Toyota made some pretty unexpected changes to their iconic sports car for 2021. In addition to more power for the Supra 3.0, a new 4-cylinder turbo Supra 2.0 makes it debut. Today, we look at all the differences between the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder models. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Hey guys - stay tuned for part 2 to be uploaded on 5/13 at 7am EST, while part 3 will be posted on 6/17 at 7am EST. Sorry to leave you hanging in the end with the driving impressions ;) Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Redline Reviews here waiting
Sofyan.... you got me lol. I was like “he really going to say how it drives?” Lol. I was also looking to see your face but no expression lol
Thank you Redline for making car reviews 😁 they are a joy every time😁
Why are you asking TOYOTA for a manual when it’s a BMW 😂 and for a targa top too please !!
Howard Hamlin We will talk about what exactly was changed under the hood of the 3.0 in the next video :)
I'd be a little bitter if I got mine last year and paid over sticker for them to bump the power on the new one.
Lesson: Never buy first year release of any vehicle
Tony C in my country even for any continental brands we waited for a year or two for “certified preowned” with under 5000 miles and sold for significant discount.
@damianraver always. But some people never learn
Especially when this shouldn’t have been the “first” year release of the car. Instead of building upon the legacy and design of the Supra. instead, they essentially recycled the name to make sales on a sports car that is NOT a Supra.
@@tonyc6996 With this logic, you will never buy any vehicle. There will always be a newer model with better upgrades, etc...I bought mine last July. I have been enjoying the heck out of my Supra for months, while everyone is still waiting for the 2021 to come out later this year. I have not seen a downside to getting the first gen. The car is plenty fast, and pricing was fine, if you know how to negotiate. We don't know pricing on the 2021 models yet. So if it's a few grand more than the 2020 listed for last year, I would say the 2020 was a much better deal since the performance upgrades can be done to the 2020 for minimal cost. To each there own though.
@@NEMotoGuy not at all true. First year you skip. Wait for the updates and buy 2021 in your case. Not to mention the air turbulence with the windows down. I'd be extremely disappointed
Sofyan’s neighbors must LOVE him. 🤣
PrimusPilusVorenus eye candy for days...
haha this is exactly what I was thinking!! I checked the comments to see if anyone else had thought of this lol.
I would bet my left pinky they were standing outside their yards staring at the Supras
Honestly, the 2.0 doesn’t sound bad, I like it
Sounds good on the road.
You can hear it's only a 4 cylinder, but a good sounding 4 cylinder
I was really hoping to get a new Supra but it was just way to expensive with the 3.0. I wouldn’t care if I get the 2.0 I would just feel so fortunate to be able to own it.
The 2.0 sounds great for a 4 banger, but the 3.0 just has a deep German growl to it that's so nice
5:35 the engine looks like a Sentinel from the Matrix
It just dawned on me the other day I've been watching Sofyan's reveiws for 8 Years!!! Who's been here before he created Redline Reviews or 2theredline. Keep up the quality work man and be safe out there, cabin fever is getting the best of me.
Whatchis1 I’ve been here ever since he had his Honda Fit
@@f181234 Same here, I was looking a buying a fit back in 2012 and stumbled over the channel.
The first vid I watched from him was the 335is review in 2012 and I still have my 335is today haha
Holy cow... 8 years! This channel (formally known as 2theRedline) was created in May 2012 so the actual anniversary is coming up! Thank you so much for all these years of sticking with us! We don't plan on stopping anytime soon and are hoping to reach 1 million subscribers by next year! :)
@@theredline God you saying that this was made in 2012 so its been 8 years makes me feel SUPER old when I think about the channels Ive been watching since 06 07 08... hehhhhh
Great review. These cars look great. Seen them on the road only twice. Tuners are gonna have fun with these
I love the home vlogs review, they feel fun and more natural
I like your reviews a lot! keep doing what you're doing!
I like how similar they are on equipment and appearances, I hate when cars scream to everyone that you bought the cheaper or slower model
I like that. It's easier to identify the posers.
Can’t believe the replies to your comment lol. Those criticizing “posers” are probably the same ones who debadge their 320i’s or add M badges to everything. I agree there needn’t be such a difference between engine levels.
You should get what you pay for. A faster car should look accordingly.
I mean it is only fair that if you pay $15k-$20k more for a car it is know. You are buying these cars to show off. Not everyone is racing these cars, so what differentiates it on basic road driving, it would be the looks and the sounds.
@@BrutalFates so the 2020 3.0 MSRP started at 50000. 2021 3.0 model should be more or less the same. and estimated 2.0 model to be 10k cheaper. For 10k you get 2 more cyclinder, different exhaust, bigger wheels, better brakes, better suspension etc. Unless they charge the 3.0 more, I don't think they can justify the extra work to develop extra "look" on the exterior
I wish the video was longer, however thank you very much and stay safe, grtz from Belgium!
You had me there I was waiting for you to say how the 4 cylinder felt 😂😂😂
Excellent review! Thanks for posting this thorough and informative video.
Great review as always Sofyan! 👍🏾
Just bought a 2021 Toyota Supra 2.0 and it sounds pretty badass no cap
I love the looks. The rims on the 3.0 look great!
I love his reviews, always trying to be more innovative and stylish, aside the distinctive audio-visual quality. Not too shabby
Supra 2.0 Reaction: My face had that strong not bad expression, it was actually pretty good exhaust sound.
Supra 3.0 Reaction: Damn! 👀 Combined with the not bad expression, had me like okay, that sounds mean Lol
Followed you Wayy Back than, Great Review.. Love Both Model! Keep it up! Beautiful car
That uncovered 4 cylinder engine has to be least impressive rats nest appearance I've ever seen in any car including the Mustang.
I remember watching your Frs/brz video saying that ima get one soon, and I got it. Now it’s the Supra 🔥💯 I will soon . Thank you
Also live in Northern Virginia dealings with congestion, weather and feel the turbo four would be good enough. Will hold judgment until your future review.
“What you thought I was gonna break the embargo? Sorryyyyyy” lol dying. Always hilarious and sincere! Great work
Great Review Bro
Both cars are awesome think I am going to look at this car in person great video
I love the F1 style Reverse light it would be so cool if it actually functioned like a real F1 light in the rain
I like the wheel design on the 2.0 better. They look amazing. I would love to see a 19" version of those on the 3.0
10:49 you got me there 🤣
2.0 sounds good, but damn that 3.0 gives one hell of an exhaust note
Saw the notification in my email and hit the like button automatically! I'm going to watch this over lunch break!
Both Sounds good. But the 3.0 sounds insane!!!
Such a tease . I want to see you driving the 6cyl supra. Latter bro see you soon love from NoVa.
Omg, that was so intriguing. I will definetly come back on may 13th and 17th. Btw; 3.0 no doubt, but 2.0 sounds surprisingly good too.
Wow! I can't tell how much I love this car, I hope I will be able to buy one in the near future. Unfortunately in Europe 2.0 would be much cheaper...
Nice video
For the buffing on windows i just lower both windows equally
Interesting to see they got the base 2.0 model for Supra. But I feel like most would opt for 3.0 given the huge tuning potential
Yes, that 3.0 is definitely the business. WOw!! Very impressed with the sound. Poor little 4 cylinder.
Definitely I love the sound of the 3.0
Be nice if you got a Toyota 4-cylinder. That would be a sweet consolation for getting the smaller engine.
The way they are treating the different powertrains reminds me of how Lexus did it on their IS/RC lines.
Now this is gonna be interesting. Two beautiful 2021 Toyota Supra MK5 with a 3.0 Inline-6 turbo and 2021 Toyota Supra MK5 2.0L Inline-4 turbo. 😍😍😍😍😍😍
At 2:03, he said now you would be able to tell the difference because of the whjusmeseb eels. 🤣🤣🤣
Sofyan's neighbors are probably wondering how he has a new car every other week. :)
You can hear turbo whistle in the 3.0. Plus it sounds better
I can't wait for the countless special commemorate editions of the Zupr4.
This isn't new. Many companies do this with many of their cars.
I won't lie... 2.0 is a great car for people who care more about double-taps than performance.
2.0 Sounds like I'll smoke yo ass.
3.0 Sounds like -Hold my 🍺.
That straight six cylinder engine looks like a nightmare to work on 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Well the owners throwing power at them with ease say otherwise.
Omg I’m from dc you don’t understand how hard I cheesed when you said that😭
I could have sworn I remember an episode where you said you were getting rid of your Porsche? Great episode. Just praying for a manual someday.
He did say that but the lease wasnt up yet
style 20 ah right. Fair nuf.
We actually had a few people seriously interested in buying the Cayman back in late Feb... then Coronavirus happened and it all died :(
Redline Reviews Sorry to hear that. Crappy. 🙁
Honestly, with gas prices being what they are it'd hard to say no to the 3.0 even though I know current gas prices won't last forever.
Now that there’s no traffic (well, “no traffic” compared to before covid-19) it would be fun to get those supras out on 495.
I have been hitting some impressive speeds on 695 in my fiesta st recently...
11:50 200IQ move showing the camera perspective including the tach but not the speed :)
The 2.0 has two notes, when you rev the engine....
The 3.0 has about five notes, it's louder and more expressive.
Jamie McGee no way Sherlock
I'm think the Toyota Supra 3.0 GR sounds really good has the crackles and pop
As an S2000 guy the 2.0 Supra has been the only car to catch my attention with new model cars... once i found out Supra only has Auto Trans Ive been having nightmares 😣
I like the rims of the 2.0 better all but the same design on the 3.0
So is the T4 the base model? Or is there also a 6 cylinder base model? And I assume there's a 2021Supra GT or some type of performance trim.
(unlikely but) If they can manage to make the base price for the 2.0 around 40k-43k (7-10k less than the 3.0) that will be a fantastic deal
I don’t care which one I get I’ll be happy with either one of these new Supra’s
The rims on the 2.0 reminds me of the ones on an 86
Can you put the mechanical differential on the 4-cylinder as an option? Or would the owner have to swap it.
I thought you were going to let go the Porsche , is it still for sale ? Where can i see the posting?
I still wanna see a Toyota Supra vs Lexus RC-F video... better yet a Toyota/ Lexus sports car video with all of the sports cars
The sound of the 3.0 is vicious lmaoo
The 3.0 looks better and sound much better
The 3.0 definitely has a better growl to it....that intake turbo sound is just like the original Supras
Wow those Air con controls are taken straight out of the BMW parts bin 😂 Which may be a good thing. Or maybe not 😂
The inline 6 is a brilliant motor and if you can that Supra for 55k its a good deal.
But you can pick up nicely loaded C7 Corvette right now for the same and have more fun.
I'm surprised it has the "old" BMW startup chime when the Z4 uses the newer one.
Im looking forward to Veloster n and Supra 2.0 comparisons
I am wondering how many takers there would be for the 2.0 vs. 3.0. It does not seem like there would be many, but we will see.
I love the 3.0 liter, the white supra👍👍
Love the 3.0 dont not shure i would trade off my 2018 ttrs for this but the bmw performance mix with the toyota desing , just wow and the sound suits the performance
5:23 My eyes!
Lets hope my local dealers don’t charge almost 100k for the Supra
cant wait to get the 4 cyl used!
Damn, for some reason the 4 cyl sounds like hatchiroku. Not bad
the 2.0 sounds more basey but seems slower to rev while the 6 sounds more powerful and freerer breathing. overall the 6 is better
I’d be happy with the 4 if it is that much less expensive and made financial sense. Of course with the new 86 coming out soon, which one will be a better value???
I'm The Toyota Supra GR 3.0 sounds fantastic
Your front neighbor has a Boost Blue Type R😂
I hope the 4 cylinder revs up faster than it appears in the video.
Really hope the 2021 Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 looks like this car inside:) Very nice interior and exterior:)
2021 Toyota Supra 2.0 Quick Hits:

I love to go with 2.0 engine for sure best option
How does a 1.0 supra sound like .
FWD with the Camry 4 cylinder engine starts at $25k ... epic
Hi, can you make a supra & mustang compare 2.7l mustang & 3l supra or 2l supra?
I love the Z4
Great looking car, but the 2.0 version is going to be way overpriced versus its competitors. I bet a lot of people are going to look at the 2.0 sticker price and either end up in a Mustang or just stretch to a 3.0
Can you let's us know how the supra compares to the cayman?...or make a supra vs Cayman video thanks
Which one would be a better replacement for a Subaru brz?
jason pimentel he already did that
Type R in Boost Blue at 8:23
Looks amazing 😍
Pretty sure that is an Aegean blue
Damm.. It's still a nice blue ;D
Now that's the car I would put my money into lol
I think he wanted to highlight how fast it shifts gears.
Toyota/BMW did a great job with the 2.0
You aren't giving up much (besides the power)
Something tells me that the 2020 Supra was already making close to the 2021's 382hp, just unofficially. Anyone else spot the Blue Type-R? And I heard those exhaust baffles when downshifting 3 to 2 at 11:22 and 11:41. Interesting.
Recently I saw a Japanese touge run/review of the classic vs new NSX and it reminded me the the mk4 and mk5 Supra. The Japanese drivers basically said the new NSX was created with US market in mind and has deviated from the Japanese heritage and I believe this mk5 suffers the same fundamental problem. It’s a wonderful sports car but it’s not a Supra.
I disagree. I think Acura saw how successful the GT-R was after it was brought back as a Supercar and tried to do the same thing.
Toyota hit home closer with the MK5.
It's got a I6, it's modular, and it's similar price as the original.
I think if people got over the BMW thing it's not a bad car by anymeans.
I think the LC 500 is more of the true modern Supra and they should of just made a poor man's varianr as the MK5.
I love these BMW's, I 'er mean, Toyota's! I would want the six cylinder if I was buying it though, it sounds great and I'm sure it performs very well too! :-)
That 4 banger isn't bad!
Can you compare the Ecoboost mustang vs the Supra 2.0? sounds like an even challenge
srxshadow if anything i think it would need to be compared to the beefed up HPP Ecoboost, rather than your regular EB which is about 20k less. Actually sounds like a a lot of car for the money now when you compare them 🤔 tho most would still say “ bUt iT dOeSnT hAvE a V8”. I think it would be an interesting comparison
Really hoping the price of the 2.0 is comparable to a well equiped Ecoboost. Wouldn't make much sense otherwise considering everything they stripped off the 3.0 Supra
