottomans in the first place.
