I dont understand why everyones freaking out thinking theyre doing a tony stark doctor doom. The russo brothers literally said before they revealed him that he’s playing VICTOR VON doom not tony stark doom. I think this is gonna be awesome and cant wait to see how this plays out.
They know it's not possible for them to just have the same face and a different character. Audience will feel confused, and even more so if no character addresses why he looks like Iron Man. They're definitely gonna have to work that in the story (maybe he got separated at birth etc.)

What a lot of these fans don't realise is that there were a couple of stories where Tony Stark/Iron Man becomes Doctor Doom in alternate universes. Now that Kang has seemingly been abandonned we are still left with a multiverse that has been blown wide open and Iron Doom already exists in the multiverse. This makes more sense than many understand. Imagine the Avengers having to face down their biggest threat and he has the face of their greatest fallen hero. This will be another Russo Brothers epic.

I heard RDJ originally auditioned for dr doom in the early 2000s and I think this version of doom is from the universe of the fantastic 4 movie that’s coming out and something happens to that world that transports him to the main MCU. I don’t think we will see his face as dr doom and it will covered like Vader in the original trilogy that way during secret wars , we would be able to separate him and Ironman if RDJ is playing both

I dont know why everyone says this makes no sense. Yes originaly Dr. Doom is a varient of Reid Richards (the smartest man alive). But Tony Stark is the smartest person we met in the MCU. Also there IS a Dr. Doom varient in the comics who is Tony Stark and it works well. So I think not just does this make sense, but it is the best move Marvel could have made to hype up people, diehard fans or casuals, and bring them back into the theaters. Whos Marvel Jesus now?

At first, I was also very confused, but then I thought it made sense. Before RDJ played Iron Man, he auditioned for the role of Doctor Doom at Fox, but later he was discovered by Marvel and went on to play Iron Man. I believe RDJ can indeed become a villain as compelling as Thanos and can thoroughly save Marvel. Of course, with the return of the previous writers and directors, what more can we say? Let's embark on this new journey together. In the end, new mask same task!!!!!!!!!

The last Marvel films were increasingly on the decline and were nowhere near as successful as the old ones. Marvel just didn't know what they were doing, bringing FDJ back as Doom is more of an attempt to make the films successful again

I’m so mad, they’ve screwed up Doom onscreen so many times and now the “definitive” movie adaptation is just gonna do it again. Iron man said a thing to Captain America; "if you mess with time it tends to mess back" in Endgame. I wanna think it has something to do with that. Or maybe the fact that like Red skull Von Dooms face is mostly scarred ends up not revealing anything might be the tool they are trying to use.
They could do this. They could really pull this off and do it well. They did the impossible by ending a movie like infinity war, none of us had any idea how they could top that, where could they go? And they did it in a creative, satisfying, and entertaining way with Endgame. RdJ is a great actor with amazing range. They give him a solid script and they could get this all back on track.
RDJ just did win best supporting actor Oscar award so this might work. It all depends on the story and the writing. I hope Marvel next iteration of the Avengers succeeds.

I hope they actually set it up as a "What If" Tony Stark variant. Like, take bits and pieces from his life and from Iron Man 1 and make everything go wrong, Pepper dies, he loses his company... so on and so forth.
I don't read much of the comics, but I do know Black Panther playing Starlord in What If is a possibility, so RDJ coming back as a totally different Character is the actor's choice to challenge.

I also don't like the idea of Doomed first major role being an alternate universe version. If we are going to have Doctor Doom it should be a character that is in the main universe or whatever universe the fasting four will be from and it should be a main stay. RDJ is a great actor but it's obvious that he's getting up there in age and is probably not going to be playing a hero or villain forever so this Doom is probably a 2 movie deal.

It's been the trend to hate everything MCU for some time now after Endgame/NoWayHome. Rightfully so in some cases. Most of the recent movies have been rushed messes to just ok. But man it seems like people just complain to complain now. In the end tony wins but goes on looking like doom and calls himself victor von doom If he is the villain the mcu all they need to do is instead of having tony win, victor kills tony(in dooms body) and goes on calling himself Dr Doom amd victor von doom but has access to all of tonys tech Been seeing many people question this casting and to me those people arent fans of comics but rather just mcu fans. as much as i LOVE rdj, i genuinely hope he’s not the main doom. he’s always been my top comic book villain, and i feel he has never been properly portrayed on screen. his romani heritage is also a huge factor in his character, along with his lack of face reveal
Its not just that. There are universes where Victor Von Doom has Tony Starks likeness so this is most likely a different universe Doom and not main universe Doom just like how Fantastic Four are a different universe Fantastic Doom.

I dont know why everyone says this makes no sense. Yes originaly Dr. Doom is a varient of Reid Richards (the smartest man alive). But Tony Stark is the smartest person we met in the MCU. Also there IS a Dr. Doom varient in the comics who is Tony Stark and it works well. So I think not just does this make sense, but it is the best move Marvel could have made to hype up people, diehard fans or casuals, and bring them back into the theaters. Whos Marvel Jesus now?

I think the actor has got to nail Dr. Dooms uniqueness. A hyper complex mystical technological genius on par with both Dr. Strange and Tony Stark who would save you or kill you on the same day. They could do this. They could really pull this off and do it well. They did the impossible by ending a movie like infinity war, none of us had any idea how they could top that, where could they go? And they did it in a creative, satisfying, and entertaining way with Endgame. RdJ is a great actor with amazing range. They give him a solid script and they could get this all back on track.

I hope they actually set it up as a "What If" Tony Stark variant. Like, take bits and pieces from his life and from Iron Man 1 and make everything go wrong, Pepper dies, he loses his company... so on and so forth.
I don't read much of the comics, but I do know Black Panther playing Starlord in What If is a possibility, so RDJ coming back as a totally different Character is the actor's choice to challenge.

I also don't like the idea of Doomed first major role being an alternate universe version. If we are going to have Doctor Doom it should be a character that is in the main universe or whatever universe the fasting four will be from and it should be a main stay. RDJ is a great actor but it's obvious that he's getting up there in age and is probably not going to be playing a hero or villain forever so this Doom is probably a 2 movie deal.

It's been the trend to hate everything MCU for some time now after Endgame/NoWayHome. Rightfully so in some cases. Most of the recent movies have been rushed messes to just ok. But man it seems like people just complain to complain now. Complaining after seeing one of their movies is one thing.... but complaining before their vision is fulfilled and you see the actual outcome is foolish. Those same people hating may likely turn around and praise this choice as soon it turns out to be a good casting/movie(s). Haters gotta hate I guess.

Its not just that. There are universes where Victor Von Doom has Tony Starks likeness so this is most likely a different universe Doom and not main universe Doom just like how Fantastic Four are a different universe Fantastic Doom.
