Do Tattoos Impact Your Income? A Look at the Evidence

Do tattoos affect your income? The studies are mixed, and there might be a big difference between visible tattoos and ones that can be covered. One University of Miami study found that tattoos don't depress your income at all.
But a similar Dutch study pointed out possible issues with visible tattoos. Surveys show companies still worry about visible tattoos, especially for employees that deal with customers, and that tattoos can lead employers to see you as less trustworthy and reliable.
And while companies have been slowly changing their policies on tattoos, corporations are still pretty conservative, and visible tattoos can definitely affect your employment and, therefore, your income.
Fortunately, these norms may be evolving. 40% of millennials have tattoos- not this guy- but there is a lot of change coming soon.
