I feel like you hit the nail on the head. Not only was weeknd killing off his former look, but I feel like this is the point where he accepted the fact that he’s becoming one of the biggest pop stars ever. His music before this album was definitely different. Which I also love.

Would love to see more of The Weeknd and see how much you guys like his other stuff, but I would also love to see more of Daft Punk reactions. Not only did the robots play a big part in The Weekend’s career and having a strong friendship between them, but also every music they made are timeless masterpieces, like their other collaboration in “I Feel It Coming”, I would like to see you react to Daft Punk’s music :)

This song is inspired by two versions of The Weeknd actually putting influences from music into it the song title itself Starboy is kind of an inspiration from David Bowie and then the tone of the song the braggadocious lyrics is inspiration from 50 cent The Weeknd gave an interview where he talked about growing up and listening to 50 cent and how the tone of this song kind of came together he is also heavily influenced by Prince and Michael Jackson where if you really want to hear how close he can be to Michael Jackson he did a cover dirty Diana off his first mix tapes that will be a later repackaged into three albums together called trilogy. So the part where he says look what you've done I'm a Starboy is a call out to his fans more or less saying look you turn me into a star and his fanbase is known as XO . I've been a fan of his since 2011 I seen him in concert August 11th of last year in Atlanta Georgia at the Mercedes-Benz stadium it was the best concert I've ever been to he's incredible live as far as stuff that you would like to react to next most definitely the cover of dirty Diana and from that era of his career the morning wicked games the his first studio debut album kiss Land from that album pretty and then from beauty behind the madness can't feel my face the hills in the night and then really you have to react to the whole composition of after hours and dawn FM xo Intel we od

You don’t have to react (it would be amazing if you would!) but you should watch Evolution of a Toxic Lover. It breaks down his beginnings, his career progression, the long story he’s been telling through his art. It’s a great way to catch up on him as a whole which makes you understand him and his music better. Either way, love this song, and I hope you do more!! đŸ–€
Oh also, in that he talks about how he was thinking about cutting his hair and when he said that everyone was like “no that’s your thing you can’t cut it!” And he was like oh I’m definitely cutting it now lol

The symbolism with his “religious lightsaber “ is that he’s a religious person, but who he is deep inside and the life he has chosen for himself takes him away from religious foundation and makes him both doubt his faith while also making him fall deeper into it since he doesn’t feel worthy. At least that’s what I took from it as a fellow black man that isn’t really religious but who has been surrounded by religion for his entire life
 đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž. Just my take though
