18th century spit jack, stone fireplace, log cabin

- Cooking a pork butt in the stone fireplace at the cabin using a weight driven spit jack from the 18th century and from the land of D'artagnan the famous musketeer. Gascony. This spit jack would have been used at the richest of the rich homes or castles. I purchased it from Philippe in France and built the pieces I needed to get it useable. Come along as I share just a little of my story and put this old piece of history to work, as we bring 2023 to a close. With a strong message of family, and faith.

I'm thinking a couple of Tators on that spit would work too. Pork and drippings with sour kraut and tators baked close to the pork by running a scewer through it.. That's a great meal my friend.And cold beer in the ice box. What time is dinner again?😇😁😂

Happy New Year my friend. Yes, that is how close to off-grid that a person can get, and Yes again, truly royalty living. Shelter and food were the bare necessities for most, and yet, your surrounded with many comforts that a family would not ever have except in dreams or conversations with people of great wealth. It would have taken several generations to amass all of the items, and the cost would be far out of reach for even an "above average" family. I'm at peace watching your working kitchen, listening to you explain your work and your vision. Thank You!
