Here in Singapore, where humidity levels can easily reach 80%, dry cabinets are common and definitely essential for camera equipment.

@@wcsdiaries I do, but it's switched on and off subject to occupancy, out to work etc. Dry boxes are small and consume similar amounts of electricity to a light bulb.

I just learned about these a few days ago. I'm outside Houston, TX and my Pentax camera gear just survived Hurricane Harvey. I got it out before the water entered my house. Houston is a high humidity area and tends to be very dusty too. We run the A/C 24/7 but that doesn't stop the dust. Thanks for the review of the 80L. It may be too big for my space but I think the smaller 50L will be more suitable.

Pretty cool. Live in Sacramento so don't think humidity is much of an issue, but it's a nice piece to take care of your camera gear, none the less.

  • @bodkinsbestphotography

Grabbed mine today. B&H had $80 off regular price so I picked up the 50L.

You should get another humidity meter for an independent measurement to double check the humidity reading of the cabinet. I have read before that some of these things can be wildly inaccurate depending on the manufacturer.

Here in Miami, we have the A/C running 24/7 so humidity isn't a big issue but I appreciate these cabinets to keep my gear in a safe place.

The problem for me is I would need about 20 of those LOL! I have two systems CANON and FUJIFILM. I'm heavily invested with both. I ended up buying two big high-end guns safe. I'm more worried when leaving my house and my expensive gears just sitting around. So now I'm more relax and calm knowing all my gears are inside a bolted to the ground fire|waterproof heavy duty gun safe! Plus security cameras all around my house with a good home alarm system and some nosey neighbors that watch out for each other HAHA! 👍😉
