This is exactly what Robotics should be, for a better and safer world.
Well said!
Please boston dynamics fix this comment!!!
Still can't get rid of the radiation at Chernobyl.
@@eigelgregossweisse9563 can you get rid of all the people who die in coal mines every year ?
indeed! check out the film "code 8: part 2" it's about how better the future can be with robotics like these!
- What's your job?
- Spot operator.
This has so many possibilities, really nice to see how much Spot advanced along the years.
I'm really happy that I can say that this is actually my job. We don't use our Spot for dangerous missions, but we show people how these robots can be used in real life and we also entertain young enthusiasts with help of Spot, so they'll become more interested in this industry and maybe one day will make useful robots and other tech gadgets, that will be as helpful as Spot can be now.
What a world we live in.
As someone who works at BD on the SPOT team, I am so proud of the entire BD team and how far they have come over the years! The innovation and cutting edge tech that I am blessed to work with on the daily is just incredible. Congrats BD 🎉!!
@@chickenadobo1105 what do you do there? Are you looking for electrical/control engineers?
@@xxxy912 Hello! I am currently a member of the Field Integration Engineering Team for SPOT, I highly recommend checking out the Boston Dynamics main web page in the career section for job opportunities, BD as a whole is usually hiring across many different facets of the company. Best of Luck!
Cool toy for gta
0:27 I love how when it's scanning the backpack it's just going like ":0"
mfw suspicious package
He’s like wow that’s a lot of weed 😲
Looks like it's hissing lol
probably some sort of scanner or camera in the middle of that claw.
"Wow, what an amazing backpack!"
Future is now, old man.
Old men are the future.
xD@@shakeithigh
The end of the beginning.
Old man here
If you want a picture of the future, imagine a tiny feet of Spot stamping on a human face- forever.
OK Dewey
0:31 Whatever is in that barrel was absolutely jaw-dropping for the poor-robodawg 😭😭
Who's a good boy?
Cookie first. Then we'll discuss my behavior.
No cookie? Now that's a problem.
Spot needs a tail so he can wag it when we praise or pet him.
@@FrankWhite-uc6gt haha wow that would be something
0:45 they done got Spot placing Valk cams💀💀💀
That's what I thought. BD makes R6 ops and devices look actually kinda realistic, at least believable.
"de-escalation of tense and or dangerous situations" So this is the first robot hostage negotiator...detroit become human here we come.
Mr. Handy by Boston Dynamics can't wait to see it.
How many out there don't get the reference? 😂
@@peecee1384 I hate that I instantly knew what it was
"Beats doing housework!'
Thank you for your innovations that help keep all of us safe!
What we need is a model with a second arm in order to do things like pull open the zip on the backpack.
i thought the same
That would be great
the machine would probably need to be made larger for that, and Spot's whole gimmick is that it's compact and quick to deploy.
Use two Spots?
Or another gripper could be added, such as a static gripper mounted on the main body (so it won't be attached to an arm) so that spot can carry more things/have more leverage.
Please add a flame thrower and ninja throwing stars. Thank you.
nice idea so we can clean up mosquitoes and teach japenese culture to the congo population
also they should make it run on some sort of fuel instead of electricity
Bladewolf metal gear irl?!?!?!?!? 😱😱😱😱😱
Oh....they will. You don't have to ask.
Well someone else made a flame thrower robot dog. Now all we need is the ninja stars
I was hit by a car when I was 4-month-old now I'm 40 and a tool like this would be so helpful in day-to-day life. But everything that are Healthcare is twice the price for people that really needs vehicles, equipment, medical stuff.
*throws stick* GO FETCH
Dog: Brings a whole air plane
Love the music track to this! Props to whoever made it
This is what makes the world go 'round. I've got it on mute.
Reminds me a little of James Horner in the '80s. Sneakers comes to mind.
whistle
Sounds like the Risk of Rain soundtrack
Spots gone full commercial now! You know what that means???
Full humanoid robots like Atlas is next!
It also means 2nd hand Spots in a few years time.
@@cwcorella.LMAOO are you kidding me? you are right, there is no real competitor for Atlas at all😎Atlas blows all those other bots clear out of the water
What other bot do you know can perform a flawless corkscrew backflip? Asimo has had fully articulated hands since the early 2000's, while Boston Dynamics robots are fully employed in the field right now as we speak.
@@GreenJimll Id like a Spot for each foot . Walk about in style .
About that...
OH BOY, DO I HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL YOU
This is why We LOVE Spot 😀
He seems like the goodest boy ever made
For the safety of the public, keep it up, Mr. Huang.
This would be such a cool thing to be common place in our world today!
When i finish basic training i want to become an EOD-Difuser. I really hope i get to work with one of your robots later on :)
Good job spot
what a good boy
saving lives
I think...
Might want to slow the clips down a bit. This isn't a music video, and it gives time for people to parse what the robot is doing.
Think you get the idea, no? It's not a demo.
Yes this kind of 2-second-clip video production is everywhere these says, its ridiculous (even in music videos)
Good sales pitch 👏
"De-escalation" with a robot is just a more PR friendly way to say "neutralize threats". Can you imagine a scenario where seeing a creepy robot calms people down?!
Bro this is a doggy
Cute
Spot is taking the job of those small rc on track 🙀
FOR YOU SAFETY. FOR YOU SAFETY. FOR YOU SAFETY.
SUPER !
How resistant is it to radiation and electronic jamming?
Fire fighting autonomous robots is such a great idea as you can geofence them to the incident location and it is pretty easy to train them on what to target as with both thermal and optical sensors they can easily recognise fire and attack it with extinguishers at best humans only need to coordinate them from the outside.
yes!!!!
He's such a good boy
Beautiful. Atlas missing. Won't he have stage fright?
The videofeed on the controller looks choppy? 🤔
For faster feed streaming. Cost-friendly and does its job.
I LOVE SPOT
Keep Summer safe !
I got that reference! ☝🏽 🦠
It's all flashy fun until the powers that be decide that _you're_ what people need protection from.
Spots check
When can I ride one to work?
Way to go Spot.
how long does the battery last?
I think I heard somewhere the average runtime is 90 mins, pretty sure they're working on it tho.
Epic❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How much does it cost?
$75k or more (depending on extra modules)
Bro i saw this thing in that cyberpunk game 😱
Why the camera is so laggy?
nice
I for one welcome our robotic dog overlords 😂
THEYRE IN DC !!! 🙏
კაი გასართობია
0:05 made me laugh for some reason. It looks completely overwhelmed.
If you can keep people safe, you can also harm them
There are always two sides to everything but this robot has been designed to replace humans in life threatening situations & also for use in industrial applications to spot problems before they become critical.
Sadly humans will always find a violent way to use pretty much anything if it suits their cause, thus the hideous mess on our planet since for ever.
The human animal is a destroyer of anything & everything it sees as standing in the way of anything it desires regardless of cost to its own species or others it chooses to abuse for food etc.
Music like The Son of Flynn from "TRON: Legacy".
It does sound like that
so, is it just me, or would it be interesting to see a parody of the IT Crowds final episode of the b- disposal robot using spot?
You'll enjoy
Bigdog beta early quadruped robot testing.
Now imagine if Spot could walk underwater.
Why not doggy paddle instead?
So has anyone figured out how to deploy a Spot out of something that can drop off aircraft hard points? Or maybe some packaging that could be rolled out the back of a truck? The initial stages of deployment being show in this video still seem a little awkward given the types of missions being suggested.
bostondynamics, bringing us closer to hell… now you can combine your robot with ai and you have doomsday
Wow, what an original comment.
I wonder how Atlas and Spot can work together to better their efficiency in the field.
Of course, the efficacy of having a humanoid robot in the field is a different question, but I would wager that any space meant for humans can benefit from having a humanoid robot.
I dont know how this video has only 30k views.
How strong is the """claw"""?
probably decently strong to grip heavy things
Roll over spot, roll over boyee. Good boyee!
"Dead or Alive, You're Coming With Me"
I may be too focused on fire extinguisher part, but if i were to say anything about such usage, i really think not. Yeah sure you're not risking any lives by sending a robot, but it can't really reach places faster than a regular firefighter would, and in case that the flame creeps up on it, your average electronics are very much not heat resistant. Also, speed at which you have to react pointing a nozzle at sudden flares.
In the end, it's just easier to flood everything with water than use not yet extremely reliable drones
Send it TO THE MOON!
Tesla Optimus 😍😍
At 1:11 I thought BD had made a horse-sized Spot. 😂
but how many rontgen can it withstand?
Search on _'spot fukushima'._ It's already in use.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Knock knock
who's there?
the future. put your hands where I can see them
good boy spot
And it can dance 💃
In other words,...good dog
인공지능이 장착된 스팟이 파괴될 위기에서 자신이 부활될 것을 믿게 해줘야 위험한 작업을 수행할 것임. . . 믿어라, 그러면 영생할 것이로다. . .. . .
No, current AI does not possess self-awareness. It does not take into account if it will be destroyed in the future, as its purpose is to fulfill the request of the user, not do anything else. As I understand it, this IS in fact detrimental to creating a human-like AI, but without drastic modifications to how we create them today it will continue to just be a mirror, reflecting the input it receives in the form of an output.
I’m not sure police would use a 100k robot to possibly get blown up
Many already do, and those bots aren't as useful as this. That said, I expect this is out of the budget range for anything but a metropolis.
How much does a human life cost?
"Send in the dog"
2 smaller arms on that thing would be broken and terrifying asf.
With a companion/deployable mini drone to give it better vision 😳
No matter how good intentioned someone is when they create gunpowder, even if they just want it to be used for digging, people will always twist it for something horrible.
The arms mouth looks like one of them Graboids from Tremors.
Cyber dogs could be used for reforestation in region where already erosion and ground problems around planet. For example could be used for Mexico country and creating sanitation system in it by using robots, like experiment for creating benefits by robots for planet ❤
Have found that in US as in world also exist many places out of usual sanitation system , no water. And if robots will be trained to in US , Mexico, Africa to change things, it will be much more beneficial for all companies if robots will help to create nessesary things.
I like firefighter Spots paintjob. BUT, that thing needs more hazard stripes. You can never go wrong with hazard stripes.
That’s OPG’s Spot (Ontario Power Generation), that’s why he’s got custom colours
imaging you are being held hostage and they send the dog to save you
Okay now, hear me out - how's your recoil control?
In the not too distance future, we have the ability to disarm psycho humans in NY subway with robots on the spot without human supervision.
How it will be used depends on the master.
I'll become the beastmaster, hell yeah!
They should make a scorpion.
Boeing should get a couple of these to make sure all the bolts are tight
Underrated comment 😂
how can i make "spot"???just like that!!!!!!!!
Need two hands and a torso
We need more speed please! Robots are still to slow!
Danger Doggy
if these end up for public purchase....it will be absolute chaos..
yeah I have bad news, these have been public for years now, theyre just really expensive
camera kinda bad but the rest is cool
В вилео написано про работу по безопасности и сохранению жизни, но реально в видео нет ничего такого.
As long as it's not running Vista.
Bro ate
I like how the controller looks like an big playstation vita
I'm an old man. To think, in my lifetime, we've gone from robots being nothing but men in costumes in movies, to Spot. What hath God wrought?
God hath wrought a bot, which we long have sought.
Decades from now there will actually be science labs as advanced as Black mesa
And there will be poeple studying worm holes and seeing if we can actually contruct teleporters
And the thought of that is wild
I’m a handicapped person. They should make this so a person could ride it. It could jump up into the back of an SUV like a dog and jump back out. It could break the great anti-handicapped frontier, steps.
We use these in place of humans because we value human life more than machines. How long until AGI has rights and this is no longer the case? How long until humans are considered the more disposable of the two because we are not as intelligent as AGI? Questions to ponder..
agi will never have rights, it's not like a fucking llm will suddenly become concious😂😂😂😂
