      My band. And they were great far beyond 97, that’s just music media hype. Best band since the Beatles.

    You should stick with more of these guys. They have so many hits that never made it across the pond ( Bar Wonderwall which is average at best ). Their B-Sides are better than their A-Sides a lot of the time.

    • @artspooner
      @artspooner Před 2 měsíci

      I disagree, Wonderwall is a great song, but it's just too overplayed and it is mid-tier in the Oasis back catalogue (maybe that's what you meant?).

    Oasis were massive in the '90s and continue to enjoy popularity today. The band centered around two brothers, Noel Gallagher, the primary songwriter, and his brother Liam Gallagher, the lead singer. They held a concert at Knebworth in 1996 where over 2.5 million people applied for tickets. I highly recommend checking out the performance of "Slide Away" from that show.

    I thankfully had the pleasure of seeing them in Perth Australia in around 2008 I think it was and the brothers must have been getting along cos the show was one of the best I’ve seen. Sadly will probably never see them as a group again.

    Oasis probably one of the most interesting bands ever 2 brothers who despise and also love each other, and also Liam Gallagher (the singer) is probably one of the most unique characters in all of music I’d recommend this video czcams.com/video/vabhO6NH_AQ/video.htmlsi=7aWjhaMfvXN_epCX

    If you want some U.K. funk, then check out early Jamiroquai who fused funk, jazz, soul and hip hop into their sound. Bassist was a groove machine and only a teenager when the band formed.

    Oasis lyrics always have a bit of a snarl to them, Liam has tried to carry it into his other works with Beady Eye & his latest work with John Squire (formally of the stone roses & seahorses); but it doesn’t work and he looks and sounds ridiculous.
    Oasis were a great band for the time & they moved with the times for a long while; similar to Pearl Jam in the USA; their early stuff was heavy and grungy and later on they displayed much more lyricism & song writing ability rather than just raw energy.
    I feel like Noel Gallagher was definitely the brain behind Oasis. Liam was a great frontman, Bone Head was a great general musician; Oasis just worked well together.
    Should check out Acquiesce, Cigarettes & Alcohol, and Don’t Look Back in Anger.
    Should check out the band “James” too, they are criminally underrated.
