BG Music:
The album 'Definitely Maybe' is an absolute classic. Every track is a banger.
The first 2 albums and the last album are as good as music ever got or ever will be. Lots of songs on the albums between those are all-timers. Lex and Brad need to spend a few months going on long drives, windows down volume, up, listening to Oasis and nothing else.
Unfortunately, every other album they released was utter dog shit. And this is coming from someone who WAS a fan and spent HUNDREDS of pounds seeing them live several times and they just got worse, and worse and worse.
@@paulsmith2516 personally I absolutely love their first 3 albums. I like a bunch of songs from their other albums but not the entire albums like the first 3
@@paulsmith2516 There were iconic songs on each of the albums after the first 2. Importance of Being Idle is an excellent album start to finish. There are at least 3 excellent songs on Be Here Now. I'll put together my list of 30-35 Oasis songs that are as good as anything anyone ever did, or will.
@@paulsmith2516 Ouch. Pretty harsh, but you are welcome to your opinion. I personally loved the first 6 albums they did. I'm not sure why Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants. Heathen Chemistry and Don't Believe The Truth get a bad rap. There are plenty of hits on all three albums.
Oasis had one Hell of a run. I love Liam's voice.
Liam has established a solid solo career over the last several years. Definitely worth checking his recent material out if you haven't already. It's very good.
Liam & Noel are acclaimed solo performers
Oasis are just so dope and their music holds up well
Saw them in Seattle on first U.S. tour. They blew the doors off the club. Great show, completely unexpected as I had never heard of them and a friend took me. Thankfully.
for a moment I thought you were crazy saying they blew the Doors off the club...
Lex: You know what this reminds me of?
Brad: I don't know...
Everyone: The Beatles?
Lex: black olives.
They were always associated with beatles and the jam style of music.
Wtf is black olives? Lol
I think my favorite Oasis song is "Some Might Say." One of those songs that gets better with volume. A filthy swing with an absolutely, swirlingly psychedelic chorus.
You are correct, that is their best song
First song I ever had
you're right in your assessment
Bonehead , the rhythm guitarist, had tonsil Cancer but has just being declared cancer-free.
Always good to hear good news.
Thatâs good news, I didnât know he had a problem
Thatâs great news đ
Yeah, still very weak so wonât be making an appearance on stage with Liam anytime soon đąâ€
Go bonehead...
1994 this tune come out guys and still sounds amazing. My favourite band really enjoyed this reaction guys
For whatever reason this song takes a few listens, but you end up loving it. This song live at Earls Court 1995 is THE Oasis live performance!
i loved it on the first listen haha
First time I heard it was when CZcams auto played their live TV debut 10+ years ago⊠loved them ever since
Lex is getting it. Oasis is all about "You can do it just go for it. Be yourself and don't worry about what anyone else things. You can be on top of the World."
Oasis are the 90s to most of us who grew up during the decade , a massive part of the soundtrack of my life , my fave song is slide away, got to check it out guys
Slide Away all day!!!! Yes!!
I used to hate Oasis for their attitude but have to admit that their first two albums are the best 1-2 in rock history . Every song is excellent on Definitely Maybe ,Morning Glory ,Masterplan ...that's around 40 songs of sheer artistry and craft.. Liam's voice and Noel's songwriting were untouchable during that period. This ong kicked off their careers.
They may be good even briilant but the best one two punch no way. Try Black7 Sabbath's first two albums . changed music history.
Me too, man, couldn"t stand Liam strutting around like he was the best thing since "sliced bread"! But heard "Heathen Chemistry" and loved it(the only LP i do!)
@@seanslaughter5483 LOL no!
Be here now also kicks ass
@@kevdoe3360 lmao heathen chemistry is their worst album
A Beatlesque vibe, âYellow submarineâ. All I know, is that when this song came on in pubs in UK, people loved it. Loved your reaction Lex.
My favourite Oasis song ! .. Like you, Brad, I have little to no idea what the lyrics are about, but the music is just wonderful .. And Liam's vocals are perfect for this .. Love Lex's "black olives" analogy too .. It certainly hits you with it's edgy, pungent vibe !
You need to watch some live tracks too understand how important this band are to us..... especially this song live!
Agree!
Lifted the roof of Earls Court with this song and their cover of I am The Walrus.
The music well at the Oasis is deep! So many great songs in a short amount of time.
This song still sounds as great today as when it was first released.
Debut single Liam only 19 20 when he recorded this song, and was the mantra for a generation!! Brilliant song great live too!! Love it!! Great opening lyrics for a debut single!! " You need to be yourself you can't be no one else"!! Wise words
The Beatles of the '90s, '00s. đ
You see the look Liam gives you? You can love us or hate us be here we are! They own the universe.
Noel Gallagher (guitar/ vocals) of Oasis is a huge Beatles fan, and "I am the Walrus" is a fave of his... a song w/ random nonsense lyrics written by John Lennon. In 1993, he just came up w/ the riff to 'Supersonic' and then wrote a bunch of random nonsense lyrics to it cos he was "feeling supersonic"... "give me gin & tonic"... etc. etc. And it became a huge single in the UK in 1994... With Oasis singles on the UK charts, their debut album 'Definitely maybe' became the fastest-selling debut album in the UK (since The Beatles).
As a child Liam Gallagher played the recorder, guitar and violin. He says his favourite âheartbreak songâ is Lou Reedâs âPerfect Dayâ. Asked about the top ten things he hated he said: âMan United. I hate Man United 10 times.â Heâs said that the reason he sings with his arms behind his back is because it allows him to project more power through his voice. The first Liam track Oasis recorded was âLittle Jamesâ which appeared on âStanding On The Shoulders Of Giantsâ. Mark Coyle who produced the majority of âDefinitely Maybeâ played 12 string guitar on the song.
@@carlmarks8170 I thought Liam said he got into music at 16... Noel said he never showed any musical interest when they were kids, and he was shocked when he heard that Liam had his own band (Oasis) at age 18... Whatever beef he has w/ Man United (we all know he's a Man City fan), he still had Man United's former star Eric Cantona on his music video for 'Once'.
U can see live videos of Oasis in 1994, and Liam didn't have that signature stance he has now (he was still learning to perform, I believe)... He did say in interviews that he felt natural on the mic w/ that stance cos his voice came out stronger, but it took a while to figure that out.
This period in British (Manchester) music history is staggering. The mid 80s to mid 90s decade was off the charts: Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, Northside, Stone Roses, New Order, Charlatans, Morrissey, the Fall, James, and of course Oasis.
Lex is absolutely right, Oasis was one of the first and only bands to truly embodied the F-off attitude. They have NEVER compromised.
I love this band. The first 3 albums are incredible and hold a special place in my heart.
Heavily agree, I like all their stuff pretty much, but those 3 albums are amazing
I agree. The first 3 albums are all great.... but then they kind of crashed afterwards.
It was also back from the era, where different kind of music still got a chance on the radio... Now you really need to be lucky to find something different... and if you do it is because they air it at times where people watch TV or sleep.
@@Rebslager true they never made another great album again but I still love about 5 or 6 songs each from every album they ever made after their peek in the 90s.
@@MrOasis316 I think I like 2-3 songs on the other albums... not like the first 3 where all songs were good.
@@Rebslager agreed
Oh, now you've gone and done it. Now you've gotten in to 90's britpop. This is my youth! Love Oasis!
One of the best songs you had on in recent times. đ
Lex knows what's going on. Brad is lost.
Lex.....you just GET IT!!!!
What a song. What a band. What a run they had âŁïž
In the 1990s.
In USA they have Nirvana, but in U.K they have Oasis.
1990s was a kick-ass era for rock!
Oasis werenât even rock. Was all fake
@@shaebryant1916 Listen Acquisence, My big mouth, Cigratress and Alcohol, Champagne supernova, then you will know its rock or not... They have their own distinct sound feel with some british heavy and noisy distorted sound bro..
Most genres were good in the 90s.
Hip Hop, Rock, House, Jungle, Indie, Soul. Great time to be alive!
@@shaebryant1916 what was exactly fake? It's only fake if you believe in rock stars and put celebrities on pedestals. Don't.
@@Ryan-vg4wn itâs fake because they acted up to the cameras. Would only start on people if there were cameras around. Did stuff like smashing up hotel rooms just because the who had done it. Fake image if that makes it easier for you.
U are now witnessing teh GREATEST BAND from the last 30 years hands down
"Dont Go Away", " Live Forever", and "All Around the World" are all excellent songs by them as well
Another Classic OASIS đźđȘ Song. 1st 2 Albums by OASIS ARE Masterpiece Albums. Every song is amazing and lots their later siongs too
Young man from an old 55 yr old Brit...have to say done alright for yourself there with your high energy lovely lady...Interesting watching you reaction to 90's Bit pop
The best Rock Band of the 90's
When they were on "Top of The Pops" to perform " Roll with it ".
The show had them miming over a prerecorded track. So when they came on stage, Noel stepped up to the mic and Liam picked up the guitar!
There was a performance on TOTP by The Cure where Simon and Robert swapped bass and guitar and detuned the strings so much they looked like spaghetti. I think a lot of bands resented the miming.
@@zoeherriot best Pi$$ take on TOTP was nirvana - smells like team spirit
@@MrBillyboyroge You're right - I forgot about that one!
@@zoeherriot yeah as usual with oasis, nothing original.
I've always liked these guys.†This was like one of their firsts I think.
Lex and I are absolutely on the same wavelength when it comes to black olives
Best band of the 90,s đđ»đŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó ż
Def Maybe was the album that marks the quintessential swagger of Oasis, itâs an album about wanting to be rock stars, the follow up album was about being rock stars⊠these albums were the sound of the nineties in the UK.
I remember rushing out to buy Definitely Maybe in 1994. And Supersonic is one of my favourite tracks on it. But all the tracks are superb.
I saw this singer perform solo a few years ago along with Richard Ashcroft from The Verve. Ashcroft was really cool and hung out talking to people after his set. However this guy, Liam Gallagher, finished his set and just walked off the stage. Didn't even thank us for coming.
Class , Liam's a legend đ

Slide Away and Round Are Way are my top two. Round Are Way is pure northern poetry!
I need to be myself, can't be no one else! Ain't that the truth, we'd all be happier if we were just ourselves!

4:45. Just listen to those dual guitars play off each other. Lex gets it
Haven't seen you guys do much 90 stuff and there is a ton of it but watching Lex on this one made this pop into my head, I have a feeling you would really dig the intensity of heroin Girl by everclear. It's some pretty dark subject matter but it's just a blistering banger. It's a great one to learn your barre chords on for the guitar because they're sliding these cords all over the place. It took me a bit to learn it but once I did it's a feeling of absolute joy to just let it rip and play it.
Oofftt! This takes me back to my late teens/early 20âs! (Iâm old lol!) Supersonic and Whatever were the 2 tracks that made me fall in love with oasis back in the day!
Iâve got a ton of stories from this time in the UK around Manny and up in Scotland! At last count I had seen them live 14 times ha ha - with varying results!
I was there the night Oasis got signed by Creation in a dark sweaty Glaswegian pub, then another night when they came on stage in the infamous âBarrowlandsâ, played 2 songs, Liam and Noel fell out and Noel had to do the whole set without Liam because he refused to come back on stage! Then lots of amazing outdoor shows, Loch Lomond, Irvine Beach, Knebworth, Glastonbury, T in the Park!
Iâm getting to relive it now though as my 15 year old is a huge Oasis fan!
Great reaction as always guys!
Edit to add: most of the time with Early oasis music, the lyrics arenât very deep, it was defiantly more of a âfeelingâ rather than a lyrical experience - lots of lyrics were influenced by various substances the guys were âpartakingâ in at the time and tended to reflect this, along with working class life in the city, women, friends, going out, having a good time etc! Lol!
Thank you for sharing this with me đ
Forever my favorite song of all time... Oasis really were something else.
The lady knows quality
Seen these 5 times
My altime best
Love Liam's vocals
bit of beautiful drum + bass đ
The bands first 2 albums are some of the best of the 90s, so musically... yay!! Noel was not shy in paying homage to his heroes and Oasis songs are littered with references to the music of the 60's but that made me like the music even more. But personality wise, I believe that they had the sense of a group of untamed Muppets...
just pure rock and roll.
makes me yern for the past and better days miss my youth....
I new oasis 1 year ago and I know like 25 songs and supersonic was my first oasis song ever and a short one is songbird oh and React to the master plan or slide away please choose one of them and supersonic is my favourite song ever and this is my first time watching you guys and listen to The Beatles bye đ bro
Admit it Brad&Lex they were and probably still are, untouchable.
It's a masterclass in wanting to be the best, coolest and noisiest band going.
They nailed itđđœ
I see you rocking out Lex! This is a tune.
I loved this CD. Wish I still had it, I want my CDs back Gina!
If you haven't done Slide Away, it's a must in your Oasis journey.
In the sunshineeeeeee
Congratulations you got to here the best band in the world
It was this video about 4 months ago that paved the way for me to check out Black Olives, and i love their music. Thank you Lex
The live version of this tune at EARLS court in 1995 is so much better than the original.
I think you should react to Oasis - Some Might Say at Maine Road in 1996. One of their greatest ever songs from arguably their greatest ever concerts!
Slide away is their best song.
Oh, a man of culture!
Oasis is just something... that you sometimes just have to give a few listens with some of their songs and you will end up loving them more than anything else. Their tunes are some of the catchiest stuff that you can find out there imo.
Brad studying always.
When Lex rocks itâs just soo awesome.
Give it the grime rice.
Youâre the best.
Love.
Owen Jones who mix down the first album came up with the wall of sound method, this made Oasis sound loads louder on juke boxes then everyone else's music.
Five For Fighting "Freedom Never Cries."
The importance of being idle is great as well.
Need to asses this in light of their massive catalogue. Supersonic is so dang sexy. From Liam's phrasing to Noel's shredding. No one talks about that aspect.
I have supersonic tattooed on my arm! Seeing this live for the first time was life-changing!
Oasis were influenced a lot by The Beatles and The Sex Pistols. You wouldn't question the lyrics ' I am the walrus, we are the egg men' and you should apply the same approach to a lot of Oasis songs, some of which were written under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Just turn up the volume and enjoy some good, old fashioned 90's Rock 'n' Roll!
No, Oasis said they were influenced by The Beatles and The Sex Pistols but there's actually very little of either of those bands in their musical style, plus it was perceived to be cooler to say that than admitting to their actual influences - T Rex, Slade and other 70s stuff.
More Oasis please đ
always thought the live versions of this song were better because of the faster tempo, liam changing the chorus melody and noels outro solo. Some might say was awesome live as well
This song live at Earls Court 1995 is THE Oasis live performance!
Good points. Those types of variations work with those songs.
And right after "Hello" live.
@@kJ922-h3j My favorite live Oasis song is Slide Away at Knebworth. I wanna say night 2.
All oasis songs are better live when they tempo is quicker. Supersonic at knebworth was incredible
Please do more oasis songs. They are awesome!
This is how all rock music videos should be done.
Definitely maybe is a classic
Oasis ....
The Master Plan
Stand By Me
Try the song whatever for me it's their best song. Their whole back catalogue is excellent đ
They had a real solid run for a bit
Lex gets it. You either get it or you don't.
Track, Album, Band, Marvellous!
Cigarettes and alcohol by Oasis is worth a listen
Got to react to them live at knebworth 125000 people on each day it was massive and absolutely unreal. 2:06
The best Oasis song is definitely 'Whatever', a stand-alone single released between their two best albums at the height of their songwriting. There were arguments over the songwriting credits, but I like to think it was never included on an album because there simply aren't any other songs that deserve to be put alongside it.
I love the clean music of the single, but the Knebworth live performances are where the song really comes alive.
LOL, Lex often has some insights from out of left field but I get it as soon as she says it. I gotta say though, she threw me for a loop with the "black olives" thing.
Good old brit rock from the 90s
I adore Lexâs reaction. The comparison to black olives works so well??
Oasis were fantastic
This is he first reaction I've seen, but I can't be the first to mention Synaesthesia? It a sounds like black olives - pure overlap. I almost wish I had it!
Went out with a girl who loved using Alka Seltzer, good memories.
Oasis from around this time live at knebworth album is top class
