Thank you and Kevin for this interview.
Wonderful interview! I’m on my last G6 sensor presently and have my G7 sensors ready to start in a week or 2. I am super excited about the smaller size and improved accuracy is a huge plus! I have been very happy since finding Sugarmate. I see that the G7 app offers more options such as making notes. I will likely continue using Sugarmate because I like tracking my calories and other stats that Dexcom does not include but I am looking forward to seeing the improvement with the G7 app, also. 😊
I’ve got an App tour video of the G7 on the channel - check it out to learn more! As well as a review. Thanks for watching and enjoy the g7
dark mode, yes please
Oh, I’m into that!
What the heck? The CEO of Dexcom doesn't know about the startup window trick where you overlap the time with the previous sensor? That's a bit concerning...a pretty basic and significant feature of the new G7. Thanks for the great interview though!
My guess is he couldn’t say it, but knows that it’s possible. Not sure why though….
Fun to watch while I have one on my arm.
I don't have diabetes but I would like to know what my sugar is doing.
The first disappointing thing is that the app is not available in my country. I had to buy the reader.
The second disappointing thing is the first sensor actually malfunctioned, the needle did not pierce my skin and just bent.
Another is that the needle is currently embedded inside my muscle... I don't have a lot of fat on me and the needle is quite longer than I imagined and perpendicular.
And the last is that the alerts cannot be turned off... I got woken up one night and since then I am keeping the unit wrapped in tissue inside a box inside a drawer so that it does not wake me up unnecessarily.
Other than that I really like it. I bought separate patches so that I don't loose the sensor by accident and today I was pretty surprised it all survived continuous swimming in a pool for an hour. But then more alerts. I am not hipoglycemic!
Great interview.
Thank you!
The fact Kevin without thought said the DIY world is a "dilemma" is very sad. He should remember that the DIY world were the first adopters of CGM, and the pioneers of closed loop systems which is largely why Dexcom is a success now. The commercial UI of Dexcom and closed loop options do not offer the best options for diabetics period. We understand the FDA have their concerns, but I can guarantee that having alarms which cannot legally be silenced while driving (in many places) is a far bigger safety problem than most of the FDA restrictive requirements.
Thanks for the great G7.
Thanks for watching!
This was great
Wish they’d connect with Medtronic
I knowwww
When will the G7 connect with all android devices. Don't want to change phones just for the G7 app. Are there any work around s for the app. I'm type 2 and just starting to use the G7.
Thanks for the great videos.
Thanks for watching :) Look into Sugarmate! Let me know how that works out for you ;) What phone do you have that G7 wont work with?
@@diabe_tech
I have a Motorola phone.
@@paulpannell8544 I had that problem also but have the receive and use that.
Helpfull info
Can u get different over patches for the g7
How do I set up phone app
I wish it could connect with Tandem. For me, it’s useless. If I wanted a CGM that couldn’t communicate with my pump, I’d use the Freestyle Libre.
It will, eventually. Tandem and all other pump companies needed to wait for FDA G7 clearance before they could start on their FDA clearance to use it. It should be out soon. Btw, Freestyle Libre received clearance for closed loop systems, so those my be options soon as well to use with tandem or Omnipod and more.
It's ridiculous that Dexcom G7 expects everyone to own a new iPhone or Samsung. I have a Huawei p30 pro and requested compatibility months ago, but still not available. My husband's Nokia G21 is also not compatible. I borrowed an old iPhone 6S from my friend to use with G6, but now incompatible. Now I have six G7 that cannot be used!!!
There is a receiver device that can be used in the absence of a compatible smartphone. This is the way to mitigate the issue that you have faced.
@@delanodouglas6390 I had that problem also but have the receive and use that.
I am type 1 warrior and i dont use this devices i just checked my suger level on glucometer this device is very expensive in my country i want freestyle liber our this device but 😭😭😭😭😭😭
awww yea a cgm is very helpful. Hope you can get one soon!
I hate how expensive Dexcom is. It's robbery. Something that makes people's lives just a bit easier and a 3 month supply out of pocket is $1000.00. In todays economy....smh. Such a wonderful piece a lot of people could use.
I wish our healthcare system was better
