  • @ayaankhan2717

    I’d recommend either the Yamaha Pacifica 112V or the 112J. Both great guitars (and surprisingly versatile) but the 112V is a bit more expensive due to better tone and volume knobs and slightly better sounding pickups. It also has a coil tap option so you could get a single coil at the bridge. If you’re looking for a budget HSS strat you can’t go wrong with a Pacifica. (Plus they look cool which is probably the most important quality of a guitar to anybody.) Wouldn’t recommend the 012. It’s good for its price but it won’t last you a long time. The tuners aren’t great so there’s no point in using the tremolo arm. Plus the pickups are different and a bit worse.

    • @planlessdan
      @planlessdan Před 3 lety +7

      Pacificas in general are so good for their price point, I love them a lot! My old housemate had a 112V and I still miss that guitar, because having a solid guitar that felt fun to play and has coil taps is super good when you're still learning and figuring out what kinda sound you want! That said, even the 012 Pacificas are not to bad for a beginner. The pickups aren't special, but that humbucker gives you more kick than your standard three single coil strat, and it seemed pretty solidly built when I picked up my old one(originally meant to be a gift for someone but I got attached and had to tear myself away from it). The extra cash for the 112V or 112J is SUPER worth it as a small price difference goes a long way with budget guitars, but I doubt a beginner would feel like they've got a dodgy product or are missing out with the cheaper one, and the worst offences of those can be fixed real quick with a decent setup. Not sure I would trust a Bullet Squier the same way at all.

    • @jayden_2954
      @jayden_2954 Před 2 lety +2

      I just picked the 112v up and I’m currently learning using Justin guitar. Currently going through D and A chords and anchoring!

    • @kilgoretrout321
      @kilgoretrout321 Před 2 lety

      My bro's old Pacifica sounds like fire on my Vox amp. I thought it might sound weak like my old Squier, but the pickups still sound loud and great. The only issue is the switch and input jack go bad pretty quickly. Luckily theyre easy to replace and I learned how to solder pretty quickly just from CZcams. After that, I put a TusQ nut on it (just needed some wood glue) and it's pretty much perfect

    There are some decent acoustics around 200. I own a yamaha thats really great when paired with coated strings. The issue with acoustics is that easy playability is sacrificed on cheaper ones and for beginners thats necessary to have. All that to say I think you could still shoot for under 400 rather than getting a taylor. As long as you know what to check when you try it.

    I'd say just start with whatever guitar you can get your hands on. If there is a family member or friend that has a guitar they don't use, ask them to borrow it. Whenever you outgrow that guitar is a good time to buy your first guitar. The quality of your first guitar (unless it's a toy guitar) likely won't matter as much as your technique. As long as you can tune the guitar and it has all the strings, it's fine.

    important: amp is important too. the any guitar can sound funky or metal if you put it through a certain amp. some amps can do both

  • @MarkToast99
    @MarkToast99 Před 3 lety +1

    Also important, what kind of music do you want to build up to playing? If you wanna go classic rock, any kind of Gibson will do honestly. Fender will even do the trick, too, but may not sound as meaty with some types of guitars. If you want more twangy stuff, get a Fender. If you're looking to do metal and drop the tuning down to drop Z, get a long guitar. The longer it is, the better it will handle tuning low. Ibanez and Fender are good for this. Also get one with humbuckers if you're playing rocky stuff, and one with single coils if you're playing softer, jazzier, twangier, or Alabamaier stuff.

  • @truffeltroll6668
    @truffeltroll6668 Před 3 lety +5

    I'm not a beginner. But beginner guitars are usually nice for gig stuff

    I agree with most of them other than the gibson one, yes it's a fantastic guitar. But the headstock is heavier than the body, essentially that means if you let go of the guitar it falls on the headstock rather than not falling at all. And also if you play it you will have to use a bit of power to keep it steady and that can make it significantly harder to play with, it's a good guitar but for a beginner, it's just making it harder to learn.
