  • 2005-06 Cup Round 3 game and Nuneaton Borough of the Conference Northern Division host Premier League Middlesbrough. Being a good bet for an upset, there are almost as many members of the national media in the ground as there are supporters and they almost got their story. Middlesbrough took the lead in the 15th minute with a free kick by Gaizka Mendieta who I dare say has scored in a lot more salubrious surroundings than Manor Park and were looking good for a place in the R4. However just as in the previous game against Newcastle, Boro conceded a goal in the last minute. Gareth Southgate was judged to have handled the ball and Gez Murphy scored from the penalty spot to give The Other Boro a replay at The Riverside and the gentlemen of the press something to chew on but not as much as they'd anticipated.

Why, as a Boro fan (Nuneaton Borough) I cannot fawn over Southgate.

The money from the replay might not have paid for some new bogs but hopefully Nuneaton got some wet wipes and Mr Muscle out of it. Good riddance to Townsend, Santa was 1 month late with my present this year but he obviously read my letter

Good to hear from you Mr.R. I'm pretty sure Nuneaton Town went bust shortly after this game / season & now no longer exist in the same format. Indeed - AT will not be missed one bit on ITV football. Got a few more useless pundits to cull though before I'm completely satisfied. BBC can start with Jonathan Pearce. No molehill too small to make a mountain out of. On the plus side, I'm loving Jermaine Jenas as a pundit on MOTD. Very relaxed, confident and articulate young fellow with good insight and a good method of delivery.
