That shop and work is a sign of a perfectionist. Great job!! Your shop is spotless and wonderful.
That it one hell of a workshop though! Wouldn't mind that either..just imagine what one could build!!
OMG That is the coolest CNC mill, love the use for making the mortises! Genius!
If i ever hit the lotto, thats what a FESTOOL shop should look like! very impressive!
Stunning work, Theiss! A delight for the eyes! All the best, Rob in Switzerland
What a wonderful ideia, congratulations Theiss Hilmar.
Dust collection is pretty impressive!!
this is brilliant! love your take on the paulk workbench
Man your whole shop is incredible I can't wait to renovate mine.
BTW Theiss, just now see comments on video editing. Don't listen. I have watched all your vids now and they are perfect. You have mastered editing along with Wood and the sweet CNC. Keep um coming. Ji Oregon
Beautiful clean shop
Beautiful work! Thanks for uploading your work ! Have a great day
Great job!!! Nice sized and very well thought out.
Nice Workbench. Stylish and funtional.
Schöne Werkbank. Stilvoll und funtional
I like this. I don't have a cnc but it looks like it can be made without cnc simple enough. The over all idea is great, I'll just need to adjust a bit to fit my needs. Nice job!
Nice work on the workbench! Thanks for sharing it with us.😎👍JP
A beautiful piece of handcraft. Thank you for sharing.
Den Beech you mean machine craft. It was all done with a CNC machine.
@@1EliPrice dont be jealous
Slick design. I like the 'X' details.
Beautiful and functional. Nicely done, sir.
What a beautiful workshop. Very impressive. All those Festool devices and Wera hand tools. I'm getting there, but slowly. :)
The machine that made the machine. Super video!
I can't say that I've ever seen black MDF anywhere. That stuff is nice. I like that the color is all the way through.
Pete Brown . Its called Valchromat.
It's also banned most places because the sawdust can be harmful.
ah... feel so good when it is perfectly fit. neat and clean. the beauty of precision making.
Beautiful design and workmanship ............ you are very talented
Thanks Theiss, just subscribed to your channel and took the opportunity to check out the build of your CNC machine. WOW!!! Way out of my league. This is something which has interested me for a long time, the related costs however always manage to dampen my enthusiasm. Looking forward to checking out some of your "easier" stuff 😉
Awesome workshop, especially the tools.
Excellent, plain and simple.
Excellent Festool advertising, great!
At 10:11 he says a short prayer for his creation. LOL
Beautiful work!!! I watch you from Brazil ...
I don't see that style of dust shoe very often. I like it, keeps the shoe on the work piece at all times instead of lifting when the cutter moves up, which should make it more efficient. I'll have to remember this whenever I get my machine.
That design would make for a fantastic desk.
Theiss Hilmar:
I'd like to incorporate some of that design into my desk, but be able to use it as a desk when not using it as a work bench/station. Here's my idea (pretty long read, sorry!)
The desk I've made was from a solid core oak laminate door with galvanized steel corner posts and Steeltek fittings for the framing, but I'm honestly considering using a similar design to add an extra level under the desk to either (left and right) side of the center seating position, not unlike shelving, not unlike you've done here, but only with the top surface down the middle. However, instead of X's, rectangular openings cut into the framing, if that makes any sense, for the purpose of placing and removing items from the shelves, but also giving it a kind of semi-closed and clean-faced appearance.
Only, what I'd like to be able to do is have the top of the desk itself a flat surface, but able to have the left and right sides of the desk, but only the front halves of those sides, where the shelving is, capable of spinning on a centered hinge that will allow me to rotate the bottom surface (where the mounting holes would be) to the top facing position. I'd also like to have magnets embedded into the wood from the inside side, to where the visible surface on the outside is still wood, 1/8" or so from the surface. To where I can place tools and the like on the bottom of my desk and they will stay put when it's upside down. I'd have to be weary of HDD's or any electronics with storage capacity, however, coming into contact with these surfaces while in that position.
The idea is that I could use metal paper weights and the like to organize my papers, as well as tools, or anything metallic under my desk and simply flip it over to reveal the work surface when needed. This is all an idea I have for being able to have a decent sized work area that won't clutter my desk when I'm not using it, mainly because I don't have a shop to do my work in. But I could certainly do small file work, soldering, draw up plans, etc. and have it all nicely flipped away while I don't need it.
Honestly, I have an idea how I'd build this, but I don't think it would be nearly as well done as what you've done here. My engineering skills don't quite go that far. Though, I've never tried. But I'd love to draw up the plans for it and see if you'd like to build something like it, maybe work out the kinks and issues for me, so it'd be easier when I give it a shot? lol..
Here's my desk (on Google Drive) in its current form, and honestly, the Steeltek fittings from Lowes.com are /amazing/. They're listed as 1 1/4" inside diameter, but they are actual 1.66" ID. So they work perfectly with galvanized corner fence posts (1 1/4", actual 1.66" OD), and they have so many different types of fittings, you could literally build almost any kind of framing imaginable with them.

Thx for your feedback. I have several private hobby projects in the pipeline and no time to work on such a new project. Good luck Hilmar
That c&c table is fantastic
Nice, I love the cnc router and I notice all Festool....One day...maybe until then craigslist/pawnshop specials and my spare room in my apartment between classes haha I just wanna make stuff!. Oh and Nice work bench!
you got more money wrapped up in that shop than many a house i've lived in is worth...lol... festool loves you!
wow, very nice. I would love to see a tour of your shop
Great design.
Genius design!
nice workbench and looks good 2 :D
Awesome Project....
Very impressive
this is awesome !!! greetings from Poland !!!
Inspired by Ron Paulk. Just Ron Paulk. Nice video!
jetzt kapier ich endlich für was der zwischenboden bei solchen bänken sein soll. colles projekt weiter so!
let me tell you, your workshop set up is awesome
Wow , great job. And don't worry about the haters.
Ohhhhh man that would be so nice to have.
Theiss, you are killing us with this beautiful CNC machine. We ALL want one. Any chance exist that you could just move to Oregon and be my neighbor ? If you were here, I could probably convince my wife to let me build one. Man, you are such a great advocate for Fess Tool. We love all your videos. I have put the Screw Driver Holder in Sketchup and have just gotten the parts for it. I also ordered the entire set of WERA Drivers and Torx. Keep up the great work. You are making life worth living. //ji
Thanks for your support and feedback, I will be happy to see some pictures from your work.
Tell your wife, a CNC machine is a really nice hobby, and keep you away from doing some strange stuff ;-)
Theiss Hilmar Will do my best Theiss. JI
nice torsion box there fella!
Te felicito por tu gran trabajo eso ya es tecnología espacial :)
You have a very interesting dust shoe!
Thanks, here is how I build it: czcams.com/video/wKgUAoTuY9Q/video.html
Awesome!
Fantastic......
Great work bro
nice work bro...
Nice!
Excellent video for more than just the workbench build. You've inspired my next build for my wasteboard on my CNC. What are those stops that you have to hold it on the left and bottom of the board?
Nice job, well organised shop.
aaahhh... precision.... 😊
It's kind of like if you went back to when people used hand saws to cut everything and someone mad the drop saw people would say it's cheating it's just the tools getting easier and faster
Brilliant
router wood work
very very good, spain
Not Bad, not bad at all!
THANK YOU
This is not cheating rather more of a when $$$ is no problem.
Not a nice bench, but a great bench. With access, you could easily add t-track or a router table, etc.
With enough $ there is no limit to what I could make.
Инструментом, общая стоимость которого равняется цене новой Лады, можно и не такие чудеса творить!
It's soooooooo cool! but unfortunally I haven't a CNC machine :'S I love it!
Nice looking bench and with the best Domino machine I've ever seen. Incredibly neat workshop too.
Well filmed video but a detailed narration explaining what you're doing would be good and infinitely better than music.
I'm investigating how to start a woodworking business from home and discovered a great resource at Enata Wood System (google it if you are interested)
IMO, no narration needed. What he's doing is really obvious due to how he filmed it. Additionally, he's not from the US. I imagine that if he had, for example, a thick German accent, many here would complain about not being able to understand him. The music is fine.
seems heavy, especially with the 3/4" MDF that's been lightened.
Joe Malovic
It's 16mm, which is 0.004" thicker than 5/8, so it's lighter than you thought. I wonder if you could get away with 3/8 ply on the flat side if some supports were put in. Nah, probably add up to the same weight with supports.
İşçiık harika elinize sağlık
That is simply too sexy! I enjoyed how everything fit so precisely.
Very nice.
Very nice. how tall did you make the sides? They appear to be shorter than the Paulk specs. I like your height better.
Beautiful work! Thats why i need a CNC....
the Ron Paulk workbench is superior to the one, that was built in this video more practicality in general purpose use
Very interesting. It looks like those inserts in the holes are key - they appear to let the connecting bolts through, but accept a nut on one side in case you want to fasten the pieces together - can you supply details on whee to get those and maybe a close up picture showing one?
Start your search at eBay with "Rampa m6"

What is the CNC machine you are using? I see it's made by Festool. If you could provide a web link for more information, I would appreciate it. You're videos are really good. Keep posting...
The CNC is made by my own. czcams.com/video/3WWJODwU00c/video.html
Thats an amazing accomplishment Theiss!. Love the machine, and the table you built. Looks great with the contrasting black MDF and the lattice work. you should consider selling plans or the entire CNC you designed. All the best and thanks for sharing !!!
The CNC over on your side of the pond are interesting. How strong is the spindle?
ill take one ! lol
I woud kill for a CNC to make awesome customer stuff like this
Just curious where you got the black MDF? I'm in the states and have only seen the S@!T brown in building supply stores...or did you simply paint it?
There is a coloured mds called Valchromat or Umidax that looks like that. Maybe you can google that? Comes in a lot of colours.
that thing is beautiful, are you worried at all about the mdf falling apart, or is it special stuff, i noticed the black mdf is colored all the way through, does it help to keep it from peeling?
This workbench was made for a family who will use it around 4 times a year. The black MDF is not for a daly use in a wood shop.
NICE! That sheet material is HDF, no? I've been interested in finding some of that, but doesn't seem to be available in my area. Not keen on fiberboard in general, but it's price to properties ratio is pretty hard to ignore.
Yes it is black MDF. HDF=6mm Bauhaus in Germany has this black MDF.
There is a coloured MDF called "Valchromat" which you may be able to find or order. It is not cheap I think it is about five times the price of a standard sheet but it is much denser and machines well.
Fast zu schade für daran zu arbeiten. Top umgesetzt
Warum nur aus MDF ? Probestück ? Schöne cnc haste gebaut, Gantry auf angetriebene Muttern umbauen und ne China hochfrequenzspindel drauf dann machts so richtig spass !
Please stop making videos. You make me jealous with all those nice festool tools and that workshop. That looks great!!
video interrupted for giving thumbs up!
Wow I love this!!! What material is the black board? Medite MDF??

Chances are if you already have the tools to build this you don't need this. As I have seen mentioned in other comments the use of the CNC seems a lot like cheating and the complete lack of support in the center makes it prone to warping over time therefore not a good workbench for anything that needs to stay flat during glue ups or anything like that. Would be ok for some type of production work or small parts and stuff though I suppose.
what make is that table saw side slide or did it come with the saw in that case who makes the saw thank you for the vid!
It is a very old saw side slide from Kity, and the table saw is a Ulmia 1711
And I thought I was crafty when I built a box out of pine. All I can afford is a hammer, a Walmart circular saw and some rusty nails.
This is brilliant and has given me a great idea. I was just wondering what size dominoes did you use?
6mm Dominos
Theiss Hilmar thanks very much just need to find someone local who can cut the parts for me
To those that think the CNC is cheating : A. have never worked a CNC. B: Still think the earth is flat.
the earth isn't flat ? well i mean it's a parabala ,but still?
This shop is so clean you could performe open heart surgery in it👌
this is hobby wealthy kinda wood workers. shop,........the real ones don't stay that clean everyday!!
Well said xD
I need that dust shoe big time, I know you share files, do you have a video and any files for that?
Was sind ein das für schwarze Platten? Das Ergebnis sieht ja toll aus ... gut gemacht ... 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Sorry, I was not thinking of making the table, I want to make that CNC. Can you advise?
Hi, here is the link to the CNC:
czcams.com/video/3WWJODwU00c/video.html
There you will find some information.
I went to the link you posted awhile ago. Nice but lacking detail. Did you create a material list or a set of plans? I'm sure several of your followers, myself included, would pay for your experience and expertise by purchasing plans.
Hi Jeff, Thanks for your feedback. The DXF files and the material list is for free. You will find the information direct under the video (just klick on more).
Theiss Hilmar Thanks for your quick reply and generosity. I will look at the additional information.
Theiss Hilmar I'm sorry for the many emails and questions, but I went to the link you have posted showing the CNC build and could not find the DFX files or materials list. I did click on "More" as you suggested.
Hi Jeff, the additional DXF files and material list is only for the "THE WORKBENCH" video available.
For the CNC is no additional DXF file or material list available. You will find only some information in the comments.
Just wonderıng why you dıdnt glue the corners??.What I wouldn't gıve for a mıllıon dollar workshop.
Without glue on the corners it is easy to assemble the top workbench. The stability comes out of the sandwich construction.
Theiss Hilmar Yeah my question also and a good answer. No real need to over use the glue. What a great vid TH. I have just about seen them all now. You are amazing and make the CNC sing. //Ji
compliment for the make, but very expansive material and machines...
No glue on your miter joints? The corners need love, too.
Also, my friend. You don't have enough clamps. ;)
Not sure if that's why he did it, but glue would swell that MDF, especially on something thin like the corner point. There's also plenty of support above and below.
Glue would not make that mdf swell, been a cabinet maker for 13 years and have never had mdf mitres swell from glue
That's the problem with all woodworkers......One can never have enough clamps......Lol
